emmjay 319 Posted March 29, 2016 I was playing Imperials and had Omega Leader target locked Zuckuss with 4-LOM as crew. I also had my evade token and a focus token. Zuckuss attacks me and he adds the extra die, which is allowed in the FAQ. What about 4-LOM? Can he deny me my dice modification tokens? Now, the FAQ has made clear that the evade token is like adding an evade die (as shown by the Autoblaster FAQ - Hits can't be cancelled by defense dice and that also includes other added evade results). Focus tokens are used to modify dice indirectly. And we know that "Modify Dice" is 3 rules: 1. Add a result (Advanced targeting computer, evade tokens) 2. Reroll dice (Predator, Target Lock, Han ability) 3. Change a result (Chirpy, Mangler Cannon) I argued, and he understood, that the evade would not be able to be cancelled as it is a direct add a result. However, he argued and I saw his point, that the focus token could be denied usage due to 4-LOM crew. Thoughts? Ideas?
Pandademic 425 Posted March 29, 2016 4-LOM could choose either the evade or the focus token, and prevent its use. Omega Leader only prevents the ships he TL's from modifying dice. He can't do anything to prevent abilities like 4-LOM's from triggering, since 4-LOM doesn't modify any dice. 6 StephenEsven, DR4CO, ObiWonka and 3 others reacted to this
thespaceinvader 17,538 Posted March 29, 2016 4LOM crew doesn't modify any dice at all, so OL's ability doesn't affect his. All he does is stop you spending tokens, which is an entirely different form of trolling. 2 WWHSD and FireSpy reacted to this
WWHSD 9,273 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Just like Carnor Jax, 4-LOM can prevent OL from spending tokens. OL doesn't impact 4-LOM crew's ability at all. Edited March 29, 2016 by WWHSD 1 FireSpy reacted to this
dhowtocor 108 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Ninjaed. It seems like clicking the email link I get for new topic often does not show me any replies. 4-LOM does not cancel a spent Evade token, it prevents the spending of it, and the same with the Focus. So Omega Leader's ability does nothing to stop 4-LOM's ability. Edited March 29, 2016 by dhowtocor 1 FireSpy reacted to this
Ubul 887 Posted March 29, 2016 I argued, and he understood, that the evade would not be able to be cancelled as it is a direct add a result. You were wrong. It adds a result to your defense roll when you spend it. Until then, it is just a token assigned to your ship, can be denied by 4-LOM, can be stolen by Palob etc. 2 DR4CO and FireSpy reacted to this
XBear 263 Posted March 29, 2016 4-LOM has to pick either one of your evade or focus tokens and declare you cannot spend it, after you roll your green dice, but before you spend the token, because the attacker modifies dice before the defender, and 4-LOM activates in the modify dice phase. Since he's the attacker, it should be assumed that 4-LOM activates during the attacker's phase. If he doesn't activate his ability, it's too late to do so when you say you want to spend a token (provided you give him a moment to declare his intention or not). In other words, 4-LOM has to ion himself before knowing whether you intend to spend your token or not (though he may be able to guess looking at your dice). in the case of zero agility, he still has to declare his intention before you decide whether to spend your token. StephenEsven 628 Posted March 29, 2016 You got the timing wrong. 4-lom triggers during the 3. Modify attack dice step, not the 5. Modify defence dice step. But the implications are the same. You choose before you know the Green dice results
