Definitive Guide to Disney Non-Movie Canon Ships

Recommended Posts

This is a guide for Non-Movie Canon Ships. With the EU relegated to Legends, Disney has been producing a lot of new content in the form of novels, comics and video games — and with them, some new and completely canonical ships.

I haven't read all the new comics or played every pixel of the new video games. But when I've stumbled across something new, I tried to grab an image of it.

Please fee free to tack on new ships, or make corrections. And point out if some of these ships have existed before in the EU.

It's also possible that some of these ships will make it into a feature film or TV. For example, the Rebel Troop Transport in comic Star Wars Issue 1 could be in Rogue One.

The guide is limited to ships in the Small and Large range. So 60m or less.

Here goes:

Yes. Also, it's hard to trust Concept Art and Comic book images as the definitive source, but they have enough similarities that they're certainly a similar class or at least the same manufacturer, serving the same role.

But this is the definitive guide to Disney ships. TCW ones would just clutter it up super hard.

TCW is canon. Lucasfilm explicitly mentioned that the movies and both tv series are.

Edit: I'd like to add that although we can expect alot of non-movie canon ships from here on out don't be surprised if many legends ships make the jump over to the new canon. Already the Immobilizer 418 has been canonized and it's far easier for legends ships to cross over then for legends characters to do so.

Liking the Volt Cobra; it's a neat sleeker take on the typical Corellian freighter design with its half-moon shape. But is it just me, or does its appearance change between those panels? Seems like none of the artists can agree how the front looks outside the windshield.

Yeah... It's a mess...

But really, guys, I was saying that this thread is related to the Post Disney Acquisition Vessels. As such, what place do the Clone Wars vessels have, if they're from before that time? Now since I must make it clear, that does not mean I have denounced The Clone Wars as non-canon. No, rather, it means refer to the thread's title and what's been posted in the original posts. That alone will answer, "Should Clone Wars ships be listed here?"

No, no they should not, regardless of Canon status. Not because they're non-canon or something, or bad looking, no. It's just not what fits in the description of the thread, which is a Definitive Guide to Disney Non-Movie Canon Ships.

That's... Well, that's that. I don't know how I could be any more clear. Pardon my irritation on the matter, I'm just incapable of working out how that got misconstrued.

There was also the Mellcrawler (without a II), first seen in Princess Leia IV. It lhad a different paint scheme.

I think there might be more stuff in the Leia comics since it had quite a few ships in a fight in one issue but maybe not anything too interesting.

It should be noted of course that everything in Clone Wars and Rebels that's not in the movies also technically belongs here.

Big no on The Clone Wars. That's pre-Disney acquisition.

Rebels however, you're right about.

Also, I think we've seen the Rebel Dropship before.

Some leaked photos from SW: Rogue One.

Looks like the stormtrooper assault shuttle from EVII...

Resembles the concept art quite closely for the rebel shuttle. Probably an Incom/Sorosuub design.

What?! Where? :)

Watch the NYCC Trailer for SW Rebels Season 2.

Also way before that in the novel "Tarkin", along with a ton of other EU capital ships.

Thats pretty cool :) Which cap ships?

I'll have to look for a full list, but at the bare minimum the Cc-2200 and cc -7700 frigates, Carrack cruiser and Imperial escort carrier (doesn't get named but exactly fits the Ton-Falk class).

Oh, Victory and Secutor class destroyers too.

Probably more, but haven't read it since it came out!

Oh that's a much better match than the original speculation. People saying a-wings or x-wings when it doesn't look much like either and the size seemed wrong.

The Tikar class fighters were in it as well.
