2016 Store Championship Results

Recommended Posts

I am the B-wing pilot in question, and I will admit that my dice were spectacularly good in the first couple rounds of combat.  Also, after replaying the game a couple of times in my head during the 1.5 hr drive home, I found where I made mistakes that could have cost me the game.  Had I saved my Prox Mine one more turn, Vader would have been hit by it, hopefully taking out his shields.  Had I only K-Turned on of my B's after the first round of shots, the one that had no shots would have either range 1-ed Vader or Howl.  Had I focused on Vader more earlier than Howl, it would have benefitted me more in the late game.  Playing a game to completion is also a little new to me, since I haven't made it to a final in a tournament cut before.  Had his dice been better during the first volley/joust I could have lost more than just one B-Wing, it took all 3 crackshots to kill that B.

All that said, Jacob flew Vader like a BOSS.  He was a pleasure to play against, and an all around great player.  We had two different range 1 volleys at each other, between Vader & remaining B, to finish the game, & the dice failed us both during the first.  I think I got Vader down to 1 or 2 hull before he finally killed the B.

AJ Babcock hates my BBBK list with a passion. I had to beat him twice in two consecutive rounds to make it to the final, and he lost to it in a different store championship a couple weeks back.

Also, my name is Jarrod, not Jarod like the results said... ^_^

-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

I just bought a 2nd YV-666, and this list keeps calling to me.  I am really trying hard to resist throwing out my Palp, Vader, Omega Leader, and Wampa list that netted me 17th out of 87 people to run this at a Store Championship this weekend.

Buy a 3rd so you can fly Triple Slavers! :D

I recommend 3, with tactician Nd feedback array.

That is one scary list.

So, I ended up buying the 3rd Slaver and ran 2 with tactician, 1 with K4, and all with Feedback.  Now I just need to figure out how to fly this list properly before Saturday.  I ran it tonight, but got too close to the edge with one of my ships.  This definitely cost me the game.

Why not a Conner Net and Intel Agent? Tactician is kind of hard to trigger when you only have one K-Wing with it. Or Extra Munitions for a second Prox Mine.

I refuse to trust unmodified dice so I'm reluctant to put them on anything.

Game Night Games - Salt Lake City - Utah

Winner (Came down to one die roll where Poe needed 3 hits unmodifed, or he would have died from Vader, and got it.)

Poe - R2D2, VI, Autothrusters

Gold - TLT, R3A2, Title

Gold - TLT

Bandit

Runner Up (Myself)

Sith Convoy

Omnicrom Group Pilot - Darth Vader

Captain Yorr - Emperor Palp

"Wampa"

Black Sqd - Crackshot x2

Top 4

K-fighters x5

Top 4

Chewie - Lando, Push the Limit, Gunner, Title

Gold - TLT x2

I played in that tournament.  My list was, shall we say, experimental:

Dash Rendar (36)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Ion Cannon (3)

Outrider (5)

Gray Squadron Pilot (20)

Twin Laser Turret (6)

R2 Astromech (1)

Green Squadron Pilot (19)

Crack Shot (1)

Proton Rockets (3)

Push the Limit (3)

Autothrusters (2)

A-Wing Test Pilot (0)

Everyone I played felt threatened by my list, but ultimately all I managed to destroy was one Black Squadron pilot.   I did, however, in separate games: get Whisper down to 1 health (and nearly walk her off the board); get Rhymer down to one health (and prevent him from dropping his ion bombs with my own ion cannon shot); play TL + Focus procket chicken with Tycho and lose, and cause my final opponent to laugh for about two minutes straight after I threatened to punish my dice for their treachery.

I've never had so much fun getting last place!

I played A.J. and Jacob my last two rounds and I can't help but think if I had not made a mistake in with my Whisper my match with AJ would have ended differently( I may have lost still but would have had a better MOV)

Jacob got the best of me, my dice betrayed me and threw the Emperor down the Death Star shaft. Went into the game with Jacob in 4th ended up in 11th. I am still kicking myself for turning left onto an asteroid instead of right with whisper in game 3.

My list for those wondering was this.

Whisper

Tie Phantom

V.I.

Agent Kallus

Sensor Jammer

ACD

Omega Leader

Tie/FO

Juke

Comm Relay

Omicron Group Pilot

Lambda Shuttle

Emperor Palpatine

Tactical Jammer

Participated in my first store tournament down in Truro, United Kingdom. 20 players attended.

First place list was:

Corran Horn + R2D2 + Advanced Sensors + Push The Limit + Engine Upgrade
Gold Squadron Pilot + TLT
Gold Squadron Pilot + BTL + R3-A2 + TLT

(may be missing a point there somewhere on a Y-wing)

Second place list (myself) was:

Boba Fett + VI + Inertial Dampeners
Cartel Marauder + Glitterstim
Syndicate Thug + TLT + Unhinged Astromech
Binayre Pirate

Not sure about the rest of the lists but from what I could see the local meta was very varied. I played against a Jake, Ello and B-wing list in my first game, Whisper, Carnor and space cow with Vader and against a Decimator Soontir list. All in all a great day and lots of fun had by all.

