Chav 10 Posted November 22, 2015 Hey guys I really like to protect my stuff, and was wondering how do you protect the components? All the tokens I put in some storage boxes that fit perfectly. My issues come with the strategic cards, all the small cards (action cards, political, tech and so on. I sleeve then but where to put them then?), the race sheets (since u cant get sleeves for them) and the system tiles. Guess the system tiles can handle being in the box, but what about the rest? Thanks for the help
flightmaster101 1,568 Posted November 22, 2015 I sleeve all the cards and stack them in deck boxes.
Forgottenlore 9,838 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Posted this a while ago, but here it is again. Lots of pictures so it takes 2 posts. This is what I came up with. The boxes store and organize the cards in between games. During the game, the big huge decks like action and political cards can be kept in their respective boxes and players can pass them around and draw from them directly, while the lids from the boxes serve double duty as trays to hold all the counters in nice, neat, contained bins that can also be passed around the table as needed. Forgottenlore 9,838 Posted November 22, 2015 Once a game is over, all the plastic pieces and cardboard tokens go back into their ziplock bags underneath the big blue insert in the main box While all of the boxes of cards fit on top, with room to spare for the hexes and strategy cards With the rulebooks and assorted play aids laid on top This way, the whole game with both expansions and all of the cards sleeved for protection fit (barely) in the base game box. Along with this thing I made to make 5 player games a bit more fair. It allows you to make a map out of hexes and remove 1/6 of the hexes so that 5 players can be fairly distributed around the edge. The big arrows indicate hexes that are considered adjacent to each other. 1 Nagash1959 reacted to this

Magesmiley 0 Posted November 23, 2015 There are some tuckboxes for the TI cards that players have made in the file uploads over at BGG http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12493/twilight-imperium-third-edition

Dweomer 22 Posted November 24, 2015 I have both expansions. The following fits into the main box: I sleeved all cards. I put each race's components in a ziplock bag: tokens, home system, trade agreements, planet cards. I use plastic containers for each color's units. These plastic containers are used during play because they take up less table space than dumping out the units, are cleaner, and units are still easy to find. I use one of the spellbooks from Mage Wars to store all the planet cards in alphabetical order. This makes finding a planet as quick as it will ever be. I place all the tokens we use in our games in a plastic organizer, which has a removable lid. Having a removal lid is crucial as you want to be able to place the organizer on the table but you don't want it taking up a lot of space. I place all the action cards into 1 plastic container that fits them perfectly stacked in 3 piles. I place all the other cards and political cards in another plastic container. I then place all the hexes into 3 bags: empty, planets, hazards. I place the second sex of strategy cards into a zip lock bag. A big bag of dice The manuals What I don't put in the original box (stuff I will almost never play with) goes into one of the expansion boxes for long term storage: Technology cards (I print out sheets showing not just the tech text but the entire tree to speed up play) Mercenaries Other strategy cards Representatives Crap action cards I have culled from the game Crap political cards I have culled from the game etc
