jbsprague85 7 Posted August 28, 2016 I know the game is still months away and we have no idea where this game is headed in the future, but I'm super pumped for the possibilities and want to discuss something constructive rather than silly opinions about the "exploitative nature" of ccg's... So, I'd love to eventually be able to build decks around classic "teams". You have your original classic with Luke, Han, Chewbacca, and Leia. You have your Rebels group. You have the upcoming team for Rogue One. But from what I'm seeing so far, you'll only have room for 2 to 3 "character" type cards. Let's examine the current list of cards from our first set, Awakenings. We have 6 different "sub-types" of characters; Military, Force users, and Rogues, split between Villain and Hero. With the first set, it appears we have 4 characters within each of these types, with one hero in each type being "non-unique". In examining the full card list, I only see 2 "characters" that are actually supports. These are BB-8 and either Tusken Raid or Crime Lord (most likely Crime Lord, looking at the pattern of how the characters are numbered). Therefore, the chances of actually building a deck with all the members of one of these teams is quite unlikely. Given what we know of the core set, these characters will most likely end up as "Character" cards rather than support. For the future of the game, then, I can see a few things happening: 1. More characters as support cards. This would definitely need some "support" removal. 2. A new card "type" for "Allies" that will be played from the deck, with their own health. The goal would still be to primarily kill the "Characters". This would be similar to Allies versus Heroes in the LOTR LCG. 3. New official formats that allow for more Characters or 2v2 play. I hope and think any or all of these options would be cool and welcome in future expansions. Again, just looking for some cool things to talk about based on what we know and hope for in the future for this game. Can't wait until November! 1 Murth reacted to this

NoZone 30 Posted August 28, 2016 (edited) I've already been toying with the idea of a Rey/Han deck (Even though it isn't old Han). It could easily exploit the ability to get extra actions with Rey's character ability plus the ambush keyword. From what I understand you would be able to claim the Imperial Armory battlefield, play Holdout Blaster at a discount onto Rey, give her a shield from Han, and get two more free actions which could potentially rolling and spending her dice. Seems a pretty strong way to end a round. Edited August 28, 2016 by NoZone

Julia 2,809 Posted August 28, 2016 To the OP: the 30-point cap is fixed for competitive play. There's nothing forcing you not to break such a limit when playing with your friends, so, outside of tournaments you can field such a dream team. 1 JediGeekGirl reacted to this
vandalDX 7 Posted August 29, 2016 I think a Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker deck would be incredibly fun. My wife will be opening booster packs as fast as she can open them until she has a Jango Fett/Boba Fett deck (when a Boba Fett card becomes available in a future card series). Other ideas: a Padme/Leia deck (Mark Waid's comic miniseries gave me this idea), Qui-Gon/Luke would be fun because of the lightsaber crystal/Living Force hints, as well as others. I can't wait to play this game1 1 JediGeekGirl reacted to this

Rogue30 60 Posted August 29, 2016 Count Dooku - Devious Strategist Darth Vader - Sith Lord Kylo Ren - Vader's Deciple Jabba the Hutt - The Great and Might Jango Fett - Lethal Mercenary Tusken Raider Crime Lord Judging by the pattern: 3 uniques and 1 non-unique per color per affiliation, probably there will be: Count Dooku - Devious Strategist Darth Vader - Sith Lord Kylo Ren - Vader's Deciple Nightsister and Bala-Tik Jabba the Hutt - The Great and Might Jango Fett - Lethal Mercenary Tusken Raider
Wired4War 187 Posted August 30, 2016 Playing Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes on my tablet and finally finished my all Jawa team. Competitive? Not really. Awesome? Hell yeah. This is the kind of stuff I'll probably be doing in Destiny - Theme over competitiveness. 3 JediGeekGirl, Ywingscum and Blutsteigen reacted to this
