Jedi Ronin 1,588 Posted October 24, 2016 Torin nodded subserviently to the Imperial officer and took several steps backwards. He spoke in a low voice to Embeetoo. "Aril did not mention your history with him. What is it you are looking for in a mechanic? What does a B2 battle droid seek for? Are you going to engage in battle again? Who is your master?" Torin gestured towards the storm troopers.
The Shy Ion 502 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Click. Eya rolls out from under Grrowv, but stays flattened against the ground. Her safety is off now, habit and muscle memory kicking in before she quite knows what she's doing. Her gaze sweeps the scene again, across the Stormtroopers and the two Trandoshans, and settles on Chak himself. Suddenly, it's as if Eya sees nothing else. Not the Trandoshans—they're threats, but not the instigators. Not the Stormtroopers—though they're next. Not her own smile, cold and wild. The waiting is over. Everything's gone wrong, so she can finally get to work. Eya aims her rifle at the Devaronian, lingering just a moment as she feels the trajectory it will take, and squeezes the trigger. The tiny metal sphere of ammunition bursts from the barrel with a noise like the crack of thunder and buries itself in Chak's leg. First blood to her. Eya's turn: Maneuver: Marked for Death, targeted on Chak T'Vont. Maneuver: Aim Action: Shoot at Chak Shooting our Devaronian friend: 2eA+2eP+1eB+1eD+1eC+1eS+1eF 3 successes, 1 threat, 1 Dark Side Final result: 3 successes, 2 advantage. 11 damage before soak. Advantage spent to give Chak a Setback die to his next check. Eya is at 2/12 strain. I hope this is beginning to convey the true extent to which our little renegade proto-Inquisitor is messed up. Combat just brings out the worst in her... Edited October 24, 2016 by The Shy Ion 3 Absol197, Kymrel and waywardgm reacted to this
waywardgm 160 Posted October 25, 2016 So I know Eya had her gun out already, but do try to make sure we follow the whole "Quick Draw" or using a Maneuver to get the weapon ready from here on out - or if you're all happy with the narrative side of it I will apply the same rules to enemies, allowing them to have their guns ready prior to combat, just to make it fair!Crow, Ramani, keen to go next? Kymrel 1,505 Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) “Kill them.” The Devaronian’s words echo in Ramani’s head as Grrowv barrels down on him, getting him into cover behind a pile of crates. The situation seems to be hopeless until the Balosar sees the Stormtroopers rappelling into the docking bay. Rock and a hard place. Well, hopefully the bastard Trandoshans will have something other to shoot than an innocent Balosar. Looking around he can see that for the moment, he is relatively safe. Or, as safe as he can expect to be as the Bantha poodoo really hits the industrial-strength fan. To his right, Eya quickly rolls to the side and shoots her archaic bullet-shooter at T’Vont. Why would anybody bring a slugthrower to a blaster fight, Ramani muses as he hears the cracks when she fires her weapon. Ramani can’t see if she hits, but takes the opportunity to get to his feet, crouching in between crates, tentatively drawing his blaster. The time for words seems to be over. He isn’t really planning to shoot anybody just yet, not until one side seems to be winning. His plan in this shootout, like in all the other shootouts he’s been in is to wait for one side to be on the verge of losing, allowing him to support the winning side with a couple of well-placed shots and emerge a hero, once again. And then he sees the Devaronian stumbling from Eya’s shot, right into his view between two crates. Without thinking he quickly brings up his beautiful hand-made blaster, purchased from some of the piles and piles of credits he made in the past by working for the Black Sun. As he depresses the trigger slightly, holographic crosshairs appear in the air in front of the weapon. He aims for T’Vont, pressing the trigger once, but the slick Devaronian manages to get out of the line of fire as he presses the trigger since he only had a narrow view between the massive crates. Ramani ducks back into cover, pressing his back against one of the crates. He takes a deep breath. If he survives this, he’ll find a nice office job and settle down. Find a woman. Not his usual skanky-type. A proper woman who goes out to dinner and the Duros-theater. Get a couple of kids. Become respectable. If only the stars align and let him survive this mess. Since Crow is taking his time I'll grab the next slot. I prefer to follow the rules for those not with weapons in hand, requiring us to spend a maneuver to draw. Seeing the Devaronian struck by Eya spurs Ramani into action. He spends a maneuver to draw his blaster pistol and another (taking 2 strain) to get up, staying in the hard cover. And then an action to shoot the bugger in the back. Since the pistol has an Electronic Sighting System he gets to aim for free at short range. The other two boosts are from