blkdymnd 182 Posted September 12, 2016 I've played the mobile game Star Wars, Galaxy of Heroes pretty much since launch. For those unfamiliar, you collect Star Wars personalities from every official time era. Build an optimal squad of 5 heroes. Most of the arenas let you mix dark and light, but some make you choose one or the other. And then you battle opposing squads of 5, activating signature special abilities and finding the right winning combination. It's one of the more fun mindless mobile games I play, and I feel like Destiny is going to scratch exactly the same itch, just in physical form. Aahzmandius_Karrde 398 Posted September 12, 2016 It's funny. I didn't discover GoH until this month, but I've thought similarly. As I started to play GoH I tried to envision how you could translate it to a board game, but while I have come up with a few of the mechanics I kept thinking how would this really differ from Destiny. 1 blkdymnd reacted to this
MarthWMaster 367 Posted September 12, 2016 Even so, it does seem like it will satisfy in the same way, but with actual strategy moreso than mindlessly blasting enemy characters. 1 JediGeekGirl reacted to this
Hawkman2000 352 Posted September 14, 2016 Could be like GoH with much less pointless level grinding. I'm thinking a better comparison might be Heroclix.
Mattr0polis 66 Posted September 19, 2016 I was thinking similar as well. I really wanted to play Galaxy of Heroes but I was playing other mobile games with in-app purchases at the time of release, so I skipped it. But now there's Destiny and I also get a similar vibe and the mixing of all eras etc. is just cool. Really looking forward to it.
