thanosazlin 52 Posted April 13, 2016 i must say FFG doesn't respond period. i submitted this question to them via their website, which i thought fairly important, almost a month ago and still not even an email to me stating anything or that they are looking into it. So, i won a store championship, was given a bye card. i then found out later on my regional is smack in middle of my vacation and i won't be able to attend any other regional as they are too far away from me. so , i posted on my local community FBook group to give it away, and the TO in our area stated , that if i did that and anyone showed up with a card and had filled in their name on the card, that person would be banned for life from FFG organized tourneys (per some FFG rule) if their name didn't match with FFG for anyone that won a store championship. where is this rule and where is what he saying posted by FFG? 1. where is all this type of low level details posted? 2. i know of another store championship in my area where the person was given a blank bye card with the player name not filled in 3. how do we know that every store reported their store championship winner? and how many stores just didn't fill in the player name on the bye card? FFG really needs to respond to me or post something about this subject. they should have made players submit their name for the bye card like we had to do for the metal token from the store championships, then print the player name on the card and print "not transferable" this is just totally ridiculous and how do i know what the TO is saying is even true? i can't just take someone's word for it i need FFG to respond or post something on their website in the store championship section. Mogrok 526 Posted April 13, 2016 I know mine wasn't filled in...but I do know that at all 4 store championships I went to they submitted the winner and the winning list...whether they submitted the bye if a second place person got it (due to a previous winner repeating) I don't know. thecactusman17 3,192 Posted April 20, 2016 The store was required to send your name etc to FFG. While I don't know about banned for life, I do know that the announcement for the Store Championship indicated that the bye was non-transferrable. You could also inadvertently cause major trouble for your store in the future. Anyone can go to the Regional events, those without a bye card are just forced to play in the first round. So just keep it as a trophy.

At the very least purchasing a buy on EBay, etc is in bad taste, and apparently it could also get you banned from OP. Shy of an official statement from FFG, what your TO says is, at least for that tournament, law.
Green Knight 9,746 Posted April 20, 2016 So you can essentially give another person your win? That's an odd practice. Never even imagined it was a possibility.
WuFame 1,269 Posted April 20, 2016 In my opinion it's not very in tune with the spirit of the game. 1 Green Knight reacted to this

I believe there is a crayon amount of leeway when you actually get the bye, of you already have one or if you know in advance you won't be able to attend it would go to the next eligible player in order of placement (second, third etc) but then the store had to tell FFG who got the bye. 1 Green Knight reacted to this

I have a feeling that that's a typo but I love the idea of the person who bought it crossing the winner's name out and writing their own on the bye in crayon. 1 thecactusman17 reacted to this

If it could be passed down to the runner up, then it makes some sense. Otherwise not so much.
