"Khiraxz Duo"

Recommended Posts

A list ive had some decent success with and feels quite strong when focusing down a single opponent. Plan is to stall in the beginning to gather up Focus on Palob to support the others.. Any tips?

The Bodyguard idea is very neat!  I'd not considered that on a Moldy Crow HWK before, but that seems pretty solid.

I'm a bit uncertain about the Stealth Devices, as I've found they go away pretty quickly on Agility 2 ships.  If you can, I'd try to get an Engine Upgrade on Talonbane - I've found him much better when I've got the ability to boost into Range 1.

I've always struggled with Tactician on HWKs, as it's hard to keep things in arc at the best of times, let along at Range 2 as well.

Ive tought abit on Predator instead of Crackshot?

Well the general idea with the stealth devices is that hopefuly they can only target either of the khiraxz, and that would hopefully have a boost from Palob, makeing Talonbane 4 dices and Graz 5 dices if in arc (without considering any range bonuses, since many use TLT)

Might be a good idea to get that Engine Upgrade on Talonbane..
Yea its hard to keep the arc for HWK but consider that the first attack is likely to be at range 2 of any ship, that attack will stress atleast 1 ship. Then depending on what u are facing, TLT u wanna get up close anyhow, then not consider your own TLT until u miss staying in range 1, and then u can give stress again. (atleast thats how it have worked out for me.)

I don't like bodyguard on Palob in this case.  He's your most valuable ship (both in terms of point cost and in terms of his ability's affect on the enemy).  There is NO reason not to kill him first and by taking bodyguard, you are just encouraging your opponent to make a good targeting decision.  Why make priority decisions easier on your opponent?

Yes, I realize you want to protect talonbane, but certain lists are not afraid of him (but ARE afraid of Palob) and once you lose Palob, your chances of winning those matchups become very, very small...

hmm that might be true.. The fights ive been in so far with that list people have tended to target Talonbane, but might be the cases when faceing veteran opponents..

Sorry, I didn't mean only 'good' players will go after palob first.  Its just certain matchups where palob is more of a threat due to the type of list your opponent might fly.  Some enemies will want to kill Talonbane first (and it also depends on how you fly your ships).  Its just that to me, bodyguard becomes only useful in some matchups, and at 2 points, I've never liked spending more than 1 on an upgrade that has value only some of the time...
