accuracy vs admonition

Recommended Posts

I was just curious if accuracy would stop the use of admonition mc30 title ability or will accuracy not matter in this case? "While defending, during the Spend Defense Tokens Step, you may discard a defense token to cancel 1 attack die."

Spend Defense Tokens happens *after* you have already Spent any Accuracies in order to lock down Defense tokens.

Which means you, as the attacker, will still be able to select a Defense Token that cannot be spent during that attack.

Now, wether they should still bea ble to take that accuracied token and Discard it (which is not neccessarily spending it, but who knows) and then cancel other attack dice - that's getting into murkier territory.

Essentially, you can't cancel that Accuracy die, because if its been used to lock down a defense token, that die has been spent and no longer exists to be cancelled.

I don't have the ready link to Lyraeus' Video on attack, or the other FAQs on attacking...  But that's the order listed in the RRG.

Hopefully, other people have those links handy.  :)

Discarding isn't the same as spending, and Accuracy only prevents the latter. So yeah, Admonition is extremely powerful: you can resolve the long-range version of Evade, even at close range, even when accuracy'd, even with a Redirect token.

I also agree, that discarding is not the same as spending, so regardless of accuracy you can do it. However, because you are discarding to get the effect stated on the title card, then of course you will not get the normal effect of the defense token that you would if you "spent" it. (unless of course it is an evade at long range, in which case it essentially it is the same effect).