the Accurate 2 from the pistol. Shooting my Devaronian friend. In the back...: 2eA+1eP+3eB+1eD+1eC+1eS 1 failure, 2 advantage Wow. Orokos really wants Ramani to fail at every single roll? He won't last long like this I think. I'll spend the advantages on recovering the 2 strain spent. It is as if nothing happened this turn... waywardgm 160 Posted October 27, 2016 (edited) Naww thanks Shy! I very much appreciate that. I hope you are better now too? No more sickness? Also, I will note here that I will post the damage values with soak included, so do make sure to update your sheets with current numbers as I will use those as reference. Solan: As soon as he lands on the ground, Solan rolls forward and past Eya as she lines up her first shot and sinks it into the now howling Devaronian. In one smooth motion, the Corellian pulls out a DL-44 Blaster Pistol and shoots multiple bolts across the Docking Bay, not even that sure himself what he is aiming at, if he is aiming at all. The general idea is to hit one of the Trandoshans, in order to stop them from firing back as he finds better cover than a very explosive box of weapons. As soon as his back hits the small stack of non-explosive boxes, blaster bolts zing across the space where he was. A moment slower and he would have been riddled full of holes! Still firing wildly, Solan is thrilled when he hears a small hiss of rage, the Trandoshan closest to him ducks down, a neat set of burns stitched across his clothing. "Still got it!" the now grinning Corellian cries out, over the din of battle. "Get the damned Stormtroopers!" Grrowv yells in reply, gesturing upwards wildly. Solan's eyes follow her pointing, and then widen as he notices the team fast-roping in from above. "Oops... Tunnel vision strikes again..." he mutters to himself. Solan uses the Quick Draw and Spring Up incidentals Solan uses One Maneuver to move a single range band away - to Medium Range Solan then uses One Maneuver and 2 Strain to take cover Solan finally uses One Action and fires his Heavy Blaster Pistol against Larrsk Firing DL-44 against Larrsk: 2eP+1eA+1eC+1eD 4 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph The 1 Threat will be taken as Strain (due to narrowly avoiding blaster fire) The 1 Triumph will be used to make Larrsk's next check harder by upgrading it once Larrsk takes 6 points of damage Chak T'Vont: Furious did not begin to describe Chak's mood. He was so in control up until then. The deal was perfectly set up to exploit. The tracker had already been disabled! How could the Empire have found them? He had planned it all out perfectly, using multiple proxies and a fence, then hiring the two idiots that these four idiots must have taken out to get the weapons. But none of that mattered now. All that mattered was the slug that had pierced his leg, and the blood flowing from the wound. Cursing in rage, he jerks his arm, causing a small blaster pistol to pop out of his sleeve. Not even bothering to take aim at the scarred human girl, T'Vont fires, the small blaster singing as vicious orange bolts fly from it, scattering across the ground around Eya until a few hit home. Chak sneers, his devilish smile looking ever more sinister from the flashing lights playing across it. Crouching down and clutching his wounded leg with his free hand, the Devaronian ducks to avoid return fire. Chak uses the Quickdraw ncidental to draw his Hold Out Blaster Chak next uses One Maneuver to move a single range band away - to Medium Range Chak then uses One Action to fire at Eya Firing Hold Out Blaster at Eya: 3eP+2eD+2eS 1 success, 2 advantage Eya takes 1 point of damage Woops! I forgot the extra Setback - one moment please... Added Setback from Eya's result: 1eS 0 successes, 1 threat Chak uses the One Maneuver and 2 Strain to take cover Chak has taken 7 points of damage Larrsk: As soon as the order was given, Larrsk the Fanghunter raised the scattergun and pulled the trigger. The good thing about scatterguns was the lack of requirement when it comes to marksmanship. The scaled alien knew it was not the most honorable weapon, but he was not hunting, he was simply killing. Better to get it right with one shot than waste time letting the enemy shoot back. Just as Larrsk squeezes the trigger a blaster bolt careens into his shoulder, then another into his chest, throwing off his concentration. The large gun kicks in his hands as it fires, the pellets spraying across the confined area, but he can see the lack of effect as they bounce off the crates and debris in the way. Not a wasted shot, the Balosar takes a hit, but nowhere near the effect he wished for. Snarling as the Corellian man laughs at wounding him, Larrsk pumps the scattergun, getting another round ready and waiting for anyone foolish enough to poke their head out. Larrsk uses One Maneuver to draw his 8 Gauge Scattergun Larrsk uses One Action to fire towards the group Shooting 8 Gauge Scattergun at Eya, Grrowv, Ramani and Solan: 1eP+1eA+1eC+2eS 1 success Ramani takes 4 points of damage (adding injury to insult, I randomly selected the target here and Ramani was lucky enough to be it...) Right - next we have Crow's turn, which should be up within 12 hours. Edited October 27, 2016 by waywardgm
