VanorDM 11,599 Posted November 30, 2015 flash is the best dc show by far but it's had some iffy episodes. Flash is my favorite as well, but Supergirl is giving it a run for the money. Arrow which I've just about finished watching on Netflix... I tried it when it first came out but just couldn't get into the show... It seems like the mission statement for the writers of Arrow is 'how many superhero cliches can we fit into one season' I mean I swear if they couldn't use "No I must do it alone" "I love you but you'd be in danger if were were together" "No it's my fault so I must fix it alone", or "I must lie to them for their own good" the show would lose 3/4th of it's dialog. In the process of watching it, I watched both the Flash/Arrow crossover episodes and forgot just much better I like Flash.
Darth Chuck 532 Posted November 30, 2015 I am sticking with Supergirl even though I still find the tone to be a bit off. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something is just a tad bit off. If I had to rank Supergirl, Arrow, and Flash from my favorite to least, I would rank them Arrow, Flash, then Supergirl. But that is on a scale from B to C+. The quality for all those shows is pretty high.
VanorDM 11,599 Posted November 30, 2015 I can't quite put my finger on it, but something is just a tad bit off. The fights are still a bit off I think. But that could be intentional because Kara isn't trained and so isn't that good of a fighter yet. Sometimes the fights seem jerky though and again that could be the FX, or perhaps that's intentional. One thing I like is that they aren't hammering the feminist tones home every episode. It's still there, but toned down a bit and seems to be coming from the characters themselves rather than the writers. Cat's comment about Livewire not supporting Hillary for example, or why her son liked Supergirl, were because she's a feminist and fitting to the character. But it's not as heavy handed as it was in the first episode.
Sithborg 11,644 Posted December 1, 2015 Man, I'm geeking out at the possibility of Dean Cain being Cyborg Superman.
Hobojebus 11,341 Posted December 3, 2015 *spoiler warning* can't do the hiden thing on my tablet so if you haven't seen flash skip this post. Is it just me or did flash seem really scattershot this week, I know they have to set up the filler series but the pacing was waaaaaay off the way Carter hall was introduced really bugs me it was done too quick I know heroes fighting when they meet is standard but he got accepted way to easily. And not super happy they've merged vandal savage and hath-set.
Sithborg 11,644 Posted December 8, 2015 Benoist continues to be the star of the show. She is doing such a great job. Loved her rage out last episode. And just loved her scene with the robber this episode. The Henshaw reveal surprised me. But at least he looks great.
VanorDM 11,599 Posted December 8, 2015 Benoist continues to be the star of the show. I agree, the show continues to impress me and the characters just seem to get better and better. The fighting/FX still seems a little bit off, maybe it's supposed to be that way. But it doesn't seem that way, it seems more like the fight trainer/choreography just isn't that good. In one fight, against Red Tornado I think, Kara flys off a few feet then comes in with a kick. But she actually posed when she was still 8 or so feet away and seemed to pause, before she flew in. The fights look more like what you'd see in the 60's batman show then what we see in Arrow, Flash, Shield, Daredevil, ect...
Hobojebus 11,341 Posted December 9, 2015 Friend showed me that red tornado fight, was less than impressed by poor wirework and a terrible looking Android.

Hobojebus 11,341 Posted December 9, 2015 Compare that to last night's flash when he runs on the spinning blades of a helicopter, no comparison in terms of quality.
Sithborg 11,644 Posted October 11, 2016 Saw the premiere. Loved it. Hoechlin was an excellent Superman. A Superman who smiles!!! I hope he comes back for a few more episodes after next weeks.

Sithborg 11,644 Posted October 11, 2016 I assure you, this is the complete anti-Snyder. No brooding. Tons of smiling. He was a great mix of Donner and Lois and Clark.

Sithborg 11,644 Posted October 12, 2016 No. She even stops fighting villains to save civilians.
VanorDM 11,599 Posted October 12, 2016 Super girl hasn't broken anyone's neck has she? Supergirl is to Man of Steel what the Flash is to Arrow, only perhaps a bit more so. Supergirl is very positive, and upbeat. It only touches fairly lightly on the Gods among Men thing that Man of Steel was trying to do. But for some odd reason my wife Hates it... She'll watch Flash or even sit through Arrow, but not Supergirl.
Robin Graves 6,054 Posted October 12, 2016 No. She even stops fighting villains to save civilians. What Like she's supposed to do? But, but, But I'm used to Kryptonians destroying half a city in a straight-out-of-dragonball Z fight scene!
