Richardbuxton 7,287 Posted April 7, 2016 Oh dear, glad I saved that thermal detonater. 1 sonovabith reacted to this

Richardbuxton 7,287 Posted April 7, 2016 Yep. So who's going to go first? It's a long way away, but I suspect it moves quickly. Wale is the best shot so should be using the turret. And I suspect no one wants to be engaged with it when I launch a TD at it! But I can't get there this turn so I don't mind waiting... Wish I had my extreme range sniper rifle now
sonovabith 936 Posted April 7, 2016 I concur with Wale taking the canon. I'm good with going last since it will take me longest to get into position. Do we want to try have Wale do some distracting fire and we can try sneaking up behind it? Or do we want to just do a full-on charge assault? I'm more partial to trying to sneak up and maybe doing it from different directions, but I'm good with whatever everyone wants to do.
Kaigen 825 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) Okay, well, we've got maybe three people (Wale, Khit, Naught) who have a possible means of hitting it from a distance, and two people more inclined to close range combat (Larik, Lama), so perhaps the ranged attackers should take the first three slots to distract it and perhaps draw it forward. The trick is, I'm assuming this thing has a fair amount of soak, so if Naught is going to do anything to it, I'm probably going to need to generate 3 pips on Move (attack, range, strength). Edit: I suppose the blaster Naught's borrowing from Larik has medium range, so she could move in and open up with that for the first round, and then see if it's safe enough to move to short range to cut down on the power needed to use Move effectively. SHADOWGUARD CHAMPION 499 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) We, Khit and Lama, should try and throw out thermal detonators down its throat. Where(On the inside) it should(Theoretically) be more vulnerable. Edited April 7, 2016 by SHADOWGUARD CHAMPION
sonovabith 936 Posted April 7, 2016 The thermal detonators have breach, so hopefully they'll get through regardless. If not, we're screwed anyway.
Kaigen 825 Posted April 7, 2016 Do we suffer any setbacks while attacking it from defense? I'm assuming terrain isn't a concern at this point.
SHADOWGUARD CHAMPION 499 Posted April 8, 2016 The thermal detonators have breach, so hopefully they'll get through regardless. If not, we're screwed anyway. That may be. But it still looks like it has more than 10 soak on the outside.
Richardbuxton 7,287 Posted April 8, 2016 Sounds like a good use of double aiming at a specific body part to get a TD in the mouth. Khit is quite confident in protecting things, she is most likely going to engage with Wale on the turret and protect him using bodyguard, after the TD is launched. Khit also adds 2 boost and +10 to critical on beasts
sonovabith 936 Posted April 8, 2016 Can Naught use move to assist in getting the detonators where they need to go?
Kaigen 825 Posted April 8, 2016 Hmm, I have the control upgrade that allows me to manipulate objects as though I were handling them directly, so I should be able to prime and throw them, provided we get a little closer.
sonovabith 936 Posted April 8, 2016 Or it gets closer to us. So maybe Khit, Naught and Wale head for the canon to fire at it and draw it in, meanwhile Larik and Lama skirt around the side to try and come in behind it. By the time it's close enough for the thermal detonators to be placed by Naught's mage hand, oops, I mean The Force, Khit and Lama can open up with slug thrower and canon and L&L can do their thing. It sounds like it's big enough that if we're near the back end of it, we'll be out of range of you three's fire. Thoughts?

killakan 136 Posted April 8, 2016 Do we suffer any setbacks while attacking it from defense? I'm assuming terrain isn't a concern at this point. Nope, but you do get 2 upgrades to attack it due to size difference, it has the opposite penalty. 1 Richardbuxton reacted to this
Richardbuxton 7,287 Posted April 8, 2016 I was going to go, but changed my mind, it'd better for me if I move after it so it could be within range.

sonovabith 936 Posted April 8, 2016 I was going to go, but changed my mind, it'd better for me if I move after it so it could be within range. Maybe the most prudent course would be for Lama, Larik and Wale to take the first three spots - L&L can begin their pincher action and Wale can get to the canon - the beastie moves, then Naught and Khit can go and hopefully it'll be in range at that point so they can thermally detonate it. 1 Richardbuxton reacted to this
sonovabith 936 Posted April 8, 2016 OK then, I'll use my maneuver and action to move from extreme range to long range.
