Carnor Rex 253 Posted January 14, 2016 I just picked up a VT-49, so I am not sure if that helps me out much. Man my wife is gonna kill me. Don't tell and then when she says "where'd you get that?.." you go "oh I've always had it". She won't know the difference. Unless of course she plays too. Thats what got me busted. 1 EctoPilot reacted to this

Dalcor 15 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Hello, as I am new with the punisher, and X-Wing as well, can someone please elaborate rulewise step-by-step how should I modify /reroll Redline + FCS + Cluster rockets? If I understand it well I will spent action to target lock a target. I get two TL of them at once, right Then I spent it to fire Cluster rocket which makes attack (recieving 2x target lock with FCS, rerolling the output for TL from my action) and attack (recieving 2x target lock with FCS and reroll with Target lock from previous Cluster Rocket attack?). But of course I cant have more than 2 TL, Right? Edited January 14, 2016 by Dalcor

But of course I cant have more than 2 TL, Right? More or less yeah. It goes like this: You take TL as your action and you put two TL tokens on the target. When Combat Phase comes along and its Redline's turn to shoot, you spend one of the two TL's to fire your cluster missiles. You roll 3 dice for the first attack, and since you still have your 2nd TL token, you may spend that to modify the attack if you wish. Once the attack is resolved, FCS kicks in, and you get two new TL tokens on the target. Then you make the 2nd cluster missile attack and may spend one of your two TL tokens to modify that attack as well. Regardless, at the end of the 2nd attack, FCS triggers and you will have two TL tokens on the target (unless its dead). But you can never have more than two TL tokens with Redline (normally you can only have one per target----even a ship with Weapon's engineer crew can only have 1 per target, but can maintain a TL token on two separate targets). 4fox100 609 Posted January 14, 2016 Speaking of punishers i have had great success running this. Redline FCS Assault Missiles Cluster Missiles EM I run him in a list with Vader. Only lost once with it and that was to a Dash/Corran list. 1 incinerator950 reacted to this

EctoPilot 58 Posted January 20, 2016 Alrighty then, I wanted to take a second and Thank everyone who contributed to this build Blade_Mercurial, ficklegreendice, Carnor Rex, Darth Chuck, and everyone else who contributed. Thank you for taking the time to help with this build, it was a interesting idea that turned into something that will hopefully be successful at the tourney level. I have been practicing with this list, played it against friends, with some success. Now to the next level! I will be posting a battle report (good or bad) for my first store tournament, so stay tuned for that. Again I would like to thank the community for their help and I hope new players can learn more about the Punisher from this thread. EctoPilot 58 Posted February 5, 2016 I wanted to post a quick update here before I posted my battle report. I played in a small tournament, only 8 people, and I placed 5th out of those 8. I am surprised that I did that good, especially playing against the same list twice. I will edit this with my battle report post link. Again thanks to all the people who contributed and helped me out here! 1 Bradmini reacted to this

Biggsy_boy 163 Posted October 18, 2017 I don't think I've seen anyone talk about the lightweight/unguided on a punisher here. What does you think of this? redline - unguided rockets, bomblet generator, lightweight frame, collision dectector. it's relatively cheap from a punisher, but does alot

You could save a point and get barrel rolls with Deathrain

I have only played a few games but I am hooked! So far here is what I have: Force awakens core set tie phantoms x2 tie advanced x1 Imperial aces pack tie interceptor x1 tie fighter x1 and of course the tie punisher I am wondering, is the Tie Punisher any good? It seems to me that it can deal a lot of damage quickly especially with redline piloting. I would like to make a punisher phantom build, but I am not so sure. any help would be appreciated!! When I first got started, this was one of my favorite lists: Deathrain (26) Accuracy Corrector (3) Cluster Mines (4) Extra Munitions (2) Ion Pulse Missiles (3) TIE mk. II (1) Seismic Charges (2) Royal Guard Pilot (22) [27] Autothrusters (2) Push the Limit (3) Royal Guard Pilot (22) [27] Autothrusters (2) Push the Limit (3) Now I'll probably run Deathrain lighter when I choose to use her, plus Bomblet Generator practically makes her into an arc dodger if that's what you want her to do. Plus Trajectory Simulator could be interesting, but it will require an FAQ with her ability. I mostly don't use Redline since he feels kind of clunky to me, even for a Punisher. Most of the time, I'd rather bring a generic Punisher instead of him. Of course, he's a bit higher in the firing order, but right now PS 7 without a slot for Veteran Instincts doesn't matter, so he might as well be a generic that can double up his Target Locks, so I save a fair bit of points running a generic instead. I run this with deathrain because of the barrel rolls and the ability to throw a bomb out front 1 Burius1981 reacted to this

On a Punisher you boost a lot, so you need an external source of focus to fire UR.

I've had fun with Advanced Sensors--even more tricks for bomb placement with the pre-drop boost, and you'll be able to focus before a K-Turn. However, I see the logic of Accuracy Corrector on Deathrain. The build would come in at 34 points, which seems reasonable.

I like both AC and AS ideas, but the shenanigans I could do with advanced sensors. Being able to boost, drop a bomb, barrel roll, than drop a 4K would be amazing.
