Snipafist 7,392 Posted April 21, 2016 The news article on the flotillas said that the point cost would be more comparable to a squadron than a ship. So are we talking like 25-30 points base cost, in theory? Are there going to be people bringing 4 of these things to really capitalize on activation advantage? Forum consensus is somewhere between 15-25 points, but we can't say so for sure. The unarmed GR75 transport variant likely will be the cheapest. 1 Saryn reacted to this
KAGE13 242 Posted April 21, 2016 i'm hoping the Gozanti will have a 3 or 4 squadron command...for the same price as a squadron.
Saryn 9 Posted April 21, 2016 i'm hoping the Gozanti will have a 3 or 4 squadron command...for the same price as a squadron. Might get 3 on the alternate card, but I doubt we'd see 4. The one we've seen has a squadron value of two. 1 KAGE13 reacted to this

The one we've seen has a squadron value of two. A squadron value of 2 is what I'm expecting as the high-water mark there. Given they'll be cheap and Command 1, it's a pretty cost-effective and easily-done Squadron command on demand. If Gozantis get an Offensive Retrofit slot they could go up to 3 (with Expanded Hangar Bays) or long-range commanding (with Boosted Comms). With Tarkin around to push the "Squadron tokens button" on crucial turns, they should still be able to command an awful lot of squadrons for their expected points cost. Ardaedhel 10,807 Posted April 21, 2016 i'm hoping the Gozanti will have a 3 or 4 squadron command...for the same price as a squadron. Zero chance of a natural 3 or 4 squadron command on those. That's Star Destroyer numbers of activations for ~25 points. Cheap activations specifically synergize with the Imps' cheap squadrons, they won't cut them that low. 1 Tirion reacted to this
Hastatior 1,444 Posted April 21, 2016 I have not been a fan of the realities of Wave 3, but secretly in my deep dark I have a hidden hope that there are a bunch of other SKUs that were meant for this wave that LFL put the breaks on thanks to Rogue one. My secret hope is that they are being secretly produced alongside the flotillas and will be made available immediately once Rogue One hits, no waiting. Would make for a happy Prack filled Christmas! 2 OgRib and Mikael Hasselstein reacted to this
Truthiness 5,428 Posted April 21, 2016 I thought this was Wulff Yularen, but the Rank is wrong. His rank is Grand Admiral, I'm pretty sure. I'd be willing to bet that this is an original character for Rogue One. Some people have also said this is supposed to be Tarkin, but I seriously doubt that. They would have at least CGId his face to be more true to Peter Cushing. Has Armand Isard been brought up? I would think that would be obvious. 1 Saryn reacted to this

Thraug 1,019 Posted April 21, 2016 And the next news should be a full(?) preview? I believe these arrive a few weeks before the products hit stores, somewhere near to when they are on the boat?

JJs Juggernaut 1,832 Posted April 21, 2016 Cool Stuff has the wave 3 release date (subject to change) as July 2016. If its pushed back a week into August it would coincide with a Gen Con release, which isn't unheard of for FFG. 2 KAGE13 and Saryn reacted to this
Gottmituns205 1,595 Posted April 21, 2016 The GR75 should be squadron 0 and the Gonzo should be squadron 1...let's be honest here for a moment...the most it could carry is what...4 tie fighters at most? The CR90's only had squadrons due to the forward cargo hold being refitted to store ties or x-wings...Warlord Z(whatever?) had a CR90 with a refitted forward compartment and a heavy tractor beam. 1 Formynder4 reacted to this

Assault carrier gozanti already shows squadron 2 on the wave 3 preview. I'm suspecting there'll be a squadron 1/2 variant of each for the rebs and imps. Squadron 0 would make for really strange situations involving squad tokens! I'm hoping one of the '75's is squad 2 and can somehow take an exp hangar. It would make putting BCC on one extra yummy! I always said squadron value as a measure of how many squadrons the ship can reasonably direct while doing other stuff, not how many squadrons it can carry. I mean, obviously, there's some balancing play at work here too. 3 Stasy, jhox and Green Knight reacted to this
OgRib 388 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) I never equated squadron command values with actual hanger bays/carrying capacity; I pictured it as an AWACS/command and control role capability.
