What's next after Chains ?

I'd like a RTL app update or add-on (which I'd pay for!) to play the Heirs of Blood and Shadow Rune campaigns with the app AI.

God yes! I'm itching to throw money at FFG for more campaigns. They should be able to add more campaigns every few months as they have the ground work done and it is more of a toolbox setup now for future campaigns.

If not then hopefully open it to the community to make campaigns.

I think they are not only development a new campaign :P. And hope for a new one in the same category as Heirs of Blood for RTL.

 

Oh yes! A nice campaign book please. :)

 

Aren't they reworking the shadow rune?

While I agree with most sentiments discussed above, I think you all may be glossing over how difficult it can be to not only come up with all of the creative content for a custom campaign, but also what it takes to program it into the app, as well as sufficiently play test it so that it actually works well.

 

I don't intend to be mean with this next comment, but the statement "...They should be able to add more campaigns every few months..." clearly is inaccurate.

 

I also want to see much more content for RTL.  I also would like the campaigns generated to be LONGER in length.  Something that more closely matches (or exceeds) playing D2e normally ... i.e. 3 ACT I quests, an Interlude, 3 ACT 2 quests, a Finale (as well as all of the side quest stuff).

 

As long as there is sufficient auto-saves (or better yet a MANUAL SAVE implemented so I can save the game state whenever the hell I want), I don't care how long the campaign is ... the longer, the more immersive, the better.

 

But in order to get all of the quantity and quality described above, I don't mind if it takes 6 months to a year to generate it.

 

I should also note that I would be a fan of somehow integrating the Quest Vault and the app, so that custom campaign's could be created by the user community ... I just don't know how FFG would actually go about achieving that.

As I said before, not seeing a quest vault integration or some sort of map editor soon. And for 5 years time window, to little good content come from quest vault, but who knows? And second,they will capitalize the app capacity to sell new campaigns and features first.

As any2cards said, good content need some time to produce. And I am curious because the possibility for new improvements ;)

I hope the next expansion will contain at least a few new search cards. The search deck is the most static thing about Descent, and it could really use an expansion.

I was just thinking this myself. How many have been added so far ? Less than 10? They need a card only expansion.

The only cards really added to the Search deck were the Secret Passage cards from Lair of the Wyrm and The Trollfens to implement the secret room stuff.

 

I am not sure what type of cards I want in the deck, but I would love it to be about twice the size that it is.  I know for sure that it would be nice to perhaps have a one-time use card that provided a really nice weapon (and no, the Fire Flask is not a really nice weapon  :P).

 

One card that also may be nice to have is a one-time use card that allowed you to remove a hero figure from the board until the start of that hero's next turn ... kind of like making them invulnerable to anything.  Another card could provide a one-time use to make a hero stealthy (requiring 3 additional range to hit the hero).

 

Stuff like that.  Nothing too OP, but something to add variety.

And in therms of potions: how about a potion which heals half the max health and stamina simultaneously for and action and another one which makes you immune to conditions for 1 or 2 turns? Or a potion/item which adds a green or yellow dice to your next attack. Ulma would like such potions :)

 

I totally agree with you any2cards, the search deck needs variety.

Maybe some new search cards specific to RTL, like potion of speed (gain x movement points in this turn), potion of invunerability (or potion of invibility), you cannot suffer any damage, take no other actions, cannot be target for any type of spell or skills, etc.

I couldn't agree more: I am still baffled that the search deck has all but been ignored by the developers. I am not going to play less Descent because of this but it goes without saying that an expanded search deck would add to the fun and tension when doing a search action. Not knowing exactly what you are going to find is half the fun. Neither should it contain too many cards but a (slightly) different search deck depending on the scenario could go a long way. The posters above have given interesting possibilities for new search cards. As Takeda suggested, I will gladly pay money for a card only expansion that remedies this. Pretty Please FFG  :).
