Ruler stands

So I just got done playing a tourney on the weekend and for the first time had rulers for every measurement length

 

range 1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5

Short, Short-Medium, Short-Long

 

It quickly became apparent that while these rulers came in extremely handy, it was also hard to keep them easy to hand and organized.

 

Does anyone have any DIY or purchasable solutions to hold armada rulers?

 

I was thinking of making something out of wood, but any ideas would be entertained.

get a block of 2"x4" maybe about 4" to 6" long and drill holes about 1" deep that the rulers just fit into.

I'm betting he's been to enough store champs now that he's chopped all the range rulers you get for top 8. I haven't pulled that trigger yet but def considering. What do you cut it with Matias?

if its a plastic ruler you could just score it with a hobby knife a bunch of times on both sides and just snap it off. or score it to guide a fine tooth saw along the line. you could also use a good steal kitchen knife by putting the blade in place on a cutting block and hitting the back of the knife with a sharp blow with a wooden hammer or bat.

 

if you worried about a clean cut make it a little bit long and use a sanding block to sand it back to the line.

yeah I have so many store champs rulers I traded some away and got 2 more sets on the weekend. I also have like 10 Raider 1 alt art cards.

 

FUNNY STORY

 

I did try to cut store champ rulers down to smaller sizes, especially since some were so bowed you could use them as springs.

 

My bright idea was to use my circular saw...don't try this at home folks, the first bit cuts clean and then the thing shatters and there is some shrapnel. It's not pretty.

 

After that I went and bought shorter rulers from recreator studios, like a sane person...

They are common, I think you can get them from shapeways.

I considered this, but the layout and number of slots would be very "x-wing"

I could easily design something for you to get 3D Printed.  Just need to know the numbers and dimensions of your ruler pieces.

 

But getting it printed yourself would be the bogeyman there.
