Amanal 2,557 Posted March 6, 2016 I am relatively new to the game but a very experienced table top gamer. As I read through fleet build ideas I keep thinking to myself, "Is that not considered cheesy?" Oh please, if you can't play the game the way it is designed then it is badly designed and not worth your time. Putting these artificial constraints in place do nothing but ensure that the game designers are rewarded for their laziness and ineptitude. Armada is fresh right out of the box, my friends who I game with on a weekly basis are still experimenting and learning. But the one thing we have not found was a killer list that would win without being played well. We have found that there are lists that can be tough to play against, but there is always a solution. Be it a strategic solution in changing your list or a tactical solution in changing how you play. Against the Clonisher all you must remember is your squadrons will go after his first assault but before he then shoots the next time during the squadron phase. And because he telegraphs his attack for at least a turn if not two you just have to learn to get to where he will attack from before he does. If you have the Squadrons you have the tactical change that may defeat the list, if not then you may need to make a strategic change to take a build with squadrons. What is fun about this game is you can build as hard as you like and have a good fun game, knowing that the list you come up against will be just as fun to try and win against as yours. Every game I have ever played has me looking at my opponents list wondering how I will win this game and once you realise he too is thinking the same thing you know the game will be fun. 1 Ma22a reacted to this
Vogons 195 Posted March 6, 2016 I have to admit this is the first time I sit watching TV and playing on the fleet builder to see how different things look like they may work.
