Amaimon 132 Posted April 4, 2016 (edited) Horton + BTL + R2F2 + Stealth device + Autoblaster turret + Adv proton torps + bomb loadout + proton bombs Dutch + BTL + r2d6 + Daredevil + experimental interface + Autoblaster turrent + adv proton torps + bomb loadout + proton bombs Tala sq Horton when attacking on range 2-3 can reroll blanks, unfortunately none of his secondary weapons can shoot that far. He is also very dodgy. If he uses his action he can have 3 dodge until first hit! (no tokens) Dutch has daredevil with no boost - so he will kill himself using it. Both are very dangerous if at range one. But thats about it. Edited April 4, 2016 by Amaimon

ChahDresh 390 Posted April 6, 2016 Congratulations to everyone who participated! I had some fun seeing the things people came up with. Some I expected-- like using Extra Munitions or Advanced SLAM on their own, or using Expose ever. Some I didn't, and that's great! First, I wanted to mention a few things I'd come up with. Option one is Action Starvation. Kyle Katarn Blaster Turret Sabine Wren + Conner Net Engine Upgrade Expert Handling There are some good cards involved with this! We're not exactly loading up on Expose or Advanced SLAM. The trouble is that we have detracted from what the ship is supposed to do. Kyle wants a Focus to pass, and a Focus to shoot. Wren wants to steal that action for her Net. Engine Upgrade and Expert Handling both take actions, too, and EH gives you a stress for your trouble. There is, in short, no good way to use even a fraction of the ship's potential. It's still not a dogfighter, and its ability to provide support to other ships isn't improved much at all beyond running Kyle naked... and this version's 37 points. The next one is The Wrong Ordnance. Redline Munitions Failsafe Extra Munitions (so far so good...) Enhanced Scopes (uh...) Proton Rockets x2 (no! no!) Parts of this *almost* make sense. Enhanced Scopes actually work well together with Focus-based ordnance, since you have to Focus on the turn you shoot so you can't get blocked if you want to use them. Munitions Failsafe isn't bad, but it's definitely sub-optimal. Extra Munitions makes sense. The trouble, obviously, is the PRockets. This is where the synergy with EScopes turns into anti-synergy, because a range 1 attack is hard enough to get off when your PS is decent, let alone when every Academy Pilot can Barrel Roll away. And, of course, the PRockets are only a three-dice attack for a Punisher... exactly as good as its Primary attack. Even though none of the cards involved is bad in isolation, together they're a 37-point ship that is about as useful as a naked 21 point ship no one ever uses (un-upgraded Cutlass). ChahDresh 390 Posted April 6, 2016 At the end Oberron had a great point with that designed-to-suicide Echo. For a time, I thought to myself, "Well, you don't have to use the Baffle or Vader"-- but on second consideration that's exactly the point. Taking good cards and making them unusable is the essence of bad design. Plus, on high-value ships like named Phantoms, the opportunity cost of taking something bad is vastly more significant than it would be on, say, a Black Squadron pilot. Special mention to Sarcon for Draw Their Fire on Soontir Fel, which makes me giggle for no good reason. Although it would have been better with Stealth Device. And the winner is... Treybert, whose "A Little Too Ruthless" list is subtly awful. So many good and reasonable cards went into that and the result is STILL a complete mess. I love it. Thanks again to everyone! SEApocalypse 4,443 Posted April 6, 2016 Dash + Outrider + TB should take the cake and eat it. I don't think it goes worse than that.

Gersun 544 Posted April 7, 2016 Draw Their Fire on Soontir also made me laugh. I also think the Ruthless squad was a great, subtle list. I'm sure you could use it to great effect at least once! People always love flying in close proximity to keep arcs concentrated on a target. I know the competition is over, but people should keep sharing their lists! The Millennium Failcon: Lando Calrissian - Stay on Target, Chopper, Kanan, MF title Lando will never use his ability because he will use Kanan to clear stress with a white move. Chopper will help him kill himself by doing actions while he is stressed from staying on target.

chilligan 1,302 Posted April 7, 2016 Many of the variants are playable, if you ignore the upgrades. Try to play this though: Dash Rendar (36)Expose (4)Tractor Beam (1)Luke Skywalker (7)Engine Upgrade (4)Outrider (5)Rebel Operative (16)Gunner (5)Rebel Operative (16)Gunner (5)Munitions Failsafe (1)Total: 100View in Yet Another Squad Builder Dash has no chance of actually doing damage, the 2 HWKs with Gunners are the primary damage dealers. No tacticians here, just try to hit anything with 1 dice.
TheRealStarkiller 3,446 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) I win this contest with my list above - given that you don't just fly all your ships off-board in round 1, My list is able to self-destruct in round 5, after flying 5 k-turns even without enemy contact. You can't beat this list in terms of 'Building for failure'. Edited April 7, 2016 by TheRealStarkiller
starrius 122 Posted April 7, 2016 I miss my Boba fett with expert handling with RAC with expert handling that was probably the most fun I've had with big ships ever!!!

You can't beat this list in terms of 'Building for failure'. The point was to build so bad list that even the best players are unable to win with it. "Let's build lists so bad Paul Heaver couldn't win with them." I don't think that 3x E-Wing comes even close to that.
