Do other systems have a bunch of actual play podcasts? Are SWRPG players just that more narcissistic that they think that everyone wants to hear them play their game? Nah, there are some other good ones too. Narrative games might work better, like Marvel Heroic RP, Dungeon World, different Fate games and other, but one of my original favourites, the one that got me into actual play podcasts is actually a dnd 4e one. It is called critical hit and has some great storytelling and roleplaying, just skip the boring combat episodes;) Also, check out One Shot by James D`Amato, he is a great GM and he and other improve comedians play a lot of different popular and indie rpg`s. People interacting and joking like friends can add to that experience. You should check out One Shot by James D`Amato. They are improve actors though. One of the players is in that, and it has great production value. I think Campaign is a great podcast, including the first 6 star wars episodes from one shot. The combat is definitely typical of 4e (though Rodrigo still makes it interesting to an extent), but everything else is great. What Rodrigo made great are Skill Challenges! Rodrigo`s take on skill challenges is the most narrative thing to ever come out of dnd, and they are absolutely great! And so easy to insert into other systems! The combat episodes are downers though, I get so disappointed everytime, why can`t they handle combat with skill challenges too?.. and I actually like 4e... 4e combat does not translate into the audio medium or maybe not any entertainment at all... It was fun and exighting to listen and learn when the game was new, but that got old fast. Really love when they just roleplay it though. The Superhero FAE episodes are great. What FrogTrigger describes is a great couple of hours of DOING roleplaying, but a terrible couple of hours of LISTENING TO roleplaying. We have yet to see a The Adventure Zone for SWRPG. I've listened to the Acquisitions Incorporated podcasts of their games at PAX for several years, and those are pretty **** funny. The descriptive stuff about the room and layout is pretty easy for me to follow in my imagination, from years of gaming. So I don't have too much issue with that. And the dialogue is funny no matter what. Absolutely, that is the key to any great RPG, right? But when you get people who find their voice needs to be heard more than others, does that not ruin a good RPG? I find that these good RPG type podcasts are difficult to find in the Star Wars genre. Again, check out Critical Role ! Thanks. Sounds like most gaming tables I've been at. Lots of loud talking, bull around the table, and goofing off. Bakerphant 4 Posted June 21, 2016 Some friends of mine and I just started up a YouTube channel and are producing an Edge of the Empire campaign as the starting point for the channel. We're also going to be doing some other stuff too like survival horror Dread adventures, have a D&D campaign in post production and a friend of mine is pretty good at miniature painting so we're going to feature some tutorials and model paintings. A majority of our content is aimed at 18+ audiences. The Star Wars EotE campaign is entitled Legacy of Ash and we just put out our second episode with more to come.
