I may have a solution for the ship resource. But it would take until possibly the second or third session to acquire, barring complications...

If that fits the narrative you have in mind that sounds like a good plan to me.

Indeed. However, it doesn't hurt to attempt negotiate with the GM.

So I have 2 solutions:

 

1) Take over the archaeological research ship

 

2) find a stripped down but still functional medium freighter on a junk planet for free (something like the GR-75, Space Master, or Wayfarer-class but with higher customization hard points and other stats altered) and spend your 85,000 credits on upgrades for it

I apologise again for not being active for the last several hours. Am I correct in assuming that it is late for me to try to join the regular group? If so, and I am still able to attempt to join the reserve, what is the difference?

Yes unfortunately it is too late to join the active player group.

 

The reserve group exists to primarily allow for a rotation of characters should a player be unable to "attend a session"

All this talk of Starships is making me think Navigator/Starfighter Ace would be a good combo, Rin has the agility to do it, as well as being a mechanic on the ship when it's in need. Takes away the duplicate Shadow thing too. Is anyone else interested in Piloting in the long term?

So cliche demands that someone says:

Now that unpleasantness is over, I vote for a YT-1760, and if I'm allowed a second vote a Mentor. I'd love to get a YV-929, but they're completely out of our price range. I also have:

And the votes are in!

 

With a unanimous vote of 6-0 in favor, a Starship will be the group resource for the Modern Misfits. Three votes have been cast for the YT-1760, two of those votes are from the players who have our two Modern characters.

 

With a majority vote of 5-1, a Mentor has been voted as the group resource for the Jedicicles. Two of those votes were for a Holocron which also acts as a Mentor - something that isn't outside the realm of possibility (the Chronicles of the Gatekeeper module has something akin to this) - this would take no small amount of thought and a bit of tweaking to the Mentor/Holocron rules. Bearing this in mind, the vote would be an even split for Holocron and Mentor at 3-3
