Jedi Ronin 1,588 Posted October 23, 2015 Monday. Totally forgot about discipline. How many Knight builds here would be thrown off by a 1 rank discipline requirement? All of my characters have Discipline 1. Even the clone trooper (he's not going to flinch in the face of fear!)
Kyla 1,411 Posted October 23, 2015 So, with the whole raffle thing ... here's a full Jedi in case my apprentice loses. General Cass Talon

FCastor 81 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) I took the liberty to make a list of potential players and their submissions in the order they posted their first actual submission.ColonelCommissar- Treyan Vos'ka, Male Bothan Sentinel (Artisan, Shien Expert) [Knight]- CT-9525 "Hotshot", Male Human Soldier (Sharpshooter, Tactician) [Clone Trooper]Jedi Ronin- Darex Nezuma, Male Human Mystic (Seer, Ataru Striker) [Knight]- TC-9631 "Blaze", Male Human Bounty Hunter (Gadgeteer) [Clone Trooper]Kirdan Kenobi- Ki-Von-Ahn, Male Cerean Guardian (Protector, Soresu Defender) [Knight]Jereru- Jovie Thull, Female Togruta Sentinel (Shien Expert, Healer) [Knight; Possibly Missing a Move Upgrade]- Istvan Koebis, Male Human Hired Gun (Marauder, Doctor) [Other]Kyla- Tabithia Lecala, Female Twi'lek Consular (Niman Disciple, Sage) [Padawan]- Cass'iss'tem'a'tal'on "Cass", Female Chiss Guardian (Protector) [Knight]papy72- CT-72-0114 "Jax", Male Human Soldier (Commando) [Clone Trooper]Kymrel- Argon Zur, Male Zabrak Guardian (Protector, Niman Disciple) [Padawan]- Argo Zur, Male Zabrak Guardian (Protector, Niman Disciple) [Knight]FCastor- Jeren Vallin, Male Human Consular (Niman Disciple) [Padawan]Since I much prefer the Padawan build to be honest (I actually find it a bit more fun and I like it more mechanically, plus it would give me the chance to get him from Padawan to Knight during actual play), I think I will just submit that one. ColonelCommissar 1,243 Posted October 24, 2015 Could someone clarify the minimums for a Jedi Knight. They seem kind of spread out.
FCastor 81 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) Let me see... Force Rating 2 Reflect 1 Discipline 1 (probably, not sure yet), Knowledge (Lore) 1, Lightsaber 1 Enhance (basic power), Influence (basic power), Move (basic power + 2 upgrades), Sense (basic power) The Sense (basic power) prerequisite can be substituted by the Sense Emotions talent. Also, Mentor bonus applies for the various Force powers, meaning that their basic powers cost 5 XP less. Edited October 24, 2015 by FCastor
ColonelCommissar 1,243 Posted October 24, 2015 Yeesh, my Jedi General's going to take a hit from that one... I thought it was Reflect 2?
FCastor 81 Posted October 24, 2015 Not from what I can tell after going through the GM's posts one by one. It used to be Lightsaber 2, but that got changed.
BigSpoon 373 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) All sourcebooks are open I assume? Also might I suggest, instead of requiring two upgrades of move, just require two upgrades on -any- of the basic powers, as it seems a little cookie cutter to have all the Jedi running around with the same powers. Jereru 171 Posted October 24, 2015 Yes. And what Rakaydos said originally was "Move with upgrades". In plural, so we guess it's at least two, but a bit hazy anyway. Has anyone noticed there are 4 Niman Disciples? And for non-saber trees, 2 Protectors and 2 (Sage or Seer, which is basically the same idea). That makes one think, I guess. Kymrel 1,505 Posted October 24, 2015 Doesn't sound like a problem, really. For reflect there are only four sabre-styles anyway...
FCastor 81 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) Yeah. Makashi and Shii-Cho do not have Reflect. Protector does have it though, which explains the Protectors, as they do not actually need a lightsaber spec to pull it off. As for Sage and Seer, they are the cheapest way to get the Force Rating talent I believe. And Niman is a nice all-around spec, having both Reflect and Parry, as well as Defensive Training. Plus, it is the only lightsaber tree that has both the Dedication and Force Rating talents. Add to that a couple of face talents such as Nobody's Fool and Sense Emotions and it does seem to be a bit of jack-of-trades. And as a bit of a cherry on top, it has Niman Technique, a useful little thing when you are going to have quite a few Force powers as a Knight and thus could do with a higher-than-average Willpower. Rakaydos 4,236 Posted October 24, 2015 Sorry about the spread out requiremets. Concerning move, It didnt seem reasonable to have a Jedi Knight wandering around with an un-upraded move... though I suppose Kieran Halcion's grandfather is an old-canon counterexample... FCastor 81 Posted October 24, 2015 You would not by any chance consider going with, say, 3 Knights, 2 Padawans and 2 Clone Troopers now, would you? Just checking...

FCastor 81 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) Just a heads up, but I will submit just the Padawan after all. I have made the change in the list I posted in the previous page as well. ColonelCommissar 1,243 Posted October 24, 2015 Since I'm not planning on making a Jedi can I submit a second Clone or will that open the floodgates and should I just stick to the rules?
Kymrel 1,505 Posted October 24, 2015 Um, I'm pretty sure that "raffle" thing was just a figure of speech. I at least hope Rakaydos is going to pick characters and players himself rather than leaving it up to chance. But correct me if I'm wrong Rakaydos. Jedi Ronin 1,588 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) Ok.... My submissions: Jedi Knight: I altered my padawan entry and made him a Jedi Knight, still Seer/Ataru Striker. Cuddly 20 Posted October 24, 2015 Since people are getting some sheets to me, here's some of my houserules: ... True aim's effect replaces the blue die from aiming normally. Precice aim (EoE only, apparently) gains the effects of aiming nrmally, including the blue die. ... Why the change to True Aim, btw?
