"Who knows why Sith do anything?" Dera draws and ignites her saber, its steady hum adding to the general noise. "Obviously they thought these things made good pets." She advances, blade held in a defensive position, and circles around one of the beasts' sides. She stabs towards it a couple times, testing its defenses—and hopefully drawing its ire away from Tessrah and Kor.

"Come on," she hisses. "Look at me. Look at me." It turns to look at her, and she strikes without warning, ducking under its head and carving a gash down its side. As it hisses in pain, she jumps back again, returning to a defensive posture.

Dera's turn:

Maneuver: Draw lightsaber

Maneuver: Engage dragonoid 2 (taking 2 strain)

Action: Attack dragonoid 2 (9 damage)

Recovering from a brief knockout delivered by the sneak attack of the tunnels' devious ceiling, Vyrr hears the sounds of arrived trouble.

In a fit of panic he yells, 'Help me out! Help me out!' Only noticing that he managed to do the deed himself post factum, he assesses his surrounding, pretending that what just happened didn't.

As he regained his posture, he immediately reached for his blaster rifle.

The assaulted dragonoid reels back, but it's counterpart presses Kor past the other jedi, buying it's companion time to recover.

Kor parries the beasts attacks with ease, however try as he might to get past the unhurt beast to strike the dying one, Kor is blocked by the beast's sudden advance, Kor takes this reckless assault to his advantage and aims his fiery yellow blade into the dragon's chest.

(Well poop. The boost die no one claimed turns out to be a dud anyway.)

The strike lands true with the beast reeling in pain, Kor takes this time to inject another stimpack. Kor turns his head to see how the group is doing, and notices Soryn halfway across the hall "Is Soryn ok?" as he says the Dragon recommences its attack almost taking the Cereans head with a rather close bite.

( 9 damage and 1 advantage I'll spend that on another boost for the next roll.)

Action: Attack

Managing to bring his blade down to defend just in time doesn't stop the beast from launching Soryn across the tunnel, his body bouncing off the hard rock wall behind him. Slumping to the ground, the Pau'an struggles for breath before forcing himself to his feet, a thin trickle of blood running from his mouth from where his sharp teeth bit his lip. His back was definitely injured, but he was still hanging in there, somehow. "Is Soryn ok?" he hears Kor call out. 

"I am fine," the gaunt Pau'an replies with a grunt, standing tall in spite of the damage to his back, "Worry about me later!" Summoning his fading strength, the boy falls back into a fencing stance, keen to dispel any concerns the others have until they get the time to deal with it. His master always warned him that he got too reckless when things weren't going his way, but it had always worked for him in the past, so it should now too. 

Charging in, blade darting forward, Soryn attacks the last creature with a rapid series of stabs.

It's still fine bladework, and many of the thrusts hit home, searing into the flesh of the vicious thing. Soryn staggers a little, his back burning in pain, but he keeps his footing through willpower alone and continues staring down the creature with his saber held ready.


Outcome:

Out of turn incidental: Parry (this plus soak reduces damage taken by 4)
Action: Attack the last creature - 7 damage

Dera jabs at the remaining dragonoid as she circles around to where Soryn is. That doesn't look fine, she thinks but doesn't say. She waves her saber at the creature, hoping to keep it at bay, and raises her other hand to touch Soryn's presence. Instead, she finds her mind opened to the chaos of combat. The dragonoids are a dark presence, anger boiling off them like steam. Soryn, beside her, is radiating pain despite his assurances.

Caught between, Dera falters, drawing in a sharp hiss of breath. She returns her attention to the fight, but the moment is lost and her half-wild swing goes wide.

Dera's turn:

Maneuver: Engage Soryn

Action: Heal Soryn (failed)

Healing Soryn: 2eF 2 Dark Side

Tessrah slides past Kor and makes a slice at the beast her lekku fly gracefully in the air as she spins in the air her Saber comes downward in both her hands as she strikes home with her blade

She twists the blade as she pulls back letting the force flow around her changing the tide of their fates. Her power was strong and caused vibrations in the force around her.

Still disoriented from the blunt trauma, Vyrr spends his time pulling out his rifle and carefully pointing it at the living creature.

He yells at his allies, 'Give me a clear shot!'

Manoeuvre: ready the rifle.

Action: Aim.

The last creature disengages, jumping over the rubble pile, and trapped demolition militia scream a stones shift under the creature's weight. It starts to tear down the corridor, heading back into the base.

"Vyrr! Shoot it before it can do more damage!" Dera says. Then she turns and sprints to the rubble pile. "Kor, Tessrah—help me dig out the demo team." She kneels down and begins shifting rocks, though with occasional glances towards the fleeing beast.

