Joe Boss Red Seven 11,292 Posted June 5, 2016 Okay my First Order Brothers... just how happy does this make you? LOOK DAT CUTE UTTIL MINI BLAST BLAST OUT DAT ASS ASS! Blast it! I thought I was going to be the first to publicly bask in the glorious radiance of the TIE/sf, but you beat me to it! Seriously, though, as much as I love the Scum faction, nothing is catching my aesthetic eye as much as this little beauty. Yes, it's just another TIE. Yes, it looks very similar to the TIE/fo. But the differences just please me so much! It's gonna be a great model. We need bout six... don't we.

I didn't realize the TIE SF model actually has a turret; I assumed there wasn't one because of the stand. FatherKnowsBest 0 Posted June 6, 2016 Very happy with the design of Fang Fighter and Shadow Caster! Shadow Caster just needs some mable syrup and it will be ready to serve! I don't even play Scum but I want to run two fangs and a shadow caster now.

Joruus 161 Posted June 6, 2016 Wow they look awesome! Love the Fang and Arc. If they came from full packs.. didn't anyone manage to spot some unspoiled cards?
T70 Driver 1,257 Posted June 6, 2016 The Shadowcaster looks like some one took the USS Defiant from Deep Space Nine and the Romulan Warbird from the episode Balance of Terror and combined them into one ship. Don't get me wrong. I love the look of the Shadowcaster but she reminds me of those two Star Trek ships. 2 Vigil and FatherKnowsBest reacted to this
Beatty 1,730 Posted June 6, 2016 I can just see myself painting the Shadowcaster in a plethora of different military camos: Olive Drab, Navy Grey, Desert digital... *drool*It will definitely help it hide in the foliage out there is space.

FTS Gecko 23,148 Posted June 6, 2016 I've never been super fond of the ARC - and the fact that LFL seemed determined to sell them like the Second Coming of the X-Wing didn't help - but since I like 95% of the prequel ships better than 95% of the original ships, I'll probably pick one up. Maybe have it be escorted by a couple of T-70s. I have to admit, the ARC looks really good up close. It's got a weathered, beaten old look to the paint job and the model's really good. The TIE/sf looks very sleek and modern in comparison, as it should be. 1 Tsiegtiez reacted to this

Don't get me wrong. I love the look of the Shadowcaster but she reminds me of those two Star Trek ships. This. Good on ya mate for everyone who likes the ship, but it hits my eyeballs as waay too Star Trek, (and even a smidge bit Firefly). and the Protectorate fighter looks like a M3-A thats been spun around. Which is nobodies "fault" (pretty sure the artists that designed the two didn't have a chance to compare notes or consider each ship being in a hodge podge crossover like this). Oh, gonna pick up two, looks like fun and I even do like the design... just can't unsee the "reversed Scyk" profile. all the /sf's... don't even bother, I've already preordered the production run. 1 Kdubb reacted to this
Managarmr 2,079 Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) Really love the ARC's battered look. It's also going to be a great painting base. And taste is different: Some hate the Arc, some hate the Shadowcaster for it's lazy design. As written before: Even to me the Fang looks A LOT like a reverted Scyk. Unfortunately FFG could not know that the Fang would appear in Rebels, otherwise they might have ignored the Scyk. Now it's too late. It will look really stupid if you field them together. And the Fang looks far too clean for my taste (do not even get me started about the Ghost and the Shadowcaster) Edit: typo Edited June 6, 2016 by Managarmr

Ob3ron 167 Posted June 6, 2016 or, if seismic torps are any good (they're not shaping up to be normal torps as apparently they're fired on ACTION:), drop Shara down to Stay on Target, Targeting Astro and Hera [33] and give Norra bb-8 [38] leaving 3 points after biggs to hopefully put the torp on someone I'm fairly certain that Seismic Torpedoes are for destroying obstacles. The end of the article states that this wave has "upgrades and ordnance that literally change the shape of the battlefield", a clear reference to the Shadow Caster's droppable debris and the Seismic Torpedo as it is the only ordnance in the wave. Fascinating--can I say that on a Star Wars thread?--I asked about the possibility of ordnance being capable of removing asteroids (or mines, I suppose) and was vehemently told that it would never happen. Wish I had the care or time to find where I posted, but looks like I had a real vision of the future!
THEMANONTHEM00N 846 Posted June 6, 2016 my hopes and prayers go out to the tie/sf for the 3 ps generic to have an ept, and to be cheap enough i can run 4 with a decent loadout at 100 points. god bless and my the force be w/ u little coggies
ficklegreendice 34,359 Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) I doubt the ps 3 will have an ept (need to give the 5 a reason to exist) but if it's a 22 pointer, it might be very usable then you can run four PS 5 crackshots if you want Edited June 6, 2016 by ficklegreendice
charlesanakin 399 Posted June 6, 2016 Anyone else think the arc is oddly too wide and not long enough? Gotta use that "CAPS" key. I thought you were talking about the base card I was nervous. Lol. It's hard to tell from the pic given if the Arc is indeed too wide and not long enough. I can see what you're saying though.
Ken at Sunrise 2,064 Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) I'm not attacking any designers? I'm saying FFG took a model of something really awkward to physically produce because of it's shape and protrusions, and made a bloody good job of it. As someone who works with injection molding machines regularly, I can appreciate the hell out of how they've executed it (the guns on the X-wing still fascinate me from a molding standpoint). The Lucasfilm designers put out something that looks, frankly, ridiculous. It's not the first time they've done so, and it won't be the last. Considering the number of wild looking ships they invent every year, some of them are always going to questionable. Not everything can be as instantly iconic as an X-wing or ISD. I still don't like the offset propulsion on the Jumpmaster, or the offset cockpit on the Falcon/Outrider, but it's not going to stop me from using them in a game for fun. I thought they made perfect sense if: Edited June 6, 2016 by Ken at Sunrise
