Entertainment Weekly shows new Rogue One TIE Fighters

Recommended Posts

Looks like a new TIE fighter on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's newest Rogue One issue!

I'm not familiar with all the TIE variants - is this one that we've seen before or is this new for Rogue One? Either way, pretty sure we'll see this in Wave X!

It'll be the same as for Wave VIII for the T-70 and TIE F/O; they're already in production and will be released with Wave IX in the last quarter of 2016 to coincide with the release of the movie.

Edit: This is how the House of Mouse works

It looks sleek and fast as hell; first 4 Agility ship?

Not sure I want a 4 agility ship with Stealth Device and Palp available. But hey, couldn't be any worse than trying to hit Soontir, right? Especially if it comes in with only 2 attack.

Stealth Device would make it a little crazy.  But make it tissue-thin, like 2 hull and no shields, which would also help keep it really cheap.

Ghost auto blaster against a swarm of those would be hilarious to watch.

considering it looks like a phantom missing a wing i could totally see it being a 3die attack phantom. Not sure if that would be worth it though, since the Phantom's main issue is if it doesnt fire first it blows up. However if they hold their usual pricing scheme for -1 die being around 8-10pts, it could easily be a filler ship being priced around that of an interceptor but has cloak instead of TL.

Wouldnt be able to take the adv cloaking device though since thats phantom-locked.

Do we have an official name for Jyn Erso's buddy? Lyle Kabarn or something, right?

And OP, I had seen the leaks, but this image seals the deal, so it's welcomed news. Very cool. Well, except that, as has been mentioned, the Tie Striker is a more mundane Tie Phantom.

Cassian Andor actually :)

I would love a Rogue One Core Set since I have zero interest in any of the ships from the Wave 9 or Heroes of the the Resistance Expansions. I do like the designs of the Tie Striker and the U-wing, however.

2 attack. 4 agility. 2 hull. Would be cool

This is what I was thinking too. Initially, I was thinking a cost of 10 for generics but that extra agility would make the little guy extremely hard to hit. That should drive the cost up around the 14 point range. Also, it should have limited upgrade ability. We don't need nigh-unhittable crack swarms.
