Theory crafting, Invincibiggs

Trying to make a list designed to keep Biggs alive as long as possible. Not worried about offense.

two focus one evade, Garvin's tocken will come later, not sure about the droid though, any thoughts?

Omega leader would rip this apart. All he has to do is target lock Biggs and then every evade and focus is worthless against him. But only against him. The increased defense die would still work though.

Not sure if R2-F2 is the right droid for Biggs. Using his Action for +1 Agility means 1 less Focus/Evade token.

For the same points you could take R5-P9 which would allow you to spend any unused Focus tokens on regenerating shields.

Agree that R5-P9 is the way to go. You also really want a turret on Kyle, otherwise his damage output is basically 0 (and spending 20 points on a ship with no offensive capabilities is a bad idea). I'd drop Draw Their Fire on the HWK-290 and probably Cracken; Cracken doesn't have enough health to make it worthwhile and you're going to be seriously limiting yourself if you try to stay in range of the HWK. Besides, you only really need one ship with it since presumably not many crits will be getting past Biggs' insane defenses. If you drop those, you can put Dorsal Turret on the HWK (it's not great but way better that the primary weapon) and VI on Cracken to ensure he gets to shoot before things start shooting Biggs.

Ghost obstructs attacks giving Biggs (who is hiding behind it) +1 green die.

Jan Ors turns Biggs focus action into an evade.

Kyle uses Rec spec and title to be a focus battery, giving one to Biggs while till having tokens from previous turns to power his blaster turret. TLT is too expensive to squeeze in.

Gives you 3 to 4 green die for Biggs with both focus and evade. Should the dice fail you have the ability to cancel extra hits and eject his astromech.

The list isn't completely gimmicky as all three ships are still good when one of the others dies.

Down sides, can't quite squeeze TLT on Kyle or upgrade the VCX to Chopper.

You could drop respect from the crow and gamble on banking enough focus early on to make some tweaks elsewhere though.

Go experimental interface on Biggs you can get focus(evade from Jan) and the extra agility.

Yeah you can. Drop AC for FCS, then you can upgrade to TLT. On an inexpensive Rebel build, you should be bringing the 4 dice primary to bear more often than you will use the ABT. And FCS still works with the ABT, so you aren't sacrificing much at all to get it. With that done, you may look at switching Recon Specialist to something else. You'll probably focus every turn anyway, so Rec Spec seems counterintuitive. You could swap Jan to the HWK, then throw Hera and Han on the Rebel. Works quite well with FCS, and again, makes it so even when Biggs goes down, both ships are still viable threats.

I know, I know, "Stealth Device on Biggs isn't good because he gets focused down," but my thought is, as long as it doesn't break on the first attack (he should have focus and evade for it, so it has a good chance) then it's done just as much as an IA would, with potential to continue doing work. Plus my meta isn't very U boat heavy at the moment, so he isn't having to dodge 4 hit torp shots. Rage Keyan doesn't need FCS, and I couldn't think of anything else to put anywhere that would make a difference, so I kept a 2 point bid. I was running R2-D2 on Biggs, but found I can get a focus on him almost every turn somehow, but green maneuvers make me predictable, so I made the switch.

It's pretty much impossible to make Biggs invincible, since his ability requires he gets focused down. I've seen him do amazing in 150 point games, where the player was good at controlling ranges very well. 100 points though just makes it hard for you to counter all that's out there.

R2-F2 is not a popular choice but as someone who doesn't own the Transport and prefers not to proxy (run what ya brung kind of guy) R2-F2 is my pal for Biggs. Except when he flies around wearing nothing but the stache.

As for R2F2 using an action: if I am reading it correctly, the plus to green dice works for every attack that round, where as your token only works once. Might be worth it early game. Obviously not good if Biggs is only getting shot once/turn.
