HAPPY GAME OF THRONES DAY!

Recommended Posts

i suppose so but its something the medieval lot really hate so I learned to stop using it as a term and I sort of dislike seeing it myself now :)

Call it armour snobbery!

Or you could go real snobbery and be all like:

"Chainmail? You must be talking of the precursor to Dungeons and Dragons! mmm, yes quite." :D

I think she said 'claim him as your own or Robert will kill him'

Or words to that effect.

Pleased to see things pan out pretty much as i expected in a lot of ways.

Manderly rather than frey was 'late' this time.   I honestly dont know why they didnt stick to the books in that sense as the 'frey pie' revenge by Arya was a little daft..  like she's have the ability to kill them, carve them and cook them in the freys own kitchens :)

Only thing that surprised me was tommen.

And while you dont see it , Dany is clearly going to land in Dorne.

I also feel chuffed i was right in thinking that they would 'big up' the minor northern houses to give them a better fighting chance.

Manderly, Glover.. the other one everyone forgot about.    And i'm sure they can and will bring in more.

I thought she was going to land in Dorne, but now I'm not so sure. The overland route out of Dorne is long and brutal. With Highgarden and Dorne already on their side it seems like a Stormlands landing would save all kinds of time and keep KL from having time to mount any defense.

I was going to ask about the possibility of someone from the Sept still being alive (since one or two of these characters are doing completely different things in the books). Then I watched the scene again. Nope.

Poor Lancel - close, but so far.

Cersei's got some serious Charlize Theron Snow White and the Huntsman stuff going on.

Haha!!!   Saw it last night.  Really liked it.  Makes me wonder how much it will be different than the books.  I can see quite a bit being different.  Still......very cool episode.

I was stunned about Tommen.  What a..........soft headed puppy.  Well, that makes it a lot easier for Danny to step in and take over with either no one left alive or no one left caring.  I think even Jamie is going to bug out and leave Cersei.

The Arya scene was pretty cool, even if not realistic.  She is taking the place of Stoneheart and Manderly with killing the Freys.  Still not sure what she's going to do in the books.  Doesn't spoil much there.

So......I totally see Danny landing and everyone cheers.  Cercei gets killed and Danny takes over the Iron Throne.  She marches on The North.  Bran shows up and tells everyone that Jon Snow is really R+J's kid.  That puts the whole Danny thing in a new light.  He relents to King in the North in the face of 1) Dragons, 2) Family, and 3) the Others.  Everyone who is left marches north to fight the Great War.

Dany lands, Cersei blows up KL. Dany inherits a city of ashes. Then the dead arrive.

Not sure what will happen up north. In the books I suspect Jon will use all those men to man every castle on the wall. But they have barely mentioned those castles in the show, so maybe not. In either case I think the wall falls and they are driven back into winterfell as the dead wash over them and further south. Then we get the south defending itself while the north tries to stab out from winterfell and end it somehow.

This is where we disagree.  I totally think that the fight will happen at the Wall.  I think Danny will show up with her Dragons and there is a big fight for the various forts and such at the Wall.  I think the magic of the Wall will stop the Others from being able to cross over.  I think it will be a terrible fight even with Danny, the dragons, and all her forces helping out on the Wall.  If the Wall fell, then I don't see them winning at all.   I could be totally wrong, of course.

I do think that they skim over the various forts on the Wall due to it being simplified for TV.  Might talk about them during the big fights, though.

Nice to see Varys has a transporter. From Dorne to Daenerys' flagship in a heartbeat. ;).

Also, if those Unsullied plan on standing in formation the whole trip...

King in the North, Queen in the South, mess in the middle.

Season 7: the fight for lower Westeros.

Season 8: The long night, battle against the Night King.

That would make for the shorter seasons while still telling a bit of a story.

Shame they ended up butchering the books, but what can you do. :P.
