Ginkapo 8,527 Posted January 9, 2016 I have a dilemma, I would like to build a 5 ship rebel build which actually has a reasonable squadron escort for when the imps close the range gap. However, as you can see below my perfect build is 473pts. (I'd switch a CR90 for Admonition if I owned a second MC30 but nevermind) What changes would you make to this build? (I own core, CR90, Neb, Mc30, AF, fighters and rogues) SHIP: MC30c Scout Frigate 69 UPGRADES PTS Mon Mothma 30 Lando Carissian 4 Assault Proton Torpedoes 5 Foresight 8 TOTAL POINTS: 116 SHIP: Nebulon-B Escort Frigate 57 UPGRADES PTS XI7 Turbolasers 6 Salvation 7 TOTAL POINTS: 70 SHIP: CR90 Corvette A 44 UPGRADES PTS Jaina's Light 2 TOTAL POINTS: 46 SHIP: CR90 Corvette A 44 UPGRADES PTS Turbolaser Reroute Circuits 7 TOTAL POINTS: 51 SHIP: Nebulon-B Escort Frigate 57 UPGRADES PTS Yavaris 5 TOTAL POINTS: 62 SQUADRONS PTS Tycho Celchu 16 Wedge Antilles 19 YT-2400 16 Nym 21 Dutch Vander 16 Keyan Farlander 20 Luke Skywalker 20 TOTAL POINTS:
Caldias 2,202 Posted January 9, 2016 Personally, I would stick Mon Mothma on any ship other than the MC30. I love those ships very much, but they have such low hull, no brace, and everyone will be gunning for them. They go down hard and fast. I might suggest dropping most of your squadrons. Jan Ors and two or three escorts (X-Wings or YT-1300s) really go a long way if you're looking to just defend against squadrons. Alternatively, you might drop a CR90 and upgrade one of the other CR90s to an Assualt Frigate just to keep Mon Mothma alive longer. I would focus on culling/revaming your squadrons, though, as all the named dudes are great, but are you trying to be a bomber attack force or a squadron defense force or something in between? BigBearCDN 53 Posted January 9, 2016 I just played with Nym and he was able to bomb 3 turns out of the 6. His ability didnt go off once so I'm thinkin generic Scurrg is the way to go unless you really want his braces.
oddeye 560 Posted January 9, 2016 Too many unique squadrons. You have 6, i tend to keep it to 2-3 and the rest generic. 1 Archon Dan reacted to this
Ginkapo 8,527 Posted January 9, 2016 Too many unique squadrons. You have 6, i tend to keep it to 2-3 and the rest generic. Why though? I understand with Imperials as the aces benefit their generic counterparts, but with Rebels whats the reasoning? There are limited activations, so may as well make them count. I accept that in this case the others may have a point that I dont need Nym, Keylan, Luke, or Tycho. However, I have previously run a different line up with multiple aces and they rip through the enemy squadrons at high speed before battering ships. If you can get them into the fight, it doesnt matter who they face, rebel aces make their points count.
Ginkapo 8,527 Posted January 10, 2016 Update - down to 418pts. The Jan X's are for ship escort, the YT2400's are for intercepting annoying imp aces.
