Fine, the propagandist would be more of an agent, but a really scummy one that mostly promotes their team by spreading nasty rumors of the opposition.

The politico is just much more overt about it.

I want this book now! Literally started an account today cause I was excited on how fast FFG has been churning out books for Force and Destiny. I'm also glad it's a sourcebook for one of my PC's as my group has every class except a Mystic so I was hoping for anything but a mystic sourcebook.

As in regards to the pit crew party, don't they need a nemesis like a Racer-X to our Speed Racer.

I just realised the Protector doesn't need much of the actual talent list, they could also have the Peacekeeper Specialisation so that during a race they are on the Pit Wall guiding all the team using their Leadership, this would change the team to be:

 

Podracer, this is the driver obviously, they drive the thrusters off the thing... literally some times!

Rigger/Moder, this is the lead mechanic, they get the thing tuned perfectly, also drives the team transport.

Entrepreneur/Gambler, This is the Team Owner, manages finance, gets the sponsorship deals done, found the talented Pod racer to begin with.

Sage, This is the data analyst, and lead strategist, they sit on the Pitwall during races. Battle Meditation is their actual speciality though, letting the Podracer access the exceptional skills of the entire team even when out on course at breakneck speeds.

Protector/Peacekeeper, Team Principle, Mentor to the Podracer, Sits on the Pit wall during races and uses leadership with Field Commander and Improved Field Commander to get the most out of the team, also team doctor and bodyguard to the Podracer, keeps the Podracer in peak condition even after a night out celebrating their latest victory.

 

I can imagine there is a team of droids to go with this as well, some mechanics, others in analysis rolls and support rolls.

I just find it amusing you can basically use Investigator/Sentry to have Force-Sensitive Batman.

 

Investigator will likely borrow from Marshal.

 

Racer will be 'Force-sensitive Driver' most likely.

 

Sentry seems to be the Sentinel version of Warden.  All the F&D careers seem to have a specific 'dark side hero' spec thus far.

 

I wonder if one of these will have the Lightsaber skill?  I was hoping for a Sentinel version of Armourer personally.

 

The Sentry is a good candidate for that, which is a hunch based on nothing other than that the two other specs don't seem like good candidates. Sentry screams Batman/Green Arrow to me.

 

 

 

I wouldn't mind seeing the Mikkians. I thought they were cool, though we only got a brief glimpse of them. Though I will not get this whole pretty thing. I don't think FFG is all that bad on the matter. Unless we have a very narrow definition of the pretty races. FFG for the most part has seemed to do a fairly good job on providing visually appealing species for us to play.

I get that some people are more bound to mainstream conventions when it comes to aesthetics ... but in cases where other species are involved, it's basically elitist, prejudice based aestheticism? Right...?

 

I'm very excited about the city adventure stuff, and hope they add more or expand upon the morality issues for Sentinels, as hinted to in the article.

1) "And Sentries take crime personally, meeting violence with violence and intimidation." This seems like a retread of the Aggressor's and/or the Warden's role. Hopefully it's distinct enough to feel different while also complementing those two for mixed spec characters.

 

Learn the ways of the Force.

Maybe a propagandist for a cheerleader. Though, some of the talents deal directly with Duty, so you'll have to work around those.

 

I think the Propagandist may be able to use Bad Press against opposing podracing teams. It seems like it would fit thematically, with what the RAW suggest. Opposing podracing teams seem like a reasonable target for that ability.

Current pattern is "Traditional Jedi career > Non-Traditional career"

Which means that, should the pattern hold, the remaining three books will be: [Mystic / Warrior] > Consular > [Mystic / Warrior].

And I'll be honest, I really hope the Warrior is last...

I seriously doubt the Bounty Hunter book will be the final career book out. My intuition says that it will either be the Mystic (boo ) or the Warrior. They've definitely slowed down the announcement and release rate of Edge books, but to make the Bounty Hunter book last, they'd be waiting at least two more years for Age and Force to get all their other career books out, and that doesn't make much sense.

 

 

While I doubt that the Bounty Hunter book will be the last, it'll be a while before we get to it. We're overdue for a Edge sector book and we're REALLY overdue for a canned game. So it will probably be at least two product cycles before one drops.

If I manage to kill of my Warrior Player and turn him into a Mystic I'll root for a Mystic book but until then I want Consular and Warrior first. My Sentinel is definitely excited to be Batman.

Maybe Sentry will mostly use Deception and Stealth, and the conflict talent will use Deception to instill fear in opponents somehow.