Kymrel 1,505 Posted October 27, 2016 (edited) Ramani feels truly blessed. I take it the damage is after his meager soak? I am very interested to see who the Stormtroopers will target, to be honest... Edited October 27, 2016 by Kymrel
waywardgm 160 Posted October 27, 2016 (edited) I bet! Ramani must have a guardian angel who perhaps likes to drink a lot. Yes, I have included soak. You had 1 more due to cover, and that extra setback that possibly saved Blast from triggering on the attack. Or maybe you have Solan to thank for Larrsk not having as easy a time. And the Troopers are coming down right on top of the four in the middle, so I am also intrigued! Unless there's good cause for a specific target - i.e. Eya shooting Chak and the horned fellow wanting to shoot back, I try my best to randomize things for everyone, to spread the love. It also means I can't accidentally play favorites. There will, of course, be times where one person will be the center of attention and be targeted by perhaps the entire criminal underworld, but you're small fish in a large, large universe at the moment! No worries about that yet. Edited October 27, 2016 by waywardgm 1 Kymrel reacted to this
Kymrel 1,505 Posted October 27, 2016 I'd like to think his guardian angel is also a helpless deathstick-addict who's right now sort of thinking that he might need to do something but is really hoping the situation will resolve itself without him having to actually get up and do something. primusnine 72 Posted October 27, 2016 "Well isn't this a nice way to spend an afternoon," Crow rumbles to himself as he dashes across the docking bay. "Bloody criminals having a gun fight and bloody Stormtroopers coming in from the sky and bloody blaster bolts getting far too bloody close to bloody me!" Dropping and sliding, the already scratched and chipped plasteel plates of his armor earning even more wear and tear, the Clone avoids the main battle by skidding into position behind one of the large duracrete pillars supporting the overhang near a small storage area off to the side of the bay. Peeking around the corner, and immediately recoiling as a shot slams into his cover, tearing a chunk of stone out only narrowly missing his helmeted face, CR-0216 assesses the situation as fast as he can. Corellian; trigger happy. Was that shot his? Larrsk; doesn't need to aim with that gun. Eya; right fine shot just then. Devaronian; the person I want to shoot most. Imperials: have not shot at me yet. Parked ship: biggest threat, but too well armored and too far away. Settle for Devaronian? Or mitigate Imperial Stormtrooper tactics? Eya in contact zone. Latter is better. All of these thoughts race through his mind in a split second, his eyes darting around even as his hands ready his gun. You can take the Clone out of the Grand Army, but you can't take years of military teaching and field experience out of the Clone. Zooming in on the Stormtroopers, he sees they are using standard issue equipment to zip down the lines. Prehensile cable, easy enough to burn through with a well placed blaster shot. They won't even know who pulled the trigger, with all the different colors of laser bouncing around the docking bay. Taking careful aim, Crow exhales gently as he squeezes the trigger. A pure blue light blasts out from the end of his rifle, streaking through the air and cutting through one of the rappelling ropes. Maneuver 1 to get into coverManeuver 2 to Aim (2 strain taken)Action to fire at the cables supporting the Stormtroopers (adding 2 setback as per GM request for tough target) Shooting out the rappelling lines: 2eP+1eA+1eB+2eD+2eS 1 success, 2 threat It's a hit! Weedles and Fries 170 Posted October 28, 2016 (edited) Embeetoo could only step back, feeling utterly powerless. His quarry was probably being riddled with holes by now: whatever she had gotten herself into the scarred youth would probably never limp away from it. If only his systems weren’t compromised, suppressed by that blasted infernal Chevin! His core being urged him and stung at his mind, the opportunity of battle staring him straight in the face with himself unable to fire the first bolt. No, his chance at freedom ironically laid in servitude, the girl being the only link he had to his temporary new “master” the clone. The droid, now standing next to the Kel-Dor, began to think of a way to coerce the troops into taking the first shot without being laid waste by the eight of them. Perhaps he could startle one of them, make them misfire? NO, these are no mere thugs, these were soldiers. Maybe he could instigate one of the outliers. The battle unit tuned into the sounds all around him as he dwelled on the situation: the sharp cracks of blasters, the commands of the officer before him and…the Kel-Dor. Perhaps, he could assist? If a Sage he be, he wouldn’t be totally