Is FFG going to do anything about this?

Outer rim smuggler sucks, just because there is another similar ship does not mean it needs to suck...

 

You should compare it to the Wild Space Fringer (yt-2400), and then get really mad. (its also a better comparison)

What's the issue? 

Comparing the two the Scout has -1 Hull, +1 Agility, +2 PS, a better dial, -1 Crew, +2 Torpedoes, +1 EPT, +1 Salvaged Astromech, +1 Illicit, Evade Action... for two points less.

 

If that isn't an aknowledgement the Outer Rim Smuggler is overpriced, I'm not sure what else would be.

 

At least the Wild Space Fringer has a Cannon slot... Nope, still overpriced.

 

Gods, I wish they'd just nut up and release a Card Pack like the Malifaux Arsenal packs of reprised cards.

They are doing something about it. They are selling a ton of Scouts.

 

To be fair though I don't think the intent of the developer was to have multiples of large base ships when they first came out. You bought that exp for the Falcon, not to run 3 or 4 smugglers. Things have changed and large based ships are seen to be good in multiples (Brobots for example). 

 

I really don't want to see a fix for the smuggler (don't need a reason to buy more than one Falcon), just doesn't seem right to see one that isn't the Falcon on the table in the first place.

U wing is going to help Scum catch up on other factions for sure.  Its flat out awesome.

 

They NEVER release "Fixed" pilot cards and have pretty much stated they never will.

 

Just keep your useless Wild Space Fringer and Outer Rim Smugglers for the card collection they will never see any actual use.  Named pilots for those ships are still DD great.

Does anybody remember Rebel Convoy?

2x Outer Rim Smuggler

2x Gold Sq. Pilot + Ion Cannon Turret

That squad was a beast. Sure the Contracted Scout is cheaper with better PS and customizability, but Scum sure needs some competitive ship (or so people say). Besides, isn't the dial going to make it a bit harder to master?

I do wonder a little. They've made it very cheap for what you're getting.

 

I wonder how much they're pinning on that asymmetrical dial.

 

nah that's part of the expense

 

see, the profile's so "good" because it's a K-wing on a larger and therefore far more difficult to control base

 

the K-wing is so disgustingly inefficient that you never see it without the TLT tactician combo or Miranda (hopefully Conner Ks soon)

 

 

jumpie over here is also disgustingly inefficient ito naked statline. He's priced just fine; the others are horrendously priced

 

 

the main difference between the lot is the scout will see play; the other jokers won't

Every faction gets ships that are going to be good when compared to other faction alternatives.

With the Ruthless freelancer costing 1 more than the Blue Squadron Pilot and having worse stats that is another one the rebels got on scum.

I do actually don't mind at all that the outer rim smuggler sucks. sure it would make for yet another option in lists but if someone is

gonna play with a yt-1300 it should be the falcon, it would just look weird otherwise (and feel weird).

I guess the same can be said about the outrider but if you aren't very familiar with shadows of the empire (your loss) it's not that big of an issue and I could see 2 or 3 yt-2400 hundred on a mat if someone really wanted it. 

 

For the jumpmaster it's not as iconic since it's even more deep into the old EU than the outrider and it's the scum faction so seing multiple jumpmasters wouldn't be weird to most people, and I rather they make the generic good from the start instead of making the same mistakes as before.

 

you can actually see a trend here. First generic large pwt is super bad, next one is just pretty bad but playable if you want to and the new one is actually playable and pretty good. I rather they get 1 out of 3 right then all 3 wrong so gj ffg you might FINALLY  be learning. (you only had to frak up the starviper generics also before you learned :angry: )

The other two generics just get to join the could have been great room of cool pilots along the likes of generic e-wing and lt lorrir. There they will sit and wait for never to be released uppdated cards or the coming of a new age in an x-wing 1.5.
