The MC30s are fragile and redundant shields wont protect you if a big hitter arrives and one shots you. I think Admonition and foresight might be better options to keep them alive especially Admonition if you are launching attack runs to use the black dice on occasion.

You have poor squadron commands so Han & Dash are perfect. For the others I think 4 A-wings and Jan may be better. With more speed and the counter rule they tie things up well and when moving into contact at least you get your 2 counter dice on that turn as the enemy shoot you.

I've only tested my Ackbar MC30 list once so far, but I don't see the benefit from dropping 18 points into Ordnance upgrades. The way I see it, you're using your superior speed and maneuverability to keep the enemy at distance and keep hammering away with red dice.

Why on earth would you do this? a CR90A is 51pts with TRC, compared to 76pts for a Mc30 with the same upgrade, and it only gets one less dice, and is considerably more maneuverable at top speed, the CR90A already had cheap long range speedy nightmare locked down, the MC30 is designed to get in close and double arc your opponent into space junk.

You're going to double arc with Ackbar? There are much better admirals out there if that's the goal... You use MC30s because they are more survivable, they do have an extra die (which costs 10 points if you pay for it with an upgrade), and they have the *threat* of black dice. If I want to make MC30s into up-close brawlers, I'm taking Dodonna or Mon Mothma, not Ackbar. Honestly, I'm still working on testing, but I'm not convinced Ackbar MC30s are any better than simply having more Vettes. You pretty much said it yourself, you get 3 CR90As for the price of 2 MC30s...

Yes you can double arc with an MC30 and Ackbar, its called getting both side arcs into play, and it is very easy against large ship bases, you just need to have player one to make it work.

As for the rest of what you say, I agree, I'd much rather take Mon Mothma or Dodonna with Torpedoes, and leave the CR90's to Captain Carp.
