Green Squadron 3 and I have had so much bad luck trying to schedule our game, he said he just wanted to concede. Of course, that's no fun, so I would prefer playing against a bounty hunter if someone is willing.

 

I am Central time (GMT-5) and I can play Thursday evening, Friday evening, or Saturday.

Sorry mate, I don't do Rebels unless it's take the station then I might do 2 TRC90s with engine techs. But I'll pretend they're mercs of course

So FYI, I am probably just going to be on tomorrow and I will play the first Rebel that Volunteers.

Any objections?

I might (stress might, depending on whether or not my fortitude holds up) be able to play Tuesday night, about 8:30 or 9:00 PST. If you're still on Clon I can try Biggs's list on for size.

Clontroper5 vs Biggsirl (ginkapo sub) is OVER!

 

 

result 400-250 my favor. we played Minefields... MY minefields :P

 

 

it was a good game I used my activation advantage to make reeikan and defiance a non factor, sniping 2 vettes in a row wit demo the end of turns 2 and 3 and laying a trap for the mc80 with Dagger (exl Raider). I miraculously rolled the exact amount of damage i needed to kill his ships every time, no more, no less (unless you count the time i hit his zombie for 8 damage for kicks)

 

 

it came down to the wire and a couple of dice landing slightly differently could have really messed up my day

Before Clon does a full report, I would like to inform you of this.

 

The entire game came down to one roll. just a single roll. Gred, one of the YT2400 twins had the opportunity to take away Daggers opportunity to fire a final front arc into the braceless MC80.

 

But which way did the dice go?

Look this isnt how you build suspense, by posting before me.

 

Well there we go. GRED MISSED. WHAT A UTTER LOSER. I cant look at my YT twins the same way again, if he had hit, Defiance would have survived to keep 214pts of mine on the board at the end.

 

It makes me feel slightly better to know that its Biggs who doesnt look after his YT's properly. MINE DONT MISS.

My YT's miss 25% of the time ALL THE TIME!

Having played your list now, I like it. In hindsight I needed to use an extra squadron command on defiance.

The other thought is that a single bomber would give the threat of squadrons using crit effects. A lot of crits really hurt, whereas yt2400 nibbling doesnt really weaken demolisher much.

LTD vs Sanguinary Dan (Part II) has come to an end at 1:40am local time.

 

The Rebels were victorious under General Cracken (who rarely used his ability), Defeating Tagge (who never used his ability).

 

Rebel losses: 1 TRC90 and 4 A-Wings (4 imperial tokens)

 

Imperial losses: 1 ISD1, 1 Raider, 6 Tie Interceptors (7 Rebel tokens)

 

Score was 155 to 352, with a 197 difference.

 

 

Bounty Hunter LTD will send his invoice in the morning....

 

Good first game of Vassal for Sanguinary Dan. Nice work, sir!

So my computer may be dead. Its had a good run but what I thought would be an easy fix has lingered and I'm not sure I'll be able to fix it at all, let alone in time to play my game. If anyone wants to take over for me, please let me and PT106 know. I haven't given up all hope but at this point its not looking great given time constraints.

Its very frustrating because I didnt get to play him at regionals and I wanted a shot at that fleet, because I love the concept and I know he flies it well.

It is really supposed to have Dash in place of one of the YT's, Jaina's Light on the CR90A, and essentially nothing but squadron commands from Defiance.

Plus some different upgrades on Defiance...

Flying admiral Garm Bel Iblis, and my very first time ever using Assault Frigates without Gunnery Teams. Part of the challenge for me will be using someone else's fleet, the other part being remembering not to try fire at two targets from the side every turn :D

And we're off to a heck of a start. It is my 4th game of Hyperspace Assault in a row during this tournament, but frankly when using Yavaris and massed bombers one never tires of it :D

In turn 2 the Imperial Star Destroyer was reduced to 5 hull by the same schwerepunkt tactic I posted earlier in this thread. Unfortunately Miferr is clearly a good player and may be able to get away with the ISD dramatically burning but not destroyed, which will leave the game wide open (and maybe the hull of one of the Frigates too ;)).

 

We should be able to resume the game tomorrow.

Finished my game versus Vip.

 

532-169 in my favour. 363 MOV 10-0

 

Alan (Scout Torp, TRC's) died to save his buddy Scott. Alongside him fell Luke Whiffwalker, Virgil (YT2400) and Brains (Hwk290)

ISD, Impetus and Incestrous all died along with a YV and Jumpmaster.

 

Vip selected Fire Lanes from my objectives, and the obstacles were deployed in the middle of the park. Two fire lane tokens in the obstacle ball, One of to the right.

 

From the deployment is was going to be tough for Vip. Two Raiders and the ISD headed towards the two tokens with asssault frigate and 1 TRC MC30 waiting. The other raider.... well his welcoming party was a OE, APT MC30 and Jaina with TRC's. That Raider died turn 2. From there on the ISD had limited shots as the rebels overloaded one raider arc at a time. Both Raiders died with full shields on 3 sides.

 

On turn 4 the ISD activated first, killing one MC30 and leaving itself with all three rebels ships in black range and with 5 arcs on its front hull. They did the business.

 

Fire lanes is punishing, 15 tokens more than makes up for any losses, turning a reasonable victory into a whitewash.

Yup. That's why it's a regular staple in my objective pack. I'm finding myself playing Advanced Gunnery more often than not because it's at least easier for the first player to get a fair amount of points off of it.
