Comradebot 1,255 Posted February 25, 2016 Night Beast and Winged Gundark should be 1 point cheaper. The others are fine. Meh, Night Beast is fine. He's basically got a poor man's PTL, and can get a dice modifier even if blocked. And, unlike the similar Chaser, he isn't dependent on other pilots nearby. Slap a MkII or even TC on him and he's surprisingly potent for his points. 2 heychadwick and Magnus Grendel reacted to this
Comradebot 1,255 Posted February 25, 2016 Also... Anyone ever try Scourge with Decoy? That sounds like actually not a terrible idea. 1 Magnus Grendel reacted to this
ForceSensitive 1,991 Posted February 25, 2016 But Howlrunner's ability is tempered by the fact that she's flying a 2 attack die ship, with three HP, and no shield to possibly mitigate an early crit. Things that throw tons of dice, or have multiple attacks keep TIEs pretty well in check, imho. Large numbers is what makes the TIE fighter effective, not necessarily the EPTs or abilities, although some are a lot better than others. The things that make the TIE good, or more accurately better than its start line would indicate, are the same things that make any ship good: more modifiers. And Howlrunner is effectively a target lock for up to six other ships. That's an insane amount of power. No matter what platform you put it on.
pcgamerpirate 499 Posted February 25, 2016 I do agree that Winged Gundark needs something. A point drop would make him a cheap, but higher PS pilot....that has an ability that probably won't be triggered. Or make his ability 1-2, as I think 1-3 is just too much. I do love my Tie Fighter pilots...except Howlrunner. I do hate her. I do recognize that I'm odd man out on that. Not a fan of Howlrunner either or at least my green dice aren't I can't keep her alive for more than a turn or two. She doesn't need to last that much longer than a one or two combat rounds. By then, you're swarm is probably broken up anyway and you should be ahead. She only needs to do 18 points worth of damage to keep you even and she often contributes much more than that. 1 Magnus Grendel reacted to this
Rakky Wistol 2,903 Posted February 25, 2016 Now you've gone too far. Not a single tie fighter pilot need a point adjustment. 1 Sir Orrin reacted to this
heychadwick 11,354 Posted February 25, 2016 Also... Anyone ever try Scourge with Decoy? That sounds like actually not a terrible idea. I have him in a list idea about all different Ties that increase your base attack. Inquisitor, Zeta Leader, Scourge, Backstabber, and Mauler Mithel. I want to try it out. Now you've gone too far. Not a single tie fighter pilot need a point adjustment. Not even Winged Gundark?!?!?
Rakky Wistol 2,903 Posted February 26, 2016 I wish his ability wasn't range 1 restricted but no. Free crits and 4 PS for 3pts is pretty solid. Little weak but can still do a lot of work vs. high hull targets and if the meta destabilizes and we see generics and PS 4 to combat generics then it's a sweet sweet day for WG.
