Rocmistro 1,090 Posted May 4, 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAAp_luluo0&feature=youtu.be I'm an old fart, romantic and traditionalist, so I'm voting for J over G. Maybe that's betraying my fellow American, but so be it.

Drasnighta 26,831 Posted May 4, 2016 Eh, I never really liked either of their styles... Which is really odd... You'd think that my love of Frank Herbert would put me in J R R Tolkeins camp, but it doesn't....
Caldias 2,209 Posted May 5, 2016 I appreciate both, but without J there is no G, so J it is. Plus, at least one of them actually finished a series. 1 Rocmistro reacted to this

WuFame 1,269 Posted May 6, 2016 I really appreciate what Tolkien did but good lord I could not get through LotR. It's so slow. I absolutely love the lore and the movies. I can get lost on the wiki, but man those books were a chore. GRRM is a more entertaining writer IMHO, but I appreciate both men's creations.

That pure fantasy writing, in particular, grates on me? And the fact that I enjoy Science Fiction?
Lord Tareq 704 Posted May 6, 2016 Literature-wise J, no competition. I love the GOT series, but that has probably more to do with the directors and everyone else involved and not just G.

And that you painted a very cool looking clonisher for clon, and that I don't have one.
