Woopdeedoo even more films..... I mean, a new trilogy and some anthology films is nice, but 2 new trilogies, and 10 new anthologies??? They're gonna run out of content faster then X-wing runs out of ships.

I doubt they would run out of content.  No one has even touched Old Republic stuff.  Do Revan in a movie? Easy.  Just because they de-canonized everything out there doesn't mean they won't bring any of it back in on any given Sunday.  Most likely the best things will be re-written and some of that will make it to the screen.  Not to mention, they have an investment in drawing crowds to theme parks that rake in money day in and day out.  New features for those come from movies they control.  Not to mention seeing how well long term planning on movies has paid off for Marvel, so it is easy to argue the point that they could do the same thing and do as well or better (at least, that is the spin I would expect to be presented to the powers behind the magic throne).

Tbh I've sort of thought that the marvel cinematic universe was beginning to get too unwieldy. So many films so fast, with such a big lost of more on the horizon, that I feel no urgency in watching them. I've reached saturation level of superheroes, and that sentiment really doesn't seem unique to me. Hell I saw a long discussion on Facebook a few days ago in which several people outright stated they were done with the franchise once Thor 3 is finally out.

I'm really concerned that StarWars is rushing to follow a model (as others have tried) which is about to come crashing down... Or degrade to a b-movie fest ala Hammer Horror.

Knowing that there are going to be x dozen more films makes this one less special... And who really wants a Mace Windoo film?

There's so much they can do with Star Wars that 10 movies is nothing. It would actually be nice to see movies that don't center on the Skywalker family for a change. Like Rogue One.

You just have to break out of the Skywalker mindset... Make a movie about something other than Skywalkers, Solo's, Vaders, and Rebels vs Imperials.

To say they can't make 10 good movies based on the Star Wars universe is really like saying they can't make 10 good movies period.

I mean how many good books from the EU were there? More than 10 I'd guess, although I could see some people debating that...

What elements does it require? Figure that out and then we could reasonably discuss if it's possible or not.

Does a Star Wars movie have to have Jedi in it? Does it have to have droids? Does it have battles between starfighters or starships? Does it have to have muppets?

Could a movie that is James Bond'ish only with a blaster and a droid companion be considered a Star Wars movie?

I think if they mae movies with new things liek that would be great. Rouge one is going to be a war movie, that's cool. Just based on Hollywood lately, I fell like originalty isnt big right now.

I am personally excited about the Anthology movies. I think these will be the movies that will be a little bit more different than the Trilogy movies. Which will help keep them from getting stale, unlike the MCU.

Yeah, it's not as if they're going to run out soon, not if it's handled well and Disney doesn't do bad movies. Even the mediocre ones are enjoyable.

You could even make a band of brothers type series about a small group of clones, straight out of the game Republic Commando.
