Kylo Ren crew card - what abilities might he have? TFA Spoilers!

Recommended Posts

Kylo Ren

2 points

After you perform an attack in your primary firing arc that does not hit, you may perform a boost action. If you do, take 1 damage.

Meant to show how he will freak out after failure and chase a target more aggressively.

Kylo Ren

Crew.

Imperial Only.

-4 points.

When this ship misses, it is dealt one faceup damage card.

Kylo hates consoles. I feel like they must just have a bunch of fake consoles in the FO ships/bases just for him.

How about combining that theme with a kind of mash up of Daddy and Granddaddy's abilities.

When attacking, if the attack does not hit (Luke) and you have a target lock on the defender, you may spend the target lock (Kylo smashes console) to deal one critical damage to the defender (Vader)

You mean Uncle and Granddaddy?

Kylo Ren

Crew. First Order Only. (since FO are compatible with Imperials it works to say FO only)

3 Squad Points

At the beginning of the Activation Phase, you may choose one enemy ship at range 1-2. You may look at that ship's assigned dial and rotate it one step. If you do not rotate the dial, instead assign that ship a Stress token.

Kylo Ren:

At the start of the game, if your opponent uses Han Solo, recive 5 stress tokens. If your ship touches Han Solo/ the Ship with Han Solo, remove Han Solo from the game.

There's currently no FO ship with crew though, so you couldn't equip him.

FO is compatible with Empire. FO ships can take Imperial Only upgrades, the reverse is true as well, no?

Besides, he'd be released as part of his command shuttle pack, most likely, or maybe in the landing craft pack.

Probably a reveal dial mechanic (mind reading) or stress (because he's scary).

I think the penalty for taking him should be that you ignore your pilot's ability and equiped EPT ability, as he's too concerned about his consoles getting melted.

He should cost 3 points and read, at the beginning of combat if pilot Han Solo is within range one, Han Solo is destroyed.

A more serious version could look like this:

Kylo Ren

X Pts

If unstressed, you may take 2 stress to treat the text box of any ship within range 1 as blank.

That gives us the emotional/unstable side of Ren +  makes him a lethal character neutralizer. "Sorry Corran, you can't shoot twice."

Kylo Ren

4 pt unique Crew

Imperial Only

Once per turn, when you are attacking or defending, change any one die to any result. That die cannot be rerolled or modified again.

If Han Solo is in play, the player who controls Han Solo can remove Han Solo from play to force you to discard this card.

Then, if Chewbacca is in play, you are dealt one face up damage card.

(Seriously, if you're going to kill Han Solo, make sure Chewie isn't in the room first.)

Certainly breath some life into the Solo crew card

Ooh, I like it! I was thinking of how to combine it with my suggestion above about the cost of taking him being ignoring the ability and EPT of his own ship, so how about this:

"All players must ignore the pilot ability and EPT of any ships within range two"

Maybe 1 or 2 points? Also maybe make it range one, I dunno if range two would spoil the fun of too many ships (but range one is quite easy to keep out of for your own ships).
