Eyfrosyne 11 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) After debating about Heroes Tiers in the other thread, I would like to hear your opinion about Imperial classes. How do you consider them all? Do you separate in tier? Do you think some are better in Hoth, but not in core campaign? I would Say A+: Subversive Tactics (Any campaign) A: Military Might (too weak in last missions), Tech support. (too week in early missions) B:? C: Inspiring Leadership. (Maybe stronger on Twin shadows campaign). - Military might maybe is stronger in Core campaign than Hoth, since stormtrooper are already on field Edited August 14, 2016 by Eyfrosyne
Majushi 1,123 Posted August 14, 2016 Snow troopers are troopers too. In fact, I'd possibly rate MM the same as ST myself, but YMMV 2 CheapCreep and Norgrath reacted to this
a1bert 4,027 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) It's all about knowing how to play the deck for its strengths. Military Might is powerful early on, Technological Superiority is great with the droids (IG-88 and HK Assassin Droids are Imperial Droids in the campaign), and Inspiring Leadership allows some powerful combos for an imperial player who is good at positioning - and get rebels extra Stunned with the elite imperial officer attacking twice per activation. Subversive Tactics is annoying more than straight-up powerful. Its strengths are denying rebel abilities. Winning missions early will snowball even when the rebels learn how to play against it. I have yet to finish campaigns with the others, but all provide their own strengths, which should affect your playstyle, favorite units, and agenda set selection. And we'll soon enough get two new imperial class decks with their own flavors. How good the rebels player are and which heroes are selected can affect which deck you want to use, but now I'm more about trying them out and having a good experience than winning Edited August 14, 2016 by a1bert
Majushi 1,123 Posted August 14, 2016 I've been using Armored Onslaught most recently. Explosive Muntitions with Heavy Firepower is great. And I'm absolutely in love with the Mortar But the rest of the deck is par to sub par. I'd rate it a C+ or B if used effectively
Union 429 Posted August 15, 2016 I've used them all, they're all pretty equivalent except maybe armored onslaught in Hoth because it's a bit more open and a very large chunk of it's power is Mortar and a bit is Explosive Entry. Some decks certainly have some very weak "trap" choices in them that should be avoided like Riot Grenades in Military Might and most cards that you spend threat on. Some decks don't work as well as others against some heroes. Mortar for instance isn't quite as impressive with MHD-19 on the board with his Bacta Radiator mopping up all the spread out damage. Deadwolf 404 Posted August 15, 2016 I think the most of the class decks are fairly balanced. Military Might, Technological Superiority, Armored Onslaught, Precision Training all seem to be on a standard tier (I am only half way through my Precision Training but it seems fine). Subversive Tactics would be on the above average tier, as it is generally considered the strongest (tho it depends on the rebel group). Inspiring Leadership would be on the below average tier, I found it really hard to keep the officers alive. And while there are more leaders in the game now, they are unique and would have to try to recruit them first. I am very early into a Black Ops campaign. It is pretty early but I would also say it is in the standard tier. However, this seems to be one standout that is more powerful in a Hoth campaign. Two words: Hidden Wampas. a1bert 4,027 Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) The attachments of Inspiring Leadership work with Trooper groups too. There's a bit of talk about the 'good builds' of Inspiring Leadership elsewhere. Eyfrosyne 11 Posted August 16, 2016 Does precision training scales well with heroes? It has no defensive abilities at all. I've used them all, they're all pretty equivalent except maybe armored onslaught in Hoth because it's a bit more open and a very large chunk of it's power is Mortar and a bit is Explosive Entry. Riot Granades could be used against focued heroes (like gaar with red die focus).