useless in a scrap. But, it would be neigh impossible for a pacifist like the Baran-Do to start engaging a foe out of pure hostility. Of well, as long as he pondered he may as well answer the courier’s questions. Speaking in a low, rumbling tone the droid spoke to the Padawan while keeping eye contact to the breaching party. “I bet the wrinkled fool wouldn’t. Untrustworthy, conniving, attempted to rob me of my weapon. Definitely not skilled enough to fix my situation.” He let out an audible buzz of annoyance before continuing, “As for what that problem is, well, bluntly I wish to remove some of my…restrictions if you understand my manner. I know of one who may provide the funds and transport I need to obtain an expert, as anyone less would only cause more harm, but I fear that chance may be slipping away”. With that he gave a small turn towards the door, motioning to the slaughter which must be ensuing. Quietly and in a hushed voice, the droid continued “As for your next question, though every wire of my being is driving me to open fire against the troops you see, I am unable to fire unless in self-defense, the defense of my allies, or the defense or order of my master. Without said master I am unable to act out in aggression unprovoked, and I fear my chances at such an arrangement are slipping through my fingers.” “So…now that your questions have been satisfied I ask you this: who and what are you? I doubt in that attire you are simply a messenger or negotiator” A thought leaking into his mind, Embeetoo mustered a way he might receive the entrance and edge he so desired “Do you really want the programming locked in my body? If so, perhaps we could make an arrangement after all. Simply allow me to mark you temporarily as my master, say, until the immediate threat has been resolved, and join me in reaching my quarry, my LIVING quarry. A few bodies for knowledge that could save thousands more, a most efficient method wouldn’t you say?” The protocols he contained would mean nothing to him after they were removed; it would be a miniscule price indeed to preserve his chance and to fight in a true battle once more. Embeetoo has quite the itchy trigger finger Also Torin, if you think that too sudden a suggestion than I cut the offer out and wait. waywardgm 160 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Destiny Pool: 3 Light Side / 5 Dark Side Well, this is shaping up nicely! It's great to see everyone getting so into the combat and feeling the stakes rise. Let's continue! First - Crow's shot has caused one of the Troopers to fall - a distance of Short Range - into the group below the shuttle. This has caused 6 damage to the minion group. The Trooper in question is still alive, and prone on the ground. Second - I have flipped one Destiny Point to have the group outside Docking Bay 54 find a way to hotwire the doors and shave ONE ROUND off their entry time, meaning they will arrive at the END OF THE NEXT TURN (one full round after this one - I may or may not be trying to spur a certain Jedi and Droid into action)! Third - I made a mistake on upgrading the Ship's attack, so I have granted an extra Destiny Point back to the group as means of apology. Use them well! Grrowv: "Curse his tunnel vision!" the Togorian roars over the firefight, her irritation at Solan's lack of awareness replaced by surprise as one of the four Stormtroopers that had been coming in from the shuttle, hovering above the docking bay, suddenly slammed into the ground with an abruptly cut off scream. Looking up, she sees one of the lines has been cut, a well placed shot from somewhere rending the cable asunder and causing the soldier to hit the ground. Hard. Wasting no time, Grrowv pulls a large vibroknife from inside her jacket, before falling on the armored figure. The groaning man sees her coming, and rolls out of the way as she lands, her blade missing him and deflecting off the duracrete floor. Cursing, this time directing the words at herself instead of her Corellian companion, she seizes the chance to grab the blaster rifle off the man as he avoids her attack, quickly tossing it into the the crate of E-11s. The hulking Togorian then follows the injured Stormtrooper, making sure he will have to engage her should he get himself back into the fight. Grrowv uses One Maneuver to draw her Vibroknife Grrowv then uses One Action to attack the prone Stormtrooper Knife melee attack on the injured Stormtrooper: 3eP+1eA+1eB+2eD+1eS 0 successes, 3 advantage Grrowv uses 3 Advantage to disarm the Stormtrooper, his E-11 is tossed into the crate with the others And it seems Orokos doesn't like Togorians or Balosar, Ramani! Bhurrk: Snarling, the larger of the two Trandoshans faces the possibility of death with rage on his face. He did not care if he died here today, for he would meet the Scorekeeper proudly, and she would welcome him into her hall and let him feast and drink and hunt with the others worthy of her afterlife. He'd leveled his gun the moment Chak had spoken. Always ready; that is how