killerbeardhawk 457 Posted June 9, 2016 GMRen - can I spend starting credits on lightsaber crystal mods and try to install them as part of character creation? with only 3000 potential credits it looks like you would only be able to purchase a training emitter, curved hilt or cyclic crystal array. There is no try as far as attachments goes, its not a check. Modding those attachments is what requires the mechanical check. I have attachments in my armor already. Unless theres a problem with using cyclic crystal array as its a ® item. I've got 500 credits and I'd like to get a Crit mod and a Damage mod at 100 each So you are looking to mod crystal attachments not add attachments. Never mind I was thinking different. killerbeardhawk 457 Posted June 9, 2016 I've been thinking a lot about my character Jost. Strong force sensitive with the ability to see into the future. Has a "Spider sense" and is able to react before combat. A question for the group is whether he is gimmicky or not. Not trying to be lethal but is there not enough going on with him? Should I make a different character? What's lacking in our group?
dtdunn 55 Posted June 9, 2016 Jost is a powerful force user, but very focused on the force with few other skills. This is a very narrow focus, but a great addition to a team. Force ranking of 3 is will allow for impressive actions. Move, or "Force Push" is very powerful when you have a high force rating. He can be the "I know the force" guy for the group. Perhaps put more ranks into Lore (over time)? 1 GMRen reacted to this

He talks big in his armor and never needs to throw a punch or shoot a blaster. 1 GMRen reacted to this

GMRen 196 Posted June 10, 2016 do have some play by post questions. i have a 3 once per session talents. what are "sessions" in a play by post? is it just until your next experience drop? Just saw this, it would be at every experience drop, when I give you more than 10 XP.
dtdunn 55 Posted June 10, 2016 I have been putting the speaking parts in bold, but it looks like the bolded text isn't very visible (in the IC thread). Does anyone else see the bold very well? I may have to switch to a different color for speaking parts.

GMRen 196 Posted June 11, 2016 See SM some great pistol mods. You found each other in the desert, that provides a bare glint of fellowship right? 1 Jedi Ronin reacted to this

dtdunn 55 Posted June 11, 2016 Doesn't the difficulty start at simple (no difficulty) when it is your 'own' lightsaber? I am thinking of the information in the GM kit from FaD page 23. Let me know if this isn't correct. Not that it would change your rolls, it might be important for the 3rd+ mods though. 1 GMRen reacted to this
Jedi Ronin 1,588 Posted June 12, 2016 The GM kit covers lightsaber hilt construction. The core says when modifying your own lightsaber the mechanics check to add a Mod is reduced twice (starts at Hard).

Anything stands out as being good. I was considering giving my pistol the Set Trigger from FC and Laser Sight from DC. But not familiar with the mods from SM.
