Demo team:

Reaching the final set of guns, you can see the droid advance forces already below you, a pair of tanks exchanging fire with the guns on the opposite wall as B1s and B2s advance by squads below. Behind them, droid transports carry the reserves. Just past the gunports, you can see the broad bridge of stone arching over the canyon that the demolition team will be dropping- your remaining soldiers point to a spot just past the next turn where they will be setting the explosives.

Medic team: The base is in chaos. The beast's body lays amongst the bodies of several support staff, and soldiers are engaging the sepratists's 1-droid hoverplatforms at the edge of the shield dome. you make your way toward the medical center, and find a line of minor injuries out the back.

Kor scans the battlefield below, "Yeah we're going to need to blow the bridge to stop those reinforcements or I don't think we are winning today." Kor looks towards the group with his hands on his hips, "Lets get to work! I guess I'll watch our backs, Vyrr can you set up bombs?"

Dera presses down on the button of her saber, and its blue blade hums into existence. "Let's go, then. Kor, Vyrr, we need to shield the demo team. Soldiers, stay behind us—we'll give as much cover as we can." She advances, saber held parallel with her chest. Her eyes dart around, taking in the battlefield. She can feel the chaos, dimly, at the edge of her senses—but she can ignore it. It's not so oppressive as the rage that boiled from the dragonoids. Her movements are still quick, but somewhat more cautious; there's no time to waste, but she's hardly going to charge in carelessly.

She presses her lips together, determined, and presses forwards.

"Alright, right behind you." Kor says as he ignites his blade, Kor keeps his eyes toward the sky Scanning for any sudden movements. "Dera, I think we are out of range of those Droids down there, however keep your guard up its the Dragonoids we need to worry about." Kor stays near enough to the working Demomen to protect them in case of attack, but far enough away as to let them work.. "I'm guessing you guys need to set charges on both sides of this bridge, right?"

After Tessrah helps the soldiers off and rushes outside, Soryn kneels down and carefully unties his now ripped and bloodied robe from the guns. He can't help but think it a good thing it was already a dark red.

Standing up and slipping back into his now rather tattered robe the gaunt Pau'an finds the nearest medical staff. "Thank you for taking care of these injured," he begins, shooting a toothy smile at the soldiers they'd brought back to base. "Is there anything I can do to assist here? I fear I am not much good with medical protocols however..."

The soldier shakes his head. "Demo Team Besh didnt have to worry about angry wildlife on the other side- they probably already have their charges set and are waiting for our signal. It'll be a few minutes to unsafe our explosives before we can bring it down."

Below, one of the tanks scores a good hit on the gun emplacement on the far side of the canyon, and pieces of ferrocrete bunker fall into the canyon. Now partially exposed, you can see some figures in republic uniform scatter deeper into the cliff-face, though enough remain to keep the guns firing back at the tanks.

Sorlyn is gruffly informed that the best thing he can do is stay out of medical personnel's way, and is quickly shooed out of the medical facility. Rejoining Tessrah, the two hear a squad of troops rally to head toward the shield wall on the canyon side.

Blast... I would rather stay out of her way... Soryn regrets as he jogs to join Tessrah. As the rally cry goes out, the Pau'an double checks the perimeter and scopes out the skies around the base, making sure they won't be quite so surprised by the inevitable winged beasts' attack as last time. Reaching Tessrah, he falls into step alongside her. "Well... At least we saved those two soldiers. Let us hope we can keep up the good work for the remainder of the day."

Tessrah noticed Soryn beside her as she was hurriedly moving to the soldiers. She was about to make a comment but decided against it ignoring soryn. She made her way to the squad and directed her attention to what had their attention.

Vyrr holds his rifle, readying himself to fire when they get attacked. Relieved that running is over for now, he slows his movement. He is wary of the dragonoids and allows himself to pay full attention to the possibility of their attack.

He addresses Dera and Kor, 'I'm not sure if keeping your lightsabers ignited is sound right now. Don't you think that it would attract unwanted attention from the seppies and their animals?'

Kor turns his head down toward his diminutive friend "I believe the separatists are to focused on their assault of our base to pay us any mind, the sithspawn however have shown a thirst for blood. But if what the private says is true, other team hasn't encountered any... yet." He turns off his saber but keeps it at the ready. "However you are right Vyrr no need to give them a beacon of light that reveals our position." Kor takes a deep breath and continues his watch of the skyes, keeping track of how many droid transports have passed. "Dera I think you should do the same, keep your Lightsaber ready but don't keep it ignited. Best to not attract unwanted attention."

I see we are still being overly emotional, the Pau'an can't help but think as he watches Tessrah take off. I wonder who her master is, to allow such indiscretion. Hopefully we all learn a lesson here, from this planet and its conflict. Looking up at the sky, Soryn watches small elements of the battle unfurl. Blasters, explosions, shouting. Chaos. The Jedi were meant to stand for order and reason, to walk into upheaval and bring peace. And what have I done, so far?

The demolition crew focus on setting the charges, and there didnt seem to be any evidence of  the bat-lizard cretures. Out the gunport, however, things arnt looking so great. The two tanks continue to blast away at the other, compromised gun emplacement, as droids and transports advance past the bottleneck. One of the tanks looks damaged, but both of them remain operational enough to press the attack.