one became a successful hunter. Calculating the shot, Bhurrk waits for the massive Togorian woman to show an exposed part of herself, before calmly pressing down on the trigger and sending two bolts from his carbine into her side. That would teach her that attacking injured prey was not the right way. That would teach her that above all else, Bhurrk was a principled and religious man, never would he forsake the pure teachings or risk losing his points from acting dishonorably. Snarling again, he takes flight across the docking bay, re-positioning before any of his foes can draw a bead on him and hunkering down near the looming chassis of the ship. Bhurrk uses the Quick Draw incidental Bhurrk uses One Action to shoot Grrowv with his Blaster Carbine Firing Blaster Carbine at Grrowv: 2eP+1eA+2eD+1eS 2 successes, 3 advantage Bhurrk uses One Maneuver to move a single range band away - to Medium Range Bhurrk uses 2 Advantage to take an Immediate Free Maneuver and take cover Grrowv takes 5 points of damage Unidentified droid in the ship: I am flipping ONE DARK SIDE POINT to upgrade the ship's attack Hammering away at the entire docking bay, the heavy repeating blaster from the underside of the Nova Courier sprays across the unfolding fight. Red streaks lance across the hangar, blowing chunks out of the pillars, making the storage crates explode or catch fire, and smashing into the walls, leaving behind huge divots and scorch marks. The gun slowly rotates, rising slightly to target a new entry that are coming into the fray. A flurry of shots tears through the air, hitting and puncturing the armor of the Stormtroopers as they slide down their cables. One body drops to the ground, dead on impact. I retroactively decided to use a Destiny point here - so I have reassigned the random target and it worked out better for the group (though the previous shot was indeed a miss), but to punish myself I am giving you back a second Destiny Point. The Ship uses One Action to fire the Heavy Repeating Blaster at the rappelling Stormtroopers Firing a ship-mounted Heavy Repeating Blaster at everyone: 1eP+2eA+2eD+1eS 1 success The Stormtroopers take 11 points of damage - killing one outright and wounding others Edited October 29, 2016 by waywardgm 1 Kymrel reacted to this
waywardgm 160 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Stormtrooper Group:"Man down," came through the squad comms, the calm voice of GC-839 odd against the roaring of the Togorian, the pulsing screeches of blaster fire and the sounds of cursing being shouted back and forward across Docking Bay 54 between the criminals. KT-124 felt his boots hit the ground, just as GC-839 landed beside him. Both raised their Imperial Issue E-11 Blaster Rifles in unison, standing back to back, directly in the middle of the emerging conflict."Priority target the Togorian, get QI-550 back on his feet. The breach team will be through the door in moments, we just have to hold," GC says, the sound clear even as the repeating blaster on the ship opens up again. Glancing to his left, KT-124 sees the smoking ruin of DK-769, a crumpled heap of gleaming white armor with all the life gone from the man inside it. You criminal scum! He can't keep the anger beneath the surface. waywardgm 160 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Imperial Force outside Docking Bay 54:"Excuse me, ma'am!" a Stormtrooper says sharply as he jogs up to the rigid woman, her gaze turning on him and likely causing the man inside the armor to shrivel up a little, "EG-058 has bypassed some of the security, he is reworking the electronics and we will be inside the bay within moments." The blonde haired human nods, a dismissive gesture, and the Trooper salutes before hurrying back to join his compatriot, whose hands are inside a mess of wires as he attempts to get through a very complex electronic locking mechanism more directly. The Imperial Officer turns, surveying the entry area to Docking Bay 54, where some people still linger to watch the proceedings. Let them watch, she thinks, Let them see the way we handle those who would stand against the might of the Empire. Her thoughts are interrupted, however, when she sees the B2 Battle Droid and the quiet Kel-Dor still standing far too close. Turning to face them, one hand moving to the blaster pistol at her side, she speaks up with a clear and authoritative voice, "What did I tell you to do, citizen? You are to remove yourself from the area immediately, or I will be forced to order your removal."Let them see that we are not to be trifled with! The Shy Ion 502 Posted October 29, 2016 Eya barely notices the sting of the blaster shot—it's only a superficial burn. Nowhere close to hampering her. As the Stormtroopers land around her, she finally stands. She clicks the safety back on, letting the rifle hang, and suddenly her hand flashes towards her boot. Then, as if from nowhere, she has a serrated vibroknife, gleaming and humming. She dodges a blaster bolt and spins with the momentum, gunfire roaring in her