Ringskipper 96 Posted August 18, 2016 I'm sure we've had favorite hero threads in the past, but I couldn't find any about the whole of Terrinoth. So spanning across all the Terrinoth games (Runebound, Runewars, Descent, etc.), what are the heroes that you just absolutely must use? My favorite has always been Zyla, personally. I would love for any of the games to explore the Aenlong and what exactly the fae race entails. I'm super excited to use her in Runebound 3rd edition when her expansion comes out. Other favorites include: Andira Runehand (my favorite Descent hero) Shiver (absolutely love his design and very interested to see more of him) Rendiel (love them poncy elven bards) Seer Kel (one of my favorite designs visually) Red Scorpion (really hope we get her in Descent soon since she was in Runebound 3rd edition with a MUCH better re-design) Jonas the Kind (love his dark backstory and search for redemption, very Xena-esque) What about everyone else? It could be based purely on flavor/theme of the character or on the game mechanics that character brings.
rugal 589 Posted August 18, 2016 Personnaly, i'm fond with non-humanly things and "bad guys as heroes", so - Karnon, because he is a huge yeti and a really good one on top of that, who can go into battle and be stronger as long as he kills bugs (monsters ).- Steelhorns, even if his new style is a bit too much to me, he's still a non human killing machine, and still impressive ! - Ishper Too bad he does not have wings, but he is really cool and I waited him so much - Challara, with her dragon familiar (he could aslo have little wings ...), but he should have his own miniature. - Varikas the dead, as a undead hero, a antihero, and pretty cool one too I would have loved that belthir was a hero too That because of thoses that I played Descent in the first place. Maybe I would have not tried out the game if heroes were as usual as some other games
mulletcheese 695 Posted August 18, 2016 Maleki is my favourite, followed by brightblaze (+ hero). Steelhorns deserves an honourable mention.
SpawnGarret 168 Posted August 18, 2016 Wow, never thought anybody would like Zyla! I love the diversity though. My favorites: -Astarra - she is cute looking gipsyish girl and badass -Lindel - really like this elf going rogue -Tobin Farslayer - reminds me of Bard from Hobbit. Hope to see him soon -Chalarra - she is also cute and she has a pet dragon -Thaiden Mistpeak - a dark and crossbow-wielding dude -Alys Raine - I like her concept art snow whiteness -Jaes the Exile - it's already enough that he's a battlemage Looks like I like only mages and scouts, lol

mulletcheese 695 Posted August 18, 2016 Too bad Maliki never had a Descent official hero sheet, tough Which is why he doesn't make the other best hero lists. He is a hero of terrinoth and qualifies for this list, he takes top spot for being a kick-ass lion man.
niconico789 0 Posted August 19, 2016 Dezra-I love her art and the whole idea of her as a hexer right in the middle of battle Orkell-just one of my fav warriors overall. Andira-her back story is great and her ability makes her want to get up in the fight
Mlai 17 Posted August 19, 2016 I always thought that Zyla is a demoness. She doesn't really look like fae to me, not even Unseelie. I kind of want to buy Runebound games just so that I have some of the new heroes in correct scale. Then I snap myself out of it. 1 Luckmann reacted to this

Mlai 17 Posted August 19, 2016 Funny idea ! If I could, I would like to si if size fit better ! They do. The heroes featured in Runebound base game are all found in Descent 2e, and are all more to scale when compared to the D2e base game heroes. 1 Luckmann reacted to this

rugal 589 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) And my dream is to have druid metamorphing hero and many more non-humans things hero ! (and it's not like "i don't like the idea of hybrid class", I have it the way they did it. They could have donne hybrids class but no mashing thing, but more like making a class of warrior with healing abilities, for example ..., but locked thing and so balanced ones) Edited August 19, 2016 by rugal
Chaoticus 141 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) Do you think of some sort of shape shifter? Say, a healer in the druid form and a warrior/tank in the beast form? (Yes, I played Warcraft 3 once ) Would be very cool though. And my favorites (only regarding the style): Knight/Paladin-Style: Alvric Albright, Lord Hawthorne Clasic-Mage-in-Robes: Leoric of the Book, Dezra the Vile Scouts: Thaiden Mistpeak (it's the hat ), Tetherys, Laurel of Bloodwood Properly raging Dwarfes: Krutzbeck, Grisbane the Thirsty Cool Non-Hunaoids: Karnon, Zyla And my absolute favorite right now (style wise, I haven't payed this Game yet): The Rune Golem from RuneWars:The Miniature Game https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/02/23/0223b6a7-4b52-4d64-810b-22d160953554/rwm01_miniature_layout.png I'd love to see him in Descent. (He would have to shrink to fit a 1x1 base obviously). But having 4 arms? Maybe he would be allowed to wear more than 2 hands worth of equipment or gets a grab-like skill? I kind of want to buy Runebound games just so that I have some of the new heroes in correct scale. Then I snap myself out of it. Zyla's original design is definitely much more faerie-like. But the Aenlong If I remember correctly (where Zyla and the fae reside) is the neighboring dimension to the demonic Ynfernael, which might explain why Zyla looks more demon-like in the newer version. Pretty cool if you ask me.
leewroy 133 Posted August 19, 2016 I'll replay this way: not counting atributes, hero ability, and all. My favourite hero, still waiting a r2nd edition version will be always Varikas. An undead allied to heroes sounds awesome 1 BrianBard reacted to this

(He would have to shrink to fit a 1x1 base obviously). Golems are in D2e, as a monster group and weaponless. But yes, it could be pretty cool to have an especially fancy golem sporting weapons. Luckmann 112 Posted August 22, 2016 What's your favourite hero of Terrinoth? Pico. I cannot get over how unfair it is that the other familiar heroes in Bonds of the Wild (Challara and Vyrah) both get their familiars in their models, but Pico, who was included with Ronan in the 1st Edition model and art, is left out.
