SEApocalypse 4,443 Posted October 31, 2016 Fenn Raus ability will not bypass the Inquisitors, gauranteed. Bypassing was never an option in the first place, and I don't think that the inquistors ability does trigger fenn raus ability either, but the protectorate fighter title, now that is really interesting. I am in the camp of "if autothrusters don't trigger than the title should" and I really would like to see this on context of giving Old Teroch a bone. Speaking of him, his ability naturally does not trigger either from the inquisitor. Speaking of triggering: I don't know why, but Quizzy does trigger me too, maybe because I love that pilot far too much, he might have taken a position is close as it gets to Soontir in my heart despite his lackluster lore. He is that good ship based on mechanics that I am actually rating him higher than Fel.
markspeed 20 Posted November 1, 2016 Can we please just let Quizzy... snip Your constant referral to the Inquisitor as "Quizzy" makes me want to take the opposite side of any argument to you(regardless of which side is correct), and do so belligerently and with a lot of personal insults thrown in. I won't, but I do feel it's important you know that at least one person finds that really, really annoying. (I'm not saying you should stop, you be you.) Quizzy finds your lack of humour disturbing! However, I find your faith to contrarianism commendable. But I must say... Don't be to proud of this Queens English argument you've constructed. The ability to be contrarian to a word used in jest, is insignificant next to the power of humor. Sun Tzu- Know your contrarian.
nitrobenz 1,369 Posted November 3, 2016 (edited) Rau no because he says "enemy ship". This is like Boba, Jax, etc. Concord Dawn Protector yes because it says "When defending, if you are inside the attacker's firing arc and at Range 1" This is like (inverted) Autothrusters; I believe "the attacker" (as written) applies to both the firing arc and the range. If "the attacker" does not apply to the "Range 1" then what are we measuring range 1 to? Something that is not actually on the card? Basically, all the abilities that are not triggered by Inq.'s ability share the term "enemy ship", while Autothrusters (the only card to date that is officially affected) has the term "attacker". No other card prior to Concord Dawn Protector has referenced range to the attacker. Yes, I do see that they added the extra "and" in between the arc and range, but the next part of the card "and the attacker is inside your firing arc" still references the attacker so even if you lumped the Range 1 into that half of the sentence it's still the attacker's range, not the "enemy ship" If the title would not trigger it would have to be re-worded: "when defending, if you are inside the attacker's firing arc and the enemy ship is at range 1 inside your firing arc" this way we have a source of firing arc (the "attacker") and a separate source for the range (the "enemy ship") Edit: formatted and expanded Edited November 3, 2016 by nitrobenz 1 Stu35 reacted to this