ears. She finds herself nearly face-to-face with one of the Stormtroopers. Without stopping, Eya jams the knife into the trooper's shoulder, yanking it out again a moment later. Eya's Turn: Incidental (for clarity): Quick Draw the vibroknife. Maneuver: Stand from prone. Maneuver: Engage Stormtroopers. Eya is at 4/12 strain. Action: Attack Stormtroopers. Kymrel 1,505 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) “Ahhahaaaaa,” Ramani screams when the searing hot blaster bolt from the Trandoshian breaches the crate he was using as cover and singes his left shoulder. That could have killed me, he thinks. My head was there just a second ago. Composing himself for a moment, he realizes he has to get out of here. To get into a more solid cover than those flimsy boxes. With the exits probably blocked by more stormtroopers that leaves him one option. The ship. Get into the ship, clear out the gunner and steal the ship. Blast off into hyperspace before the Imperials even know what’s happening. Yes, if the plan was to get rich, things were going according to plan, despite the little hiccup he was having. He was going to have to sell the ship relatively cheap since it will, technically, be stolen, but he will make a nice profit. Assuming he can pilot the thing. Bah, how hard can that be? Those things practically run themselves! And they have a computer that calculates those hyperspace jumps, should be simple, really. He peeks up to assess the situation. Those crazy females were trying to carve up armored stormtroopers with knives. Ramani shakes his head a little. They won’t last long, he thinks. The clone has his weapon in a firing position, but doesn’t seem to be targeting him, unlike that annoying lizard scum with that nasty scattergun. Ramani ducks back into cover. How is he supposed to get to the ship without being killed by either the crooks or the even bigger Imperial crooks out there? He doesn’t have a lot of time to think, but fortunately he always gets his very best ideas under pressure. There was no way they wouldn’t shoot Ramani Fenn, Balosar conman and a being of the galaxy. But they wouldn’t shoot Romol Fam, an undercover ISB agent. No, not ISB. That blonde could be ISB. What’s better than ISB, Ramani thinks, frustrated. Well. There was always the Emperor. No. Too high. Vader. There is always Vader. When he worked for the Black Sun he heard whispers of Vader’s efficiency as the lap dog of the Emperor, doing all his dirty work. That sounded potent. What imperial will do something to a man working for Darth Vader himself? Thinking about this for another moment, Ramani realizes that his plan is perfect. The Imperials will at least check it out before blasting him, buying him time. And the regular crooks will at least shoot him last, hoping if everything went deep core bad for them they would at least have someone who wanted them alive. It is peeeerfect, again, Ramani Fenn comes out ahead! Ramani stands up, out of cover, his pistol held by his side, and shouts at the stormtroopers, his manner totally different from what it was just moments ago. Gone is the casual conman. He acts and talks like an Imperial, his accent changed to a Coruscant accent. “What the hell are you doing, this is my operation. Seize everyone, but set blasters on stun you fools. I’m working undercover for Darth Vader himself, and you clowns have just ruined months of my work. Run my authorization, code name is Dark Star, code Cherek dash one-four-six-nine dash Osk. I need to secure the ship, but I want those criminals alive! Fail me and you will answer to Vader personally!” Clearly, nobody had been expecting that. As the stormtroopers look at each other in confusion and one of the Trandoshian looks at him slack-jawed, Ramani uses the lull in shooting and runs into the ship, trying to move like the secret agents from the holo-shows. He resists the urge to smile as nobody takes a shot at him as he runs flat out into the doorway of the ship. Why shoot when you can talk? Ramani is using his very fine talent Don’t Shoot! He needs to do a Hard Charm check, if he succeeds he can’t be targeted by a combat check in this encounter, until he himself makes a combat check. This talent can only be used once per session, so this had better work… Charm check for Don't Shoot! talent: 3eA+1eP+3eD 3 successes Yeah! I made a check! I can only assume the guardian angel has finished his deatstick and is now looking over Ramani in a drug-hazed sort of way... It’s a bit hard to role play the use of the talent in a three-way conflict but hopefully this will get them confused enough. When they go low, you go Vader! So it’s an action to use the talent and then two maneuvers to move into the ship (which cost him 2 strain). From the earlier success on identifying the ship I’m extrapolating that Ramani has been on a ship of this type before, and has a reasonably clear idea how to get to the turret. It would be helpful for the next round to get an idea on if it will take one or more maneuvers to get to the turret.
