moonbeam 1 Posted December 16, 2015 Does Adar Tallon's ability only work on squadron commands issued from the ship he is on or can it be used on any squadron that has activated as a result of the squadron command? Cheers
Drasnighta 26,832 Posted December 16, 2015 Only on Squadron Commands on the Ship he is on. Activations on other Ships do not effect the Upgrades on your ships unless otherwise specified.

Drasnighta 26,832 Posted December 16, 2015 (edited) ...foiled again... Aha! But you can help me, DA, because I was about to come back and look for a Rule that says Upgrade Cards are set to just those ships and don't effect... Help me find that precedence? Because with the English Wording, this is one of those cards that simple says "When you resolve a Squadron Command", and then "Toggle one Activation Slider of a Squadron activated with that command." It Could implicate a Global Effect, unless there is something in the Rules otherwise. EDIT: - Does this apply? RRG, Page 13: Upgrades • On upgrade card effects, the term “you” refers to the ship that the upgrade is equipped to. Ergo, it is "When the Ship with this Upgrade Card resolves a Squadron Command" more properly. Correct? Edited December 16, 2015 by Drasnighta
thanosazlin 52 Posted December 16, 2015 If it were any squadron command issues the card would say something to the effect of " when any squadron command is resolved" or "when a friendly ship activates"
ransburger 256 Posted December 16, 2015 I'll second the "you" = equipped ship. 1 DerErlkoenig reacted to this

Drasnighta 26,832 Posted December 16, 2015 This has helped show a bit of the things that shape my thought process when it comes to rules Questions... I can quite definitively state "I believe this is the case." in an instant. But from that point on, I'm taking on the point of view that I am More Wrong than a Warm, Flat Beer On a Hot day. Until I am satisfied that the rules text backs up either statement. And getting backup on that reading helps.
DiabloAzul 2,636 Posted December 16, 2015 Absolutely: Adar Tallon: "After you resolve a [squadron] command, exhaust this card to toggle the activation slider of 1 squadron activated with that command." And, indeed, RRG p.13: • On upgrade card effects, the term “you” refers to the ship that the upgrade is equipped to. So, the proper reading of the card is: "After the ship Adar Tallon is equipped to resolves a [squadron] command, exhaust this card to toggle the activation slider of 1 squadron activated with that command." 3 Ghost Dancer, Thraug and Drasnighta reacted to this

DiabloAzul 2,636 Posted December 16, 2015 Activations on other Ships do not effect the Upgrades on your ships unless otherwise specified. To clarify, there's no explicit rule to that effect: whether an upgrade affects its own shipp and/or others is entirely dependent on the wording. The only restriction is the aforementioned meaning of "you", which does refer exclusively to the equipped ship. 1 Drasnighta reacted to this
Green Knight 9,746 Posted December 16, 2015 He can only affect the ship he's on.
