Comrade Cosmonaut 490 Posted August 30, 2016 Here's that list, if this is what we're getting at: Force Duty. Oh boy that's awesome. Thanks a lot.
Absol197 5,296 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) I think I'm going to call Kalira's Duty Innovation, if that's alright. To innovate new pathways of the Force and them spread them to others. Her Destiny seems to be strongly linked to Aanu's, so her relationships with the others will likely develop more organically, with no "preconceptions," as it were. She seems to be the "oddest one out" in the group, so it makes sense she'd have the fewest real connections to start. Although ironically, given what we know about our gank friend, there might be something there. If our gank's goal is to infiltrate whatever the Empire is doing and protect the people they've imprisoned, then she'd have a reason to spring Kalira ands keep near her to keep her safe, despite her...challenging personality. So food for thought! Edited August 30, 2016 by Absol197 2 The Shy Ion and sinistar reacted to this
The Shy Ion 502 Posted August 30, 2016 I feel like this is going to force Aanu and Kalira to work together with their Duties, and it's going to be great. Especially since they're both a bit abrasive. (Yeah, Presence 1 and her only social skill being Coercion... Aanu might be more a talker than a fighter, but her mouth basically has three settings: snark, information, and intimidation.)That would be very interesting indeed. Muahahaha, I like it! It would be funny if the Force kept drawing them together, like whenever the party gets split up, no matter how much they dislike each other they always somehow end up in the same group, because their paths are Yin and Yang and need to balance each other. Even their approaches to social situations seem like they balance - Aanu is direct and forceful, Kalira is very sly and subtle. That would be a very fun dynamic, I think! It's going to bug the crud out of Kalira until she finally gets it through her thick skull that there's a reason for it, which makes it all the better ! I love this. The Force is just gonna keep slamming these two together until they get it into their heads that they really do need each other. 2 Absol197 and sinistar reacted to this
sinistar 46 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) I do definitely see a "glance-grab-shove" exit to whatever cell they wind up in for Kalira, if DLMA has her way. Also, the gank has a name. *jazz hands* Surprise! The Force is just gonna keep slamming these two together until they get it into their heads that they really do need each other. I definitely hope those two end up like Shaggy and Scooby whenever things go splitsville. Maybe with less eating and more glaring and spite, but the thought counts. Blackbird888 4,110 Posted August 30, 2016 I know we already have one, but I plan to progress Ze'nemon with the Executioner spec, as that adds what I need to the character. I might replace this with Sentry, depending on what it actually does and when Endless Vigil arrives. If that's okay. 1 Absol197 reacted to this

I'm actually not sure whether it's better to call being "the Shaggy" or "the Scooby" here... Shaggy is more of the motivator, offering the Scooby Snacks to get Scoobs going, while Scooby is the accompolisher, who gets things done once he's been properly motivated. Although until he gets the motivation, he's much more the scaredy-cat. So maybe Kalira is the Scooby? I'm not putting way too much thought into this throw-away joke, not at all ! Okay, we've got connections between Aanu, Kalira and...is it DLMA? So what about Kolah? Where do we think he'll fit into the group? Like Sinistar said, he's one of the three of us using his power for money making by hunting/hurting people, but it's not really his calling... sinistar 46 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Kolah wants nobility, right? Someone who seeks to jumpstart a new Force tradition can take on the power and title they want--or are permitted to take, by established powers. Kael, does Kolah need power granted by an authority, or could he establish it himself? If we're keeping the past and forging the future,we choose whether we're Knights, champions--or Force-lords. Absol197 5,296 Posted August 30, 2016 (edited) Ooh, I like it! Of course, that revelation may be a while coming, but perhaps Kolah's Seek power keeps inexplicably pointing him towards staying with the group to get what he wants, no matter how odd that seems. And since he's not aware of his sensitivity yet, perhaps that power manifests as a strong feeling and instinct that these are the people to be around, and he just can't dismiss it no matter how crazy it seems. Any thoughts, Kael ? Edited August 30, 2016 by Absol197

