Shad gazes outside the viewport, beyond the pilot's consoles, at the flying beasts and concentrates trying to remember any information he might know about them.

Doran'enok, 8 foot long reptilian flying squirrils, with claws and scales comprised of some unique compound with impressive density. The clawmarks on the edge of the window where it snatched the buzzdroid show it's pretty strong, too.

The repiloid Doran'enok cntinued to chase the ship, but even wings are no match for starship engines, and the corvette pulled ahead, the swarm of creatures in pursuit.

"We'll hit the base defence zone in 60 seconds, the shield not long after. But if we hit the shield going this speed, there's not going to be much of us left. Do we start slowing now, take our chances with the natives, or do we try something fancy to slow down after General Kota scares off the birds?"

"Very observant of you, Tessrah," Dera mutters. "They've only been attacking the ship since they've showed up." She raises her voice again. "It probably is best if we slow—considering our track record so far, I'm not sure 'fancy' is going to go well—but those dragonoids are going to be a problem." She rubs her hands together to ease the pain from her earlier death grip on the chairs.

She glances at the door. "I wonder if there are any empty crates in the cargo bay," Dera muses.

Swiping the sweat off his brow, Kor stands "That should be it, Dera make a call to the base see if it works." Kor helps Tess off the ground. "Tess i never said the dragons were friendly just that I wanted to ride one, and I think I could take one in a fight if it came down to that."

"Thank you, well you may get your chance if they show up while we take care of these droids attacking the base. Too bad we probably couldn't get them on our side we could use flying monsters of doom. There are other domesticated flying animals in the galaxy you could probably ride. "

Shad calmly informs the others about the flying reptiles "they are called Doran'enok, they're sort of reptilian flying squirrils, with claws and scales comprised of some unique compound with impressive density. They are pretty strong and quite aggressive. Oh and i agree that we should slow down or we risk crashing in the hangar bay if we come in hot"

Turns to Dera and looks at her quizzically "Crates in the cargo bay? What are you thinking about, using the crates to distract and slow down the beasts?"

Dera nods to Shad. "They're attacking the ships, so it's obviously not food they're after. Crates wouldn't hold their interest for long, probably, but they're certainly willing to attack non-organic objects. It's worth a shot."

"These creatures are... angry, for some reason," Nimara said, wincing as he relaxed his connection to the strange creatures. "I'm not sure what it is, but I very much doubt that it's caused by us barging into their territory. We should be safe once we're inside the base."

Nimara slumped forward, catching himself against the side of the cockpit. Amidst the screeching fury of the draconic squirrel-things, he'd almost forgotten how exhausting maintaining such a profound connection was, and he certainly wasn't prepared to be cut off from it. A few deep breaths later, he shifted his position, moving to lean against the wall of the cockpit. His skills wouldn't be of much more help here, at any rate.

"At least you tried, Nimara. And one would imagine a battle going on in or around their roosts it what set them off. We just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time," Soryn replied, before switching his comm channel to Dera's frequency.

"Are you holding up ok? I have a theory that you're the reason we haven't crashed yet. So if no one else has said thank you, let me be the first."

Dera presses her fingers to her forehead. "I'm fine," she comms back. "Thank you for your concern. Tell Nimara that the dragonoids may have been made by the Sith, and that he should be careful if his plan involves getting in their heads." She again takes up her position between the two pilots, hands once again clutching the backs of the chairs. "It seems Kor will handle the crates. Get us to a speed where we can safely reach the shield."

Dera re-establishes the Battle Meditation link, more easily than before, and returns to her attempt to guide the pilots.

Tessrah pipes up "I don't believe it would be a good idea to open up a large cargo bay so some flying creatures have easy access to to the gooey nougat inside the ship... Especially if me and Kor are the first nibble."

"Just remember to save something for when we land. I don't think I can carry you and be the best with a lightsaber. Though it may be make a fair handicap for the others," the Pau'an replies with a small laugh, glad Dera is coping with the situation. Flicking back over to Nimara's channel, Soryn relays the information to the Mirialan, "Apparently these things may have been born of Sith experimentation. So as Dera said, be careful in attempting any link with them. The last thing we need is some ancient sorcery playing havoc with your mind, my friend."

Noting Vyrr's skills and frustrated at his lack of ability to do anything further to guide or repair the ship, Tessrah's comment has Soryn resolve to get properly involved with something he can do. "Well then, Tessrah, perhaps you would like to be the main course, while allowing me to be the appetizer? I can guarantee the creatures will have their fill should they attempt to dine with me... If we're continuing to use the food analogy."

"Enough with the food analogies they won't be eating anyone I'll make sure of that. These beasts may be big but I'm tougher." Kor grins looking at Tess. "But before we go charging in and risk falling off this bird of which I'm not too keen, there is probably a control on the bridge of which any of us can open the hold." Kor begins to search around the bridge for said control panel.

"Then by all means, open us up. I do love the feeling of the wind," Soryn comms back to Kor as he moves quickly to the cargo hold. "Also, if Dera is beside you, could you please ask her nicely to help keep the ship steady. I don't fancy falling out. Thank you!"

Shad stands up "I'll go to the cargo bay and help them, or at least patch them up if the draconids nibble on them" then opens the door and exits the bridge directed to the cargo bay.

Tessrah put her hand on Kor's bicep with a light squeeze "if there a control for the bay doors it's in the bay. However if it's true these are something a sith had its hand in I'm guessing that they are attracted to all the non-sith using their powers. Either way let's head down there are see if they like crates."

As they walked tessrah took off her coat keeping it tucked under her arm as she walked "if I'm going to get into a fight I'm not going to let this get in my way." where the stripes on her face were very strait and symmetrical the stripes visible on her back seemed to jut from her spine in long elaborate swoops. They were rather mesmerizing to anyone looking at Tessrahs lower back. The ones that were obscured by her top would undoubtedly be just as beautiful.

Kor walks closely behind Tess as they make their way to the cargo hold "I don't feel the fight is the problem, more of the falling to our deaths. The way this bird's been piloted I don't like our chances of not falling out of this ship." Putting a hand on the small of her back as they walking toward the back of the ship. "When I open the hold grab onto something, maybe I can get some rope to tie me to this bird." Kor looks concerned as they continue to walk.

Tessrah looked up at Kor with the touch. "careful I may not mind the gesture but others may be watching." she gave his hand a light squeeze before moving it away. "You can look but touch like that needs to be restrained for now." She walked a little faster ahead of kor her hips giving a little more swing she looked back "better?" as they entered the bay she threw her coat to a hand rail and walked to the control panel.

"Better, no I've had some bad experiences falling I've broken a few limbs over the years I'm not keen on opening the hatch without a harness on both of us" Kor says this as he moves between Tess and the panel. " Let's not be so trigger happy to open this hatch so quickly." Kor whispers in Tess' ear "I also don't think either of us would look to good as paste on the canyon floor, even if we're together."
