MoffZen 760 Posted July 29, 2016 Remember the 44 points for you leaders taxi is not wasted, it can be used as: 1) bait for the foolish 2) an end game threat 3) an easy activation to use for trap setting or getting out of trouble. Raiders by their nature need to be nurtured and give the right environment to perform or they die without purpose, so using one as a taxi does not nessarly go against how you would be flying it anyway. But if you play your Raider to work in concert with the team, you will not only bait the foolish, but the good players as well ! I wouldn't have the same issue with a CR90A for instance, since it can contribute at long range. But the raider quite wants to be in the thick of things... Definitely not saying you shouldn't do it, I'm saying that it might cause some problems in terms of fleet usage. It's also pretty risky to put the admiral on such a fragile ship. I've had a Raider one shotted by a CR90A with Ackbar due to a Structural Damage Crit, so it might happen.
toyship 8 Posted July 29, 2016 I tend to agree with not having one's Admiral on a small base ship with pretty negligible shield and hull, but I can definitely see playing keep away with him working. It does take away from the overall firepower of the list to have one of the damage dealers running away the entire game. All that being said, are there any tactics I should know about with Raiders? It seems obvious that I should keep them out of my opponent's best arcs to avoid as much fire as possible, but do I keep them together and use wolf pack tactics or do I scatter them? Jondavies72 575 Posted July 31, 2016 I've been playing demo, fireball and four raiders for a while now, so unless I stick ouzel in demo a raider is the only place I can put him. He has not been taken out yet...... 1 54NCH32 reacted to this