The y wings being flown outside of thug life/the near non existence of tlt.

here in Melbourne there is no real meta (copy what everyone else does). most fly what they want and fly it well. there was maybe no K Wings not a lot of TLT but there was 3 Guri's 4 Palob's and a high number of Blaster Turret. I wasn't the only crazy one. Its always fun at tournaments across Melbourne you don't often see the same list twice. except for a small group that still hang onto BroBots.

God, what even beats the quad Autoblaster, quad Warden list? Obviously things can beat it, but nothing that's prevalent in the meta. Against almost everything in the meta right now it can either just peck to death with its primaries or autokill with its autoblaster death ball if it gets close. God ****, it's so brutal lol.

Tempted to fly it tomorrow at an SC but I'd rather try and enjoy myself lol. I can imagine 6 FO's or an 8 ship swarm could give it trouble as could quad (BTL-A4) TLT's and quad Cluster Missile AC Tempests, but not enough people are flying those, and even then the wardens arguably have the advantage vs. Quad TLT because they can attack at range 1 and have more health.

At the last minute I got to go to the Store Championship tonight in Cape Coral, FL. This was my first X-Wing game since September or October and first time flying the T-70 X-Wing.

Can't remember all the squads; if those who attended could fill in the gaps or point out anything I got wrong that would be fantastic.

9 attendees. 4 Rounds of Swiss, no top cut.

1st:
Scum 4x Syndicate Thugs + Twin Laser Turret (not sure if they had Unhinged Astromech)

2nd (myself):
Poe Dameron + R2-D2 + Veteran Instincts + Autothrusters + Weapons Guidance
Blue Squadron Pilot + Fire-Control System
Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Cannon Turret
Bandit Squadron Pilot

3rd:
Corran Horn + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System + Veteran Instincts + Stealth Device
Dash Rendar + Heavy Laser Cannon + Outrider + Lone Wolf + Recon Specialist

4th:
Dash Rendar + Mangler Cannon + Outrider + Lone Wolf + Recon Specialist
Poe Dameron + Veteran Instincts + R5-P9 + Weapon Guidance
Bandit Squadron Pilot

5th:
Bossk + Gunner + Hound's Tooth
Kavil + Twin Laser Turret
Syndicate Thug + Twin Laser Turret

6th: (I believe they were 6th)
Darth Vader + Predator + TIE Advance X1 + Advanced Targeting Computer + Engine Upgrade
Soontir Fel + Push the Limit + Royal Guard TIE + Stealth Device + Autothrusters
Omega Leader + Veteran Instincts + Weapons Guidance + Stealth Device

Squads I remember with placements I cannot remember:

Miranda Doni + Twin Laser Turret + C-3PO
Warden Squadron Pilot + Twin Laser Turret + Tactician + Cluster Mines + Extra Munitions
Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Cannon Turret + R3-A2

Unknown upgrades and pilots

Kath Scarlet + Veteran Instincts + K4 Security Droid + "Hot Shot" Blaster + Engine Upgrade
Drea Renthal + Twin Laser Turret + BTL-A4 Y-Wing
N'Dru Suhlak + Lone Wolf + Cluster Missiles

Will continue to edit once I get the correct information in.

Store championship in Seldon, NY has officially concluded

Tournament (99)

"Omega Leader" (29) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3), Stealth Device (3)

Ion Cannon (3), Emperor Palpatine (8), Emperor Palpatine (8)

Darth Vader (38) - TIE Advanced
Crack Shot (1), Proton Rockets (3), TIE/x1 (0), Engine Upgrade (4), Advanced Targeting Computer (5)

Suprisingly enough ion cannon came in clutch twice on OGP denying actions by causing bumps on two different occasions.

Second place IG-88 B crackshot, glitterstim, fcs, hlc, auto thrusters, title   5-2 (only losses to me)
IG-88 A crackshot, glitterstim, fcs, hlc, autothrusters, title.

Fourth and third (idk the order) was rebel (Y-wing tlt with r2)x2 and (HWK tlt rec spec)x2. 5-2

Howlrunner predator, hull upgrade
x5 crack shot Black squadron pilots. 5-2

Honorable mention to a list running etahn abhat with juke sensor jammer and Dashbot, blackmoon? EWing generic with eptbot juke sensor jammer  and tarn mason with the bot that lets you make your attacker reroll dice and IA annoying as hell to kill

I'll probably? Post a link to the videos if I get a chance tomorrow. Both times I faced against the brobots list once in the round robin and second in the finals did I pull a clutch blinded pilot critical saving my hide.

I have finally reached a point with Imperials in Wave 7 where I've played just about every good combination I can think of, so Ive finally gotten to explore some Rebel stuff. I must say, having Regen amd Turrets was a nice change of pace. I just cant wait for Wave 8 to hit the shelves.

Thanks to all players today, lots of cool matches, I hope everyone had a good time!
