Hyperspace Assault with only Large ships

This question was raised in the community 2 weeks ago.

 

We came to the conclusion that if you have a Small or Medium Ship, it must go into Hyperspace.  Fighters, however, are optional to go into Hyperspace.

 

If you have only large ships, then you should be able to deploy Fighters at Distance 1 of the Hyperspace point on their own.

 

I personally sent a message off to FFG requesting a clarification on this issue, and I know someone else had as well...  

So we have no official confirmation as of yet.

 

 

The forum conclusion is not undisputed, either.

At the very least you can use it as one of your objectives.

Maybe you would be unable to deploy squadrons (no official word, so I'll go hypothetical) in which case you would likely elect not to put anything in Hyperspace, and then you would derive no second player benefit.

I'd recommend against running it, even with squadrons because squadrons without ship support aren't nearly as good, and lacking official word from FFG a TO could rule against your ability to deploy the squadrons.

I don't know, being able to drop a trio of B-Wings or Firesprays out of hyperspace at the right moment could be huge.

That's true, I would say especially of Firesprays.

Unless you position really well, I see the potential for B Wings to be too easily left in the dust - especially without a squadron command. In this way I see a Yavaris drop being much more profitable than only the Bs.

I'm not saying it couldn't work out, I just think it's a little too conditional to trust.

Everytime I see Yavaris in Hyperspace I make its most likely departure point a living hell to even consider to come out of. . . It never ends well. . .

I think that any Neb really has a hard time with Hyperspace Assault. They certainly seem too, anyway.

The proximity at which you usually come out of Hyperspace, combined with not getting to activate it first (thank the Force) can really spell trouble for such a fragile ship. I've toasted a lot of Salvations. Sometimes they'll be perfectly situated, my buddy managed to land an Intel Officer, XI7 8 damage shot on a VSD rear arc once, but that is definitely not the norm. Plus I still crushed it. I think it only got that shot off effectively.

Is there anything in the game rules to the point that some starfighters in the source material for the game are hyperspace capable but others are not?  (I'm thinking of a rule that would only allow Rebel fighters and Rogues to do this, basically, but no TIEs).