Absol197 5,296 Posted August 30, 2016 Blackbird, are you thinking Ze'nemon will have any preexisting links to the group? Or just beat up and tossed into our cell block when he tried to take his revenge? Any of our stories seem like something that he'd click with for a reason to stick around after we GTFO, or is it more of a "It's better to have others to work with than be on your own, and these losers are all I've got," type of deal? Comrade Cosmonaut 490 Posted August 31, 2016 That's the spirit, any port in a storm and all that. So, how about gear? Knight level states that players begin with a lightsaber (or cash, but no), so everyone may have either a lightsaber with a basic crystal, or any one weapon OR armor OR cybernetic of a price and rarity equal to the basic saber. If you fall short of this value, that's just a shame. Each PC can have a total of one armor, one weapon, one utility item of rarity 5 or less and a cost of 1,000 or less, zero drugs or healing items, and one item of seemingly no significance to anyone (though whether it means something to the character is up to you individually). The Shy Ion 502 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) Does anyone who has more books than I know if there are stats for the zhaboka anywhere? I checked Google, but I only got people's homebrew ones. Edit: Also, is that one weapon in total or one weapon after the expensive item? Can we have an expensive weapon/lightsaber and an inexpensive one? Absol197 5,296 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) I'm somewhat confused, perhaps you can clarify - is this gear meant to be things we had with us before we were captured, things we will find after we escape, something else I can't think of/am not supposed to know about, or has the initial conceit of us being captured by someone been altered? The stuff that Kalira has will be dependent on whether it's from her life before or her life after, so the answer is somewhat important. But, I'll assume it's stuff we had with us when we were captured that we retrieve during the escape, and if you feel that assumption will lead me down the wrong path, let me know. Otherwise, you don't need to say anything - keep your precious secrets, Mr. GM-Man ! EDIT: As far as I know, Zhabokas have not been statted anywhere. Sorry . EDIT 2: Oh, and can the one item that is as costly/rare as a lightsaber have attachments, as long as said attachments do not increase the cost above the 9,300 credits of a basic lightsaber? I will automatically assume no mods, because mods . Edited August 31, 2016 by Absol197

Kael 1,865 Posted August 31, 2016 Sorry I got sick last night and been recovering most of the day. So I'll respond to a bunch of stuff at once. Kael, I see that your false lord there has Seek. I know the overlap is fine, especially given PC tendencies to split the party, but I may look at suppress or heal/harm instead or in addition. Two Seekers may be good if the party splits up. Then we can auto ping each other to get back together!!!!! Though if you're looking for power ideas I've considered dropping Misdirect for now (I liked the idea of him sneaking around and being all ninja but I'm not sure if it's a strong fit for the concept at this time or if he has the Force Dice to make it a reliable thing) . Suppress is good depending on what you want to do. Heal/Harm are also nice. I would also consider Influence with your strong Coercion skill. For a Warden, Enhance is also a good power to have. Kolah wants nobility, right? Someone who seeks to jumpstart a new Force tradition can take on the power and title they want--or are permitted to take, by established powers. Kael, does Kolah need power granted by an authority, or could he establish it himself? If we're keeping the past and forging the future,we choose whether we're Knights, champions--or Force-lords. You can take any title you want but you have to have people who recognize it. He already calls himself a Lord now, but that comes with no formal backing because it lacks authority. He doesn't need power granted by an authority so much as he needs an authority to recognize said power. How far he's willing to go to get that recognition is anyones guess. Ooh, I like it! Of course, that revelation may be a while coming, but perhaps Kolah's Seek power keeps inexplicably pointing him towards staying with the group to get what he wants, no matter how odd that seems. And since he's not aware of his sensitivity yet, perhaps that power manifests as a strong feeling and instinct that these are the people to be around, and he just can't dismiss it no matter how crazy it seems.Any thoughts, Kael ? That's pretty much how I picture his powers working. He doesn't realize he's using his powers or that he has them. They are just natural extensions of him. He doesn't know that when he's tracking a target and he gets a hunch as to which way he needs to go that he's using the Seek power. He just thinks he's one of the galaxy's best trackers and he can discern insights that no other bounty hunter can! Now to find a good sniper rifle that is as reasonably priced as a lightsabre!!!! Absol197 5,296 Posted August 31, 2016 Darn, Expensive Jewelry is rarity 7 and 2,000 credits, can't use it as my "utility" item...unless I can give up my weapon for it...? *wink wink nudge nudge* I'll try to find something else... 1 The Shy Ion reacted to this
Blackbird888 4,110 Posted August 31, 2016 I've already worked out what equipment Ze'nemon starts with: A Kyuzo war shield. Concealing robes. Provided restricted utility items are accepted, I'll take a set of lockpicking tools. If not, I might just pass on a utility item for now. A long strip of bloodied cloth, worn around the left hand and forearm. Are they bandages, or... ?

