Snipafist 7,536 Posted May 10, 2016 One thing that occurred to me yesterday: A base GR-75 with Leia and Repair Crews is a mere 25 points and is superlative for "oh crap" moments where you'd like to both remove a damage card from a heavier ship and set its command to Engineering to start regenerating shields like crazy. Leia in general seems like an easier fit on a GR-75 than a CR90 and due to their fleet support role it shouldn't be difficult keeping them close to use her ability. An alternative setup would be the Comms Net upgrade + Leia. You reveal the dial, convert the top dial of another ship to the desired command, turn the GR-75 dial into a token, and then pass it off to someone else. Combine those abilities on the same ship and you've got an on-demand Raymus Antilles dial+token. Pretty sweet.
Tirion 2,223 Posted May 10, 2016 3) I think this wave will further restrict the options avalaible to the imperial player, effectively retiring the VSD. Yeah, I know VSDs are like the metal in tenacious D song: one always thinks they're outdated but never really gets rid of them. However, as I already stated in a topic I made some time ago, I don't really think the VSD2 is still a viable ship, and VSD1 was good only because of its ability to command a lot of squadrons for a relatively cheap price and with a lot of hull to chew through as a plus: now it's only a slow, thick, outdated ship. Well, the increase in competitive TL options other than x17s will also help the VSD a good bit, though I still think that not granting it the option for a def retrofit was a big mistake and the main reason for the VSDs downfall. Otherwise I agree with your analysis, good points! they would be way to durable for the points!
