HistoryGuy 197 Posted February 11, 2016 Z-95 Headhunter: Tala Squadron Pilot (13)X 4 Z-95 Headhunter: Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)X 4 Total: 100/100 Just curious, has anyone tried this?
blade_mercurial 2,091 Posted February 11, 2016 Of course someone has tried it! 8 ships is tough to beat. I don't know anyone who actually owns 8 z-95's, but I've seen it on VASSAL a few times (along with the feedback 7 zed scum version). Both are quite strong jousting lists... Comradebot 1,255 Posted February 11, 2016 Came in second at the first Houston SC this year. It's a tough list, both to fly and to beat if flown well. It has a lot of guns, a lot of health, a lot of firing arcs, and a lot of potential blockers.

I bought six when I first started playing X-Wing because they were on sale and I thought it'd be funny to fly a swarm of six of them against my friends. Then S&V came out and I snagged two copies of Most Wanted, putting me up to ten damned Z-95s. Guess it's a good thing I like them so much. Of course someone has tried it! 8 ships is tough to beat. Vassal: http://www.vassalengine.org/index.php X-Wing Module: http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:Star_Wars:_X-Wing_Miniatures_Game I personally enjoy it, since I can't always make weekly meet-ups or get over to a friend's house but I still really want to play some X-Wing (and maybe with some good folks). I do know some people who also don't care for it, since they feel it's cheating themselves having spent money to actually buy the miniatures. Personally, I tend to only use stuff I own in order to not feel like I'm doing anything "wrong", even if sometimes that means I might play with something unreleased so long as I've pre-ordered it. HistoryGuy 197 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Does VASSAL cost anything like a membership fee of something? Edited February 11, 2016 by HistoryGuy

TerTer 74 Posted February 11, 2016 I think this list can work if you position correct and prioritize targets. Looks fun, how competitive don't know, but fun
Sixter 228 Posted February 11, 2016 There was a store championship in Texas at the beginning of January where the final was between 8 Zs and 4 TLT Thugs. The Thugs won 100-75.
Estarriol 1,649 Posted February 11, 2016 It's fun, but pray you don't meet phantoms.
