And the GR-75 preview is here

Recommended Posts

Still:

GR75 - 18pts

General Cracken - 26pts

Adar Tallon - 10pts

Boosted Comms - 4pts

Bright Hope - 2pts

60pts that is **** hard to kill. Now where did I leave Keylan?

still easily one shotted from an ISD of MC80. even a lucky roll from an ackbar guppy.

Scatter

Lyraeus - Bomber Command goes on the GR75 WITHOUT the admiral thats running around in the middle of the fight, blocking ISD's, pissing on Demo. You know the valient stuff.

Maybe. Depending on if an accuracy is rolled. If not than that red dice is useless. OH and if you are attacking my Rebel Transport I am happy.

Now if it is this one with my commander. . . well. . . no thanks.

Okay, I really do like this news. The GR-75 is going to really give Rebel fleets a proper Rebel feel - bringing more focus to squadrons and tiny refurbished civilian vessels.

I can't wait to CRUSH them for their impudence!

Hmmmm, if I ever win World's (fat chance), that's the title card I'd make: the Impudence. Adds an extra scatter token to the GR75.

As my rebel playing friend pointed out

Slicer tools + Quantum title = potential to slice 2 ships in one round with one flotilla

Nope, Slicer Tools is exhaust on use. Noticed this a couple days ago.

what a relief

It should be an Officer and it should replace the Evade with a Scatter.

Also a good thing to note. The Transport is FAR more maneuverable than the Gozanti!

Which is curious. in X-Wing, they have the same maneuverability, except that the Gozanti is on the standard scale of X-Wing models, whereas the GR-75, which is a bigger ship, is at a smaller scale.

But, I'm fine with that. It fits the Rebel play style.

Clever FFG they have just made a ship that you could potentially want to buy a whole bundle of. That's why it's a wave of two, I'm betting they are thinking they can suck up everyone's free "armada" cash with just two models. In my case they have got it right, I'm going for four each........

the gup is probably not doing it.  but at medium, an ISD2 front or MC80 command side is very likely to get at least one accuracy and 4 damage.  worth it to take down the admiral for sure.

on the flip side, 3-4 few shots from some TRC90s would do it too

with an intel officer a glad would do it on a double arc.

I think these ships are awesome, but they are definitely VERY fragile, and to command squadrons they can't be TOO far from the fight. luckily they can take boosted comms.

Super excited! And on top of this announcement, my copy of Armada just arrived in the mail, (with one of every expansion still on their way)! Monday nights at the FLGS are set for X-Wing and Armada, now!

Side note, I'm very relieved that the third wave is notably smaller. Large scale tactical warfare should progress in a much more measured fashion than the dog fights of X-Wing. Small changes can have big effects, and I'm glad to see FFG allowing time for wrinkles to be discovered and ironed before creating more waves.

And now, back to painting the remaining ~40 miniatures of my Imperial Assault collection.