Tessrah walked to Soryn taking out two stim packs. Holding them out she deactivates her Saber "here I think you need these" she takes another out and gives herself a dose of stim and begins to help pull the demo team out.

Kor turns off his blade and moves to the rubble pile to where Dera is sitting struggling with a boulder, "Dera I'll handle the heavy lifting you do the healing." As he says this he cracks his knuckles and takes a deep breath.

(Rocks moved at least for one guy I heal 3 strain.)

Kor moves the rock with ease as Dera gently pulls the soldier out from under the rock his leg looking like it had seen better days. "Alright Doc do your magic, I'll see if I can find others under the rocks" Kor gives off a smile and begins to look for more trapped demomen.

Gratefully accepting the stims, Soryn administers them immediately, giving Tessrah a smile that is part grimace due to the pain. "Thank you, I very much appreciate your aid. I trust you are uninjured?"

Tessrah simply stares at Soryn for a few moments before she helps Kor with the soldiers in the rubble. "I still remember how you treated me earlier soryn my memory isn't that short. I'm doing this because I have more compassion for others than you deserve from me." she turned flicking a lekku from behind her shoulder back to over her front where they normally belonged.

While some of his strength has already returned, Vyrr's injuries were showing - despite his efforts to line a good shot, the shaky hands made what should have been a sure hit into a miss.

The beast flees around a bend in the tunnel heading into the base. you can ony hope the base can deal with the creature attacking from the rear while fending off a frontal assault.

 

The sergent of the demolition team is dead, crushed by the rubble, and most of the others have injuries of various severities when you unbury them. Fortuntely, their gear is not set to go off by accident, so there's no immedite danger, but two of the team cannot walk.

Tessrah pulls a communicator from one of the injured soldiers. "sorry, I need to give the base a heads up." she calls whoever will listen. "There is a creature of ill temper headed towards the entrance to the tunnels you may be wise to have a few people greet it with some resistance." after she gets confirmation she clips the comm to her belt. "so, everyone able to move we should get going soon as we can the clanklers are sure to be enjoying their march."

As Dera tends to the pair that are unable to walk, she glances back at Tessrah. "Let's not rush into another fight when some of us and ours barely made it through this one, Tessrah. And the sergeant didn't make it through at all. We cannot afford any unnecessary attrition." She closes her eyes, focusing on the wounded.

When she's done what she can, she stands up and addresses the demolition team. "If you can go on, get ready to move out. We've a long way ahead yet, but we will make it through."

After Dera heals the two wounded soldiers Kor stands to offer a hand. "We leave no man behind, you two with me, you each get a shoulder to lean on." Kor with some assistance from Dera gets the two injured soldiers to stand with some effort. "Plus I don't think we Jedi have much clue on how to deal with high explosives. We will keep you safe while you blow up the canyon." Kor turning to the group with a smile "Let's get back to business, someone lead the way."

Tessrah mutters to Kor "I seem to be passing off everyone today I wonder if I have something wrong with me." she gives some help with the soldiers he's carrying as much as her thin arms are capable of.

"There is nothing wrong with you get that thought out of your head. Everyone just seems to be on edge we are under attack, even though you think that your acting without blame Tess you are being a little passive aggressive with Soryn and Dera. This doesn't help the group, continue to be compassionate but without mentioning how much nicer you are, it does no one any good and it comes off as bragging at best." Kor gives Tess a hard stare his facial expression serious "It'd be best if you learnt to chill you and Soryn. We need to keep our cool now more so than ever, men have died under our care the last thing we need is to collapse due to Infighting. Let's sort everything out later we have a mission to complete." Kor continues to help the two injured bomb techs to walk, as the group continues forward.

The confirmation held a great deal more swearing than you are used to in the temple, but it was mostly not aimed in your direction, and the soldier on the other end cut off the call as they started to give orders.

The minor injuries are doing better, but you know to be cautius about broken bones, as without proper setting they could likely heal wrong, a painful long term injury.

 

Being carried isnt going to do them any favors either, but time is not on your side. Hustling whille carrying an injured soldier is an athletics check with 2 red and 2 purple difficulty- but it's not you who will be taking threat, it's the soldier.

Kor begins to lag behind as the group presses on, he is unable to move quickly without hurting the two soldiers to either side of him. "These two can't go that fast, not unless you guys want to undo the good work Dera's done on their legs."

Vyrr keeps to the back of the group, watching their surroundings for the signs of any threats. He occasionally glances at the injured demolitionists, causing himself feeling a combination of pity towards them and unease.

'How long is it to our destination, again?' He whispers loudly.