Inside the base, the atmosphere is tense, the fighters and repulsorcraft dueling outside the shield just close enough to ratchet up the tension, without there being anything to shoot back at. Several of the greener units rallying near the canyon gate look nervous, certiantly less professional than clones would be.

Why exert their will with the Force when words do just fine... Soryn muses as Tessrah weaves her power through the minds of the men and women assembled around the two Padawans. Taking a quick look at their faces, he realizes that some of them are just as new to this as he is, their knuckles white and their eyes wide. Walking slowly amongst them, the gaunt Pau'an stops at two or three, speaking gently and making sure to look far more relaxed than he feels.

"Dear me, those droids are making quite the racket. Does not allow a person much time to think, does it?" he says to one man, giving him a small smile. Moving on, he reaches a younger woman, "What a nice day it would be, if not for this war. Perhaps we should suggest they program our foes with appreciation for the serene?" He hopes these comments will calm the soldiers, and make them realize that fear and anger are not something to be carried into battle, they only serve to harm the person feeling them as much as they want to harm their enemies. Checking around him, he sees a man lick his lips in anticipation, giving Soryn an idea.

"Who fancies an ale, after this? I think I could convince General Kota to break out a little bit if we do well today. I'm not much of a drinker, but I wager I can use my mystical powers to beat any of you in a contest!"

(So like, a Charm or Leadership test, Rakaydos? Don't mind which - tried to split the dialogue so you could rule either way)

Tessrah goes to the squad "don't worry gentlbeings they are just droids you will be fine if you trust your training"

As Tessrah reaches for the force, it feels like something oily twists in her grasp. Whether it was contact with the sithspawn creatures in the canyon and tunnel, or her own passionate reactions towards Kor, but she found herself calling upon a darker, easier power, going past confidence to righteous anger.

Pulling back at the last moment, the togrutan finds herself sweating slightly, the moment sticking in her memory.

Tunnels group

After another minute waiting and watching the other emplacement be demolished, the demolition team reports that the bridge is ready to drop. The comm jamming is still up- they can only hope that the demo team on the other side of the bridge isnt overrun yet.

The demolition team waves you back toward your own gun emplacement, safe from the coming blast as one of the team pulled out a detonator. "Everyone ready?"

Dera reaches the encampment and ducks behind cover with the demo team. Her saber is off now, the hilt gripped tightly in one hand. She braces herself with her other hand, and checks to see that Kor and Vyrr are also behind cover. When she sees them, she gives the demolitionist a nod. "We're as ready as we can be, I believe. Go ahead."

Soryn: Leadership check, hard difficulty, with a blue die.

--------------

The explosion was quieter than you expected, but as rocks start to settle the demolition team give a "...wait for it..." sign... as the rumble begins to pick up speed again. An echo of the explosion from the far canyon wall- no, the other demolition team- and the tunnel was shaking like an earthquake. There was a puff of fresh air down the tunnel from the explosive site, as light began to pour into the tunnel from the newly opened cliff face.

Looking over the barrel of the laser cannons sticking out of your emplacement into the canyon, you watch the rock bridge- several hundred tons of rock- rain down on the back ranks of the sepratist column, blocking the rearguard from joining the fight and crushing perhaps a quarter of the main body of the sepratist troops. Hovever, by this point the sepratist advanced forces were nearly to the base.

Tessrah pulls back from the force knowing what she felt "a Jedi does not take the easy path... The dark path." she said to herself. She recalled the discussion with her master Nintahsah.

"The dark side of the force is always willing to lend you a hand my padawan it lays in wait. Like a vulture it will circle you waiting for the most opportune moment to swoop down and consume you. Then once it is done it will find its next poor victim. That hand it extends is a hand from the depth of a ocean to drag you and anyone else you hold dear to your doom for its hand is very strong and unyielding. Take my wisdom Tessrah use your power to do good as good not to demand obedience. If the force does not answer you then it is not the will of the force. "

Renewed from recalling her masters wisdom Tessrah clenched her saber looking at the field of Droids marching toward the base. "I haven't forgotten master I won't let that hand drag me down." she worked her way to the coming battle.

Kor overlooks the effects of the bridge trap spring on the separatists "It seems the bridge has bought us some time, but we will need to head back to the base to aid in the defense." Kor readies himself for another sprint back to the base, streching his legs. "Dera lead the way it's a long jog back and we don't have time to waste." Kor continues to stretch until the group mobilizes.

'Shall we try to reunite with Soryn and Tessrah, or will we be heading right there, though?' Vyrr asks, still alert and looking around for the sithspawn. 'This lack of long range communications is creepy', he adds.

"Its best if we just get back to the base and help with the defense." Kor finished his stretching routine. "If we find them on our way back we can definitely reunite with them, however who knows if they aren't busy fighting at the moment, Vyrr trust in the force that we will find them later if we don't see them." Kor makes his way over to Dera putting a hand on her shoulder, "I'm ready to move when you are!" Kor gives her another pat on the back, as he shouts to the men "Alright, I'll be keeping pace in the back, no one can go slower than me, when Dera goes..." Kor points to her "...we go."