sinistar 46 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) I know we all have most/some/a selection of books, but this might enable us to remain as bookless as possible. It's got all of the races up-to-date and all of the gear (though no mods or attachments) except for the latest soldier book. I think Com linked it at some point, but someone said they couldn't access it. It seems to work well for me even if I'm signed out of Docs, so if anyone is interested in using it to spare their books, but it doesn't work, let me know! Now to work on DLMA (dilemma)'s gear, aw yes. I have had more fun with this character than many in a long time. (My favorite character was still probably Fade, a hound of the fey hunt who was lost when she was a puppy and raised by humans--a massive, black german shepherd with green gloss to her coat; "Fighting eldritch abominations is my favorite thing! Investigating crime scenes is my favorite thing!") Also, Kael, I'm sorry you felt unwell, and I'm glad you're recovering. Absol197 5,296 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) Okay, Kalira's gear, we have two options. We'll be going with option 1 unless not only Cosmonaut, but everyone else, agrees that the switch is amenable: Option 1: --Defender Sporting Blaster Pistol (DA pg. 44; Rarity 6, 650 cr) --Superior, custom-fit noble regalia (DA pg. 49; Rarity 7 (attachments 6 and 3); 750 + 5,000 + 400 = 6,150 cr) --Personal Transponder (KtP pg. 51; Rarity 4, 100 cr) --A fancy diary (with paper and ink and everything), complete with quill and ink pot, in which she records her dreams. Option 2: --Superior, custom-fit noble regalia (DA pg. 49; Rarity 7 (attachments 6 and 3); 750 + 5,000 + 400 = 6,150 cr) --Expensive Jewelry (DA pg. 51; Rarity 7, 2,000 cr) --A fancy diary (with paper and ink and everything), complete with quill and ink pot, in which she records her dreams. Keep in mind, though, that if we do go with option 1, everyone will have to listen to her screech about how "They SOLD my jewelry!" Also, the attachments can definitely be removed if my assumption about them being allowed on our lightsaber-alternative was mistaken. EDIT: Personal Dream Diary Fashioned of aged red leather, this portfolio is bound with a long throng wrapped around it multiple times and tied off. Attached inside are several hundred small pages, a slot for a feather-quill, and a high-tech red ink that stores compact and dry but writes deliciously. Kalira has been using this folio as a diary to record interesting dreams that she has. It is the one thing she has that she considers a "weakness," as it could be used against her if another socialite were to find it, but she's unable to let it go. It's probably more precious to her than anything, or anyone, she has. Edited August 31, 2016 by Absol197 1 sinistar reacted to this
The Shy Ion 502 Posted August 31, 2016 Alright, I think mine is ready: • One basic lightsaber (purple) • One set of adverse environmental gear (specialized for the jungle, assists with hot or wet weather) • One wilderness survival kit, minus the medpac • A datapad, filled with her father's poetry And, if we can have a cheap weapon as well as a lightsaber, one ancient sword. (Her notes are obviously out there somewhere, but she's probably not getting those back.) 2 sinistar and Absol197 reacted to this
