Darth Axios 0 Posted February 27, 2016 Hi all I'm new to this forum and relatively new to Armada. However, I'm completely into the game and looking to increase my collection. I've found a number of online locations to purchase expansion pieces, some of which are overseas (I live in Canada). Has anyone had any experience purchasing online from overseas locations? Are there any "gotchas" or differences in the product sold from overseas? Thanks for reading! Darth Axios
meekor 113 Posted February 29, 2016 It is always buyer beware no matter who you buy from online...When purchasing from Evilbay look for thier selller feedback...There are times when customs is overwhelmed and causes a huge bottlenck with getting your parcel... Vykes 1,927 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Well, I'm in Northern Alberta and I typically buy from the UK and a seller I really like Stateside. Granted, with the slump in our Cnd it hurts, but not as much as some local spots going for $29.99 fighter packs. They're my go-to for orders that I plan out, where as my 'local' (within 100km) shop gets spur of the moment purchases (as they host tournaments, so I'll give 'em my patron for it). The Book Depository is a great spot with free shipping provided you don't mind some wonky shipping times (up to a month). Doc's Discount Gaming in the States has more than reasonable shipping and prices (and discounts for preorders) with good shipping every time I've gone through them. And if you just need certain parts, cards, a few extra stands, miniatures, etc, then Big Orbit out of the UK sells stuff individually (though they don't restock as much as I'd like). That's.about it. No other 'gotcha' stuff as far as I can tell. Miniature Market, the Warstore, and all those other US 'go to' spots are murderous for Canadian shipping. I heard Meeplemart and Twilight Citadel (Toronto and Vancouver, if memory serves) have free shipping past $100 cnd and good prices. I might consider them depending on the order size, and I may try them out when wave 3 ships.. No experience there though. And welcome to the forum by the by, eh?
