Hawkstrike 5,410 Posted August 4, 2016 No. It isn't. Unless. You like. Reading a book. Narrated. By William Shatner. As Captain Kirk. 4 Budgernaut, incinerator950, Crabbok and 1 other reacted to this
fistfulofforce 394 Posted August 4, 2016 I'm also enjoying it. I like the interludes that tell single stories from across the galaxy gets me daydreaming.
Richard_Thomas_ 326 Posted August 4, 2016 I read it when it first came out last year and didn't really enjoy it, but then read it again a couple of weeks ago so that it was fresh in my mind going into its sequel, Life Debt. I really enjoyed it a lot the second time around.
heychadwick 11,357 Posted August 4, 2016 I enjoyed it, too. Yes, it wasn't great, but I read it as a bed time story with my son. It was great. OK...we listened to it on audiobook. Maybe that helped.

rubberduck 555 Posted August 5, 2016 After I finished reading Aftermath I donated it to Goodwill. I still feel a little guilty about it, after all you aren't supposed to donate garbage. 4 Hobojebus, Budgernaut, Scopes and 1 other reacted to this
Animewarsdude 3,639 Posted August 5, 2016 Might I just suggest reading Lost Stars and having a much more enjoyable reading experience? 2 Sentinal and rubberduck reacted to this
Sithborg 11,644 Posted August 5, 2016 Lost Stars and Bloodline are definitely the highlights, and I enjoyed Aftermath and loved Life Debt.

I tried to read the X-wing series, but just couldn't get 100 pages in.

I am beginning to seriously question your judgement sir! I know the X wing series isn't exactly high fiction, but Aftermath?....wow! 1 Hobojebus reacted to this

fistfulofforce 394 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) It's fine we all have different opinions on the book. That doesn't mean you guys who hate it have to push your opinion on us who like it. This thread sounds angry over opinions of a book. Relax Guys. Edited August 6, 2016 by fistfulofforce

Everything after still makes me want Traviss back. That is how long he wrote it. Not the the full time it took to make the book (see, editing). Amazingly, there are some who are fast writers. And placing Legacy above Aftermath is rather dubious. At least with Aftermath, you aren't having the authors clearly having fights in their books. eMeM 3,188 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) I've bought Aftermath soon after it was released. I AM STILL READING IT. AFRER A YEAR. The best value for money I ever got from a book, each page takes hundreds of hours. Edited August 6, 2016 by eMeM 1 Scopes reacted to this
Jo Jo 4,808 Posted August 6, 2016 I read Lost Stars right after Aftermath. I suggest that since Lost Stars will be even better.
heychadwick 11,357 Posted August 8, 2016 The Bounty Hunter Wars were worse. I haven't read 17 EU books and am happy to just stop at this point. I tried to read the X-wing series, but just couldn't get 100 pages in. Bounty Hunter Wars were top-tier, what the heck kind of "Star Wars" do you like? The Bounty Hunter Wars was nothing but Boba Fett porn. Dengar was sad and pathetic in the whole thing. Everything was just how awesome Boba Fett was. All the other guys were just losers for him to push over. It was trite and uninteresting to me. What kind of Star Wars do I like? I liked Tarkin, A New Dawn, and Lost Stars well enough. The Thrawn stuff was better than the Bounty Hunter Wars. Thrawn stuff was just OK, though.
